CHAPTER 20- I WISH YOU CAME A LITTLE EARLIER
CHAPTER 20- I WISH YOU CAME A LITTLE EARLIER
Bee was overjoyed as she walked up to the phone and received it; keeping it on her ears she tried to
hear the other side but to her surprise it was as silent as a graveyard. Bee pushed the phone closer
into her ears but it was still silent; how can Prince Charming be this silent. The girl didn’t mind as she
cheerfully greeted, “Prince Charming, how are you today.”
Ryan stared into void without replying, he had been awfully busy for the last two days and was packed
even now but there was no denying that talking to her felt more important than anything. Every night he
would ask Jack and make sure she was alright there. Seeing him mum the girl said ‘Hello’ quite a few
times before looking up at the maid and replying disheartened, “Phone is broken!”
The man abruptly snapped out of his fantasies when he heard her, without wasting another second he
replied slowly, “I am here.”
Bee heard his charming voice over the phone, it’s been only two days since she heard from him and
she had to admit that she missed him. The man continued, “I am fine. You?”
“I am good... You know what happened today...” The girl excitedly started to tell him every single thing
she did today. Ryan didn’t stop her and would stretch a ‘mmm’ every now and then. Jack whispered to
remind him that he still had work he needed to take care of; the man threw him a nonchalant glace as
he simply shut his laptop and leaned back on his seat. Jack choked on his own saliva, his action were
like a silent proclamation that ‘she is more important than anything’. Jack could only smile helplessly;
while the mob was silent in here the person on the other side wasn’t.
She was already excited about talking to him after a long time and had so much to tell him; without
even asking if he was busy she went on blabbering. The man patiently heard her out and when she
was finally done she went silent out of blue.
In a tone which was low and opposite to her previous self she asked, “When are you coming back?”
The man’s heart skipped a beat as something strange welled up in his heart; he replied, “I will be back
by next week.” He knew his answer would lower her spirits more and as he guessed she went mum
after that.
Is she sad? Ryan tensed up as he got up and walked out of the door; finding himself a place in an
empty balcony not too far away he asked, “Why are you silent?”
The girl breathed out, “I wish you came a little earlier!”
Ryan fell in a trance after hearing this reply; what was she indicating by saying this line. She even
sounded melancholic! Ryan wasn’t able to make out why was she saying that; he had a very low
contact with people especially woman and thus wasn’t able to figure out what was she trying to say.
He abruptly hung up strode back to the Jack; after being hung up on Bee furrowed her eyebrows. Her
cheeks puffed up with anger as she looked up at the maid and complained, “He hung up without saying
a good bye.”
The maid chuckled and pulled her cheeks, “Don’t be mad at Young Master, Miss Bee. He must have
had some urgent work.” Bee was about to say something but was distracted as she picked on a
scrumptious aroma from the kitchen. Drooling her heart out she jumped away into the kitchen.
Back at Houston Ryan stormed back into the room startling poor Jack who was sorting out a deal for
him. He complained angrily, “Did you want to give me a heart attack?”
Ryan ignored him with his own question, “What does a girl mean when she says she wish if I came
earlier.”
Jack was arranging the papers which he just dropped and was looked up at the man, “Bee said that to
you?” Ryan wordlessly nodded. Jack touched his chin and acted all wise, “It’s easy, she is missing
you!”
“Missing me?” He was taken aback when he heard his assistant. Jack nodded and reassured, “Yes, I
feel like she is missing you but I can’t say for sure.
Ryan glared at him before hurriedly dialing back; Jack rolled his eyes, this guy was acting like a high
schooler in love. The phone was picked up immediately and the maid’s polite voice resounded.
“Bee!” The man dragged out. “Yes, Mr. Neguyen.” the maid replied before throwing her glance at the
direction of the kitchen and calling out for Bee. As soon as the ‘Miss, Young master is calling you’ rang
in her ears the girl’s ears she pushed herself away from the table like a kid and ran up to the drawing
room with food stuffed in her mouth.
Without even gulping it she took the receiver and kept it on her ears. She lisped, “Hey, wha did ya
col...” The man directly jumped into the question, “Are you missing me?” “Huh?” The girl was confused
about what he was talking about. He elaborated, “Did you wish I could come earlier because you were
missing me.”
Little Bee nodded over the phone, “Yes, I miss you, Prince Charming.” Wasn’t it obvious that she said
so because she missed me, Prince Charming seemed to be lacing EQ.
While she was nonchalantly chewing her food the room in Houston was heating up. Ryan stood frozen
on hi place as his mind processed the confession she just made. That piece of news about her missing
him was hard to swallow; thinking that he misheard her he asked again, “Are you for real?”
Bee was unable to estimate the value of her words neither was she able to see the expressions that
were erupting inside him. She playfully answered, “It is quite boring without you, if you were here I
would have had someone to play around with. You even left without saying, technically I should be mad
at you. Yes, I am mad at you but I am kind hearted and I will forgive you! Just because I am forgiving
don’t assume that I am happy with what you did... I am still mad at you in the ration of... Ratio of...” She
thought hard to think about an suitable example but couldn’t come up with any. The man helped her
out, “Coffee and sugar?”
She grinned, “Yes.. Yes... Coffee and sugar. Miss is equal to coffee and anger is equal to sugar.”
The man’s heart crept with warmth seeing her giggle; his eyes softened as he asked, “Will you be All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.
happy if I come back soon?” The girl immediately replied, “Yes, I will be!” Sitting on his eat Jack darted
a look of confusion at Ryan, he asked, “What are you thinking?”
Ryan looked at him and ignored him with a faint smile; Jack finally understood what he was gonna do.
He sprang up from his seat and was about to stop him but Ryan spoke first, “I will be back in two
days!”
