Desmond slammed his fist against the wall, his frustration and helplessness evident. "I've failed as a father. I couldn't protect her. I trusted the wrong person."

Suzanne approached him, exuding a calm presence despite her tear-streaked cheeks. Her voice remained gentle and soothing, "Desmond, don't beat yourself up. This isn't Mr. Connor's fault.
