CHAPTER 31- CHOCOLATE BAR
CHAPTER 31- CHOCOLATE BAR
His words were solemn and sounded serious as if he was making a sincere promise to her. The girl
was still childish, she looked up at him with her worn out depressed eyes and showed him her pinky
finger, "Do you pinky promise?"
Ryan couldn't help but get his straight lips curl up into a smile, he hooked his pinky finger with her
before making his promise to her.
This was illogical, as a grown up boy he never believed on this childish rituals and pinky promises but
seeing that this filled the girl with rays of hope and happiness he gladly put up with it.the tension
between his furrowed eyebrows and the room started to ease out as the girl's sound of chuckling
resounded in the room.
Ryan got up and two boys left after saying goodbye to the little girl who even came down with Miss Lala
to escort them out.
Inside the car Ryan had his eyes hooked on the girl until his car moved out making her disappear from
his sight. Jack said, "She is a really good girl, isn't she?" Ryan chose to stay mum and looked out of
the window, even though this question was responded with a lack of reaction by the boy Jack could still
say that his friend really liked this girl.
Without minding him he further said, "You shouldn't have promised her; she seemed to value that pinky
thing a lot. She will be really disappointed when she will realise you were lying to her."
"Who was lying to whom?" Ryan finally spoke up and looked into his friend's eyes. It didn't take two
seconds for Jack to realise what his friend was saying, his eyes flared open, "Are you serious?"
Ryan's mind flashed with the events that happened hours ago- how she crashed onto him, how she
apologized, how she talked and how she made him promise that he will be back. He only met her for a
day and that too for a couple of hours and still the girl managed to strike a string in his young heart; she
meant something to him that he himself had to figure.
He, of course, was gonna find her again and find answers to his own questions.
That evening Ryan had a long talk with his father seeking permission for him and Jack to go to the
company. When asked that why he was all of a sudden interested in going there Ryan didn't lie and
honestly replied that he promised Catherine that he would come to meet her.
"I am a man, dad. And you taught me that men never go back on their word, especially words they
make to a woman."
Mr. Neguyen didn't find anything suspicious about it, in fact he liked the fact that his son was making
good relationships with the Silva's. They would be meeting each other more in future and this was a
good way of dwelling. Content rights by NôvelDr//ama.Org.
The Neguyen's were one of the oldest Mafia clan in Spain and were thus the most influential. Their
relationship with Silva was that of friendship and harmony; Master Neguyen and President Silva were
friends and decided to corporate when they legally took over their family businesses.
Society worked on unspoken rules- the one with backers took the prize. Silva Inc, which stood mighty
and influential in the city, was started from scrape 15 years ago. The man could only raise up to where
he was today because he had the Neguyen's backing him.
The Mafia stained his hands for the sake of company and in return was provided with partnership and a
legitimate business identity. This was how this worked, the two families worked on a symbiotic
relationship nurturing each other.
Of course, Ryan had no idea about all these serious issues; all he had in his mind was to meet his
angel again.
When President Silva learnt about this new friend of hers from his daughter he was really elated. After
the death of his wife he engaged himself in business to f.divert his mind but it was the little girl who
suffered out of loneliness. He wasn't blind and he was told million times by his employees that he
should give her more time. It was not that he wanted to keep her away from him or be such a terrible
father, he just had no enough time.
Knowing that his little priemc6 had finally found herself some company he arranged for the two boys to
come over to his mansion to play with the girl.
The next day, a private chauffeur came to take the two boys home; Mr. Silva sure was a man of
perfection as he sent his best car to escort the two boys. Ryan owned one of the wealthiest house in
the city and compared to his the businessman's house lacked but still it was descent and noteworthy.
When the car entered the gate Ryan scanned the whole house with his eyes before his eyes landed on
two figures standing at the door. It was an old woman and a little figure holding a large bunny in her
hands.
In her simple outfit of skirt and top, and her hairs tied into two pigtails the girl stood anticipating her
friends arrival.
Ryan's heart skipped several beat when he looked at her smiling face; it was only yesterday he saw
her but he still missed her allure.
"Big brothers!" The girl came running and hugged his waist; one sight and anyone could say she was
really happy to have them over. He knealt down and smiled at her. She cupped his cheeks with her
small palm; her touch, mysteriously sent a wave of electricity down his body shoving him into a daze.
No body else than her ever made him feel so! She said, "You kept your promise!"
"I would have came even if you didn't make me promise." Saying this he pulled out something from his
pocket, it was big bar of milk chocolate that he had prepare for her.
The girl happily accepted it and started showing it to her nanny. Jack looked at the boy and asked,
"When did you prepare that?" Ryan smiled and kept the secret to himself how he spent a long time on
You Tube learning to make chocolate and how many batches of undone chocolate were dumped in his
dustpan in the process of making this simple bar.
"Little Sister, big bro missed you so much." Jack ruffled her hairs before the three went in.
