Chapter 488 My Dad Is Called Elias Winters.

Chapter 488 My Dad Is Called Elias Winters.

Moon gazed at Amanda. For some inexplicable reason, she felt a force in her heart urging her to trust Amanda.

“Alright. I believe you.”

“In that case, eat your meal and get a good night’s sleep. We only stand a chance at escape when we are well-rested and nourished,” Amanda advised.

Moon obediently nodded. Content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.

Amanda, however, glanced at the door and let out a soft sigh that only she could hear.

She didn’t know if Elias would come to rescue her. She had made two phone calls, and the second one was abruptly cut off. Elias should be aware of her perilous situation.

After a while, a man entered the room with two boxed meals as well as some toiletries and clothes.

“After you finish eating, take a shower and change into these clothes.”

With that said, the man left.

Moon had been hiding behind Amanda all this time because she had been beaten numerous times in the past two days. Every time she saw these people, she would tremble in fear, as if she had encountered a ghost.

“I don’t want to wear these clothes. I don’t want to sleep with those men. I don’t want to. I don’t want…”

Moon was afraid of these clothes because, on the first day, she was forced to wear revealing attire. However, she would rather die than comply. She even bit one of them, resulting in at beating.

Amanda noticed her fear and comforted her, holding her and saying, “Don’t worry. You don’t have to wear them. They won’t let you go out like this with your current injuries.”

That finally calmed Moon down.

Amanda picked up the boxed meal and began to eat. She was indeed famished. Since fleeing Simon’s house, she had not eaten a single meal or had a sip of water.

In the subsequent days, Elias scoured all the bars and nightclubs in the area, but there was no sign of Amanda. The worst possibility even crossed his mind.

Amanda might be dead.

With what happened to her and the fact that her phone was left behind while drops of blood stained the ground, it was difficult not to consider the possibility of death.

However, the mere thought of this possibility caused Elias excruciating pain.

He refused to believe it. It could not be true.

Elias waited in the mansion for any leads from the bodyguards, but there was no good news. He only received reports of fruitless searches.

“Useless! All of you are useless! You can’t even find one person. What good are you?”

Elias sat in the chair behind his desk as he angrily reprimanded the bodyguards standing. before him.

One by one, the bodyguards lowered their heads, too afraid to speak. They had thoroughly combed through the area, but they just could not find Amanda. They had even checked the airport and train station, but there was no record of her purchasing any ticket under the name of Amanda Bailey.

“Mr. Winters, we were truly meticulous in our search through the area, but she is nowhere to be found…”

“Then, keep searching! Perhaps there are hidden surveillance cameras! Examine the car that was parked there that night. Review the entire dashcam footage! Now, leave!”

“Yes!”

After the bodyguards departed, Elias leaned back in his chair. His long fingers were pressed against his forehead as he stared at Amanda’s phone, lost in thought.

He wondered how she was faring right now.

He firmly believed that she was still alive. She would not be so easily killed.

Suddenly, the phone rang. It was an international long-distance call.

Elias frowned. Why was there an international call? Amanda’s phone didn’t have any saved numbers; it had a completely new SIM card.

He hesitated momentarily, but the phone rang as if determined to keep ringing until the call was answered.

While he did not want to answer someone else’s call without permission, he had no choice but to answer the phone since Amanda was gone.

After much hesitation, Elias finally swiped the screen and answered the call, placing it against his ear.

Before he could utter a word, a child’s voice came through the phone, brimming with. innocence and cuteness. “Mommy, what are you doing? Why haven’t you called me all day? I can’t sleep. I want you to tell me a story.”

The voice of a child…

Elias felt a tightness in his chest. Could this be the son that Amanda mentioned?

He suddenly recalled the day he went to the Nicholsons’ house and heard a child addressing Simon as “Dad” over the phone.

His curiosity was immediately replaced by anger, and he contemplated hanging up. However, the little voice on the other end of the line coquettishly pleaded, “Mommy, why aren’t you talking to me? Today, that strange man was acting weird again. He wanted me to call him Dad, but I won’t call him Dad. I have my own dad. I told him my dad’s name was Elias Winters. He’s not my dad.”

Elias gripped the phone tightly, his entire body stiffening as his pitch-black eyes were filled with shock.

The boy called Elias Dad…

“Mommy, why aren’t you saying anything? What are you doing? Answer me, Mommy! Mommy?”

Elias suddenly felt a surge of excitement. His fingers tightened around the phone as he slowly explained, “I’m not your mommy. I am…”

Before he could finish his sentence, the child exclaimed in surprise, “Dad!”

Elias froze.

The boy had called out Dad just by hearing Elias speak.

What did this mean?

It meant that the boy knew Elias very well. It meant that Elias had always been referred to as Dad, so the child recognized him solely by hearing his voice.

Elias awkwardly replied, “Um, yes, it’s me. It’s late. Why aren’t you sleeping yet, sweetheart? Also, who is making you call him Dad?”

Who was this strange man the child mentioned? Was it Simon?

No. During the visit to the Nicholsons’ house that day, the child had happily addressed Simon as Dad.

“It’s that strange man. That annoying, unfamiliar man who always tricks me into calling him. Dad. I won’t call him that. I have a dad myself. Mommy said I can only call one person Dad.”

Hmph!

Only allowed to call Elias Dad?

What, then, did he hear at Simon’s house that day?

Elias felt a surge of jealousy in his heart. He retorted, “Is that so? Then, why did I hear calling Simon Nicholson Dad?”

“Well… Uncle Simon is different. Uncle Simon is different from Dad. Mommy said I am the child of her and Dad, so I only have one dad.”

Elias now wanted to know why the child was in Esmos, and why he was staying with another man. Who was this man?

“Dear boy, can you tell me why you’re in Esmos? Did Mommy bring you here?”

“No, it was a beautiful lady. The beautiful lady told me Dad was waiting for me here, but she lied. Dad isn’t here at all. However, Mommy promised to take me back home soon. Mr. Yacob is also here. He has been with me every day.”

“Yacob?”

Why did that name sound so familiar? It felt like he had heard it somewhere, but he could not remember where.

The more he pondered, the more his head throbbed.

Ever since the car accident, he would get a headache whenever he exerted his mind.
