Ethan’s Vengeance of Love

Chapter 136

Chapter 136

Then, Alice glanced at him before suddenly asking, “Is my father your biological son?” NôvelDrama.Org (C) content.

All that she said just now was the truth and she would do anything to realize what she had declared earlier.

Of course, she would typically take action straight away. She wasn’t one to waste her time on chit-chat. But she talked to Charles just to irk him, so that she could ask him that question when he least expected it.

Alice had her suspicions previously and hoped that she was just overthinking it. However, now that Charles set up such a huge plan to destroy her, she couldn’t help but doubt him.

If Lucas was Charles’ biological son, she would be the last of his bloodline.

So, even if Charles picked a side, logically speaking, he wouldn’t go as far as to want her life. He would most probably not help her. Still, it was proven that he wanted her dead.

Charles was stunned for a moment and diverted his gaze quickly as something flashed across his eyes. Even though it was quick, Alice still caught it.

“What are you talking about? Of course, Lucas is my biological son.” Charles retorted just after a second.

However, that delayed response gave Alice the answer she wanted.

So, it seemed that her previous suspicion was right. Lucas might not be Charles’ biological son. That was why the Wolands would go after her time and time again. That was why they would do everything to see her dead.

Then, she recalled the car accident from seven years ago. Before this, she always thought that Elijah and the Yeagers were the ones to kill her parents.

Yet, from the recent revelation, it seemed that Charles had a hand in it too, and maybe he was the mastermind behind their death.

As the only child left behind, she was sure to avenge this blood feud.

Even though she still needed a final confirmation, her familial love for the Wolands was no more. She didn’t want to waste her breath on Charles.

“Ethan, you’re finally here!” Irvin exclaimed as he rushed over to Ethan when he saw him appear in the hallway outside the lounge. “Where did you go?”

“What’s wrong?” Ethan was answering Caleb’s phone call about the DNA test, so he went somewhere secluded earlier.

He heard Emma’s shout earlier but paid no attention to it as per his usual aloof persona. But he realized something was off when he returned to the banquet hall.

“Ethan, Alice was so cool just now! It’s too bad you weren’t here and didn’t get to see it.” Irvin was still engrossed in his amazement of her, but he didn’t forget to lower his voice, so only Ethan heard him.

Ethan was a little taken aback. I just went to answer a phone call. What did I miss? What did she do to make Irvin so worked up? And so impressed?

Ethan could see the admiration in Irvin’s eyes for Alice. It was purely because of what she did and wasn’t due to her being his wife.

Irvin’s heart was beating quickly and didn’t even wait for Ethan to ask as he went on and on, “Alice’s aura was so astonishing. It made me think of a sentence. Be it demons or gods, whoever stands in her

way will be slain.”

“What happened?” Ethan’s expression changed drastically as he knew Alice pretty well. She wasn’t the type to react if no one provoked her.

The only reason she joined Charles’ birthday celebration was because he was family. So, she would never create a scene unless they did something to cross her.

Then, Ethan recalled Charles’ attitude toward her back in the hall. His eyes immediately darkened as he guessed that Charles had something to do with this.

“Just now someone was accusing Alice of murder and Elijah said he’ll call the police on her. Then, Alice merely stared them down and scared the Wolands to death.” Irvin didn’t know about the Wolands’ internal affairs and recounted what happened just now.

However, Ethan’s eyes instantly turned sharp and icy as if they would freeze anything in sight.

The person who accused her of murder was definitely someone from the Woland Family and Charles definitely had a hand in this. Otherwise, Alice wouldn’t react that way. Old Mr. Woland. The Woland Family. You’ve done it this time!

At that moment, the door to the lounge was pushed open from the inside and Alice walked out.

Right now, she wasn’t as cold as before and looked very calm and as tranquil. Her eyes were like a lake without ripples.

Ethan wanted to go up to her, but his footsteps faltered. His heart trembled slightly as he realized she looked different than he knew her to be.

He felt his heart pang as he wondered what she had gone through in those few minutes. He wasn’t there for her when she needed him most.

When Elijah saw that Alice finally appeared, he immediately shouted, “Alice! Even though Ashley’s not dead, you still hurt her. You’ve committed a crime. The police are here to do what needs to be done.”

Elijah stepped forward with the police who arrived quickly. It seemed that Elijah had called the police beforehand.

“Ethan, it’s not looking good for Alice. The victim accused her directly and the weapon had her fingerprints on them. It was the knife Alice used to cut the cake. I asked the hotel and they found that all the footage of the second floor was wiped off. We have no way to prove her innocence,” Irvin finally regained his composure and quickly reported what had happened earlier to Ethan with a solemn face.

Ethan listened to him as the corner of his lips curved up slightly. No way to prove her innocence? With me here, there’s nothing I can’t do. They better be prepared to face the consequences of bullying my woman.

“Alice, it’s not the end when you’ve made a mistake as long as you are willing to repent. Listen to the police and accept your mistake,” Charles’ saddened deep voice traveled from the lounge.

Yet, Alice merely graced them with an indifferent smile. Now, she didn’t even want to bother wasting any emotion on the Wolands.

Charles thought he was the winner and that she would go to jail, but she would show him what she was made of and that the truth would always prevail.
