Drawn to You: The Billionaire’s Second Wife

Chapter 33

Xavier left for his room after speaking with Vanessa, he couldn’t be himself. He kept thinking about her… her thoughts roamed in his mind.

When he stepped into the room, he found Lillian lying on the bed but he didn’t say a word to her. He laid down as well trying to force himself to sleep but the image of Vanessa kept flashing in his mind.

Gosh! This lady is really taking a place in his heart that he can never get her off his mind.

He turned his neck to glance at Lillian but she was facing the wall, he didn’t mind but slept off instead

After Xavier had left Vanessa, she got on her feet and left for the bathroom. Staring at the mirror opposite her, she didn’t say a word or think of anything.

She left back to the bed and laid down beside Chloe was deep asleep and she smiled.

“What the heck brought Xavier into this room? He is supposed to be asleep by this time…” she questioned inwardly, twisting her face.

She got on her feet again and got seated on the sofa staring around the room.

“I’m very sure that I heard Lilian’s voice, or was it just a dream?” she shook her head. “No, I’m very sure of what I’m saying… I had Lilian’s voice and in a screeching manner.” she pouted her lips and shut her eyes.

“Hope they are not quarreling again because of my presence here tonight?” she got on her feet pacing around the room.

This is just one reason she never wanted to spend the night with Chloe, in order to avoid further quarrels with Lilian… but here she is causing more troubles for the couples.

“I’m just sorry…Yes, I’m sorry for taking this decision just to make Chloe happy. If I had known that it won’t be of any good, I would have just persisted of leaving other than causing more troubles between you and the Xavier

” she murmured, clutching her palms.

She laid back on the bed again and within minutes she dozed off.

Vanessa made sure to get Chloe ready in the morning so she would be able to leave with her siblings not staying behind.

After Tracy and her siblings had left for school she left the building too without a waste of time.

Before they left, Xavier had already left to work leaving Lilian behind as usual.

Lilian had stepped down into the sitting room to find everywhere so quiet, she had thought that Vanessa would be around just as she has always been after the kids leave for school…but to her greatest shock, she was nowhere to be found.

She searched thoroughly in the kitchen and in the rooms including at the backyard but couldn’t find Vanessa.

This got her more irritated as she was planning to scold the lady for staying behind the night, so she left the kitchen and prepared a breakfast for herself, not trying to lay her hands on that of the kids.

When she had got herself certified with the meal, she left her room freshened up and left.

She thought of leaving Xavier’s office but was against it, so she decided to go see a friend who will direct her.

She left the street a bit far from there… There she met an old friend.

The young lady welcomed her into the house and offered her some chilled juice, because she noticed the anger in her through her facial expression.

“It’s high time you visited me, Lillian …now tell me what brought you to my abode.” The young lady referred to her.

She gritted her teeth. “You said it all, Yes… it’s been a long time since I visited you but not just intentional. I have been so busy all this while but there is this favour that I need from you and that’s the reason I’m here.”

“So go ahead and tell me what you need… anything for my baby.”

She heaved a big sigh trying to comport herself. “I want you to direct me to the hoodlum who has been working for you all this while.”

“And what the heck are you doing with a hoodlum? Are you out of your senses?”

She glanced at the lady and bent her head again. “I know you are very shocked but I just need a hoodlum as it stands. I can’t just sit and watch another lady take away my fiance.”

She nodded…”Ohh yes! When are you getting married? It’s high time Xavier engaged you.”

“Anyways, I came over to his home… but there is this one lady working for her and she is trying as much as possible to take my place in his heart and you know what, I can’t let that happen. I just need to deal with that lady so much… I need to take her away from his side no matter what it will cost.”

“That’s not a problem.”

The lady stood and left into her bedroom, she came back with a piece of paper and then handed it over to Lilian.

“This is his contact, make sure you reach him as soon as possible and you know what…? You will have to pay him well in order for your job to be done accurately.”

“There’s no problem with that, I will make sure to treat him well. That lady must get out of that house.” She grabbed the glass of juice and emptied it.

“I’ll have to be on my way now, thank you so much for your effort.” They exchange pleasantries as she was on her feet already.

The lady escorted her out of the room and she left after bidding her goodbye.

Vanessa was so busy in her bakery, she had baked a lot and to her greatest surprise they were all finished… so she had to get more ready in order to get more sales before evening.

When she was done, she began cleaning up the bakery.

While busy with the cleaning, a hand tapped her shoulder drawing her attention.

“Good afternoon sir, what do you want?” she asked the young man who had affixed his stairs on her.

“I am not your boss, so you don’t refer to me that way. I am not here to purchase anything.”

She rolled her eyes in surprise. “Okay then, what do you want?”

“Would you offer me what I want?” the young man replied to her with a question.

She stepped backwards feeling baffled. “I don’t really get what you mean sir, oh sorry… gentlemen. Just tell me what you want and I’ll give it to you.”

“Alright Then… I need you.”

“Huh! How do you mean sir? Do you need me? I don’t really get what you mean.” She referred to the young man while taking a few steps backwards.

“Why are you stepping backwards Miss? Come forward and give me a listening ear.”

“I can’t just do that, you haven’t told me the reason you are in my bakery. If you aren’t here to purchase anything, why don’t you just leave.” She yelled.

The young man smiled. “I can see you are being stubborn… Yes, you’re trying to be stubborn.”

“I am not being stubborn Mr, just tell me what you want and I’ll give it to you then you leave my bakery so I can continue with what I am doing.”

“You shut up your mouth, silly bitch. I thought you would be calm, but you are the opposite of my thinking. Maybe I was mistaking myself for someone else.” He shrieked at her.Content held by NôvelDrama.Org.

“Yes of course, you are mistaking me for someone else. Please can I get this chance?” She uttered politely.

“Never… you can’t when I’m here, just don’t try to take a step.” He retorted.

She felt her heart sinking into her stomach and the rate of her heartbeat increased. She began stepping into the bakery with a few steps.

“And you think leaving in your bakery would save you from my hands now?” He queried.

She shook her head and nodded at the same time. “Just let me be, I don’t have anything to do with you.”

“But I can’t let you be and I’m here for a purpose.” he dashed into the bakery gripping her palm.

Vanessa couldn’t get was going on, she began quivering and then a scorching heat enveloped her instantly, her palms clenched while dripping water

“You are threatening me Mr, just let me go… your hands are hurting me.” she pleaded trying to rescue herself out from his grip, but he held her so tight.

“You tested my patience and then my patience has exhausted, it’s time to pounce on you.” He remarked.

“You can’t just do that to me, let me go. I didn’t offend you in any way.” she pleaded again.

He hit her face the first time and before she could say a word again, he hit her the second time.

“You don’t just talk to a stranger anyhow.”

“But I didn’t insult you… I didn’t use abusive words on you. Now tell me the offense I committed.”

“Shut your mouth, bitch.” he dipped his palm into his pocket bringing out a coloured handkerchief.

“What’s that on your hand?” She questioned amidst fear.

“Shut that sticky mouth.” he yelled, grabbing her neck.

Her mouth let open as she was about to say a word again, but instantly she felt so weak.

“I…. I… am…” she dozed off and fell into his arms.

He lifted her into his arms and left the bakery instantly without taking a glance backwards.
