Dirty Little Secret

Chapter 79.THE END

Unice’s PoV

Three weeks have passed, and Ace has finished preparing for our wedding; it is a private wedding ceremony between us, with some of our employees attending, including Tom and Max. I’m now in my room with Zoey, who is doing my make-up because today is my wedding day. After everything we’ve been through with our company and our son Ace’s case being dismissed by the court, today is the proudest day of my life.

“I can’t believe today will be so special; you’re getting married!” Zoey complimented me on my face, and I smiled while checking myself in the mirror.

“Thank heavens, by the way, I called the orphanage from which I came and invited the sister or caretaker who looks after me; she is now elderly, but I want to thank her and show her that I am doing well,” while brushing my hair, I explained to Zoey.

“Great! But is she happy for you?” Zoey exclaimed as she finished applying my make-up.

“Yes, she is pleased. I also introduce my son Aaron to her. She suggested that if I have time, I visit the orphanage with my son,” I marveled to Zoey, and the next thing she’d do was style my hair.

After a few minutes, we arrived at the church that would be our venue; it was well-organized because I chose it. I look over at Sister Rose and touch her hand.

“Congratulations on your marriage! I wish you happiness in your family. Unice, the last time I saw you, you were going to college and had decided to get a job and look for an apartment to live in.” Sister congratulated me, and I returned her smile.

“I’m grateful for everything you did for me; if there is anything else you need, please don’t hesitate, and thank you for taking care of me when my parents died,” I thanked her. The big door opened, and I heard clapping and applause, and the sound of the piano began.

I began to amble to the altar, holding Sister’s hand as she guided me. Her name is Rose. Still, I want to call her sister because that is what I used to call her. She was the one who took care of me. I arrive at the altar, and I can see Ace standing wearing his tuxedo. I saw my son standing beside him, also wearing a tuxedo.

Sister shook Ace’s hand and thanked her for her assistance; in the last two weeks, I introduced Ace to her because she didn’t know him, and she was surprised when I told her everything that had happened in our lives. However, she is still thankful that I didn’t become a criminal.

The priest began speaking, and I listened; we exchanged necessary phrases. Ace holds my two hands while the priest says, we will put on the wedding ring.

“This is the best day for the two of us; I’m so glad you’re mine forever,” Ace babbled his way through, putting the wedding ring on my left hand’s ring finger.

“I’m glad I met you; you’re not like my abusive ex-boyfriend. I know there have been a lot of changes, but we’ve fought our way through those challenges, and I’m proud of where we are now,” I told him, and he laughed.

“Of course, I’m not like him. Thank you for not giving up after those years without me, I really love you, and I can’t hurt or leave you behind,” Ace said with a big grin, and we finished putting our wedding rings on our ring fingers.

“For as much as Ace Shelton and Unice Venixe have agreed in holy wedlock, and have witnessed the same before God and this company, and have pledged their faith to each other, and have declared the same by joining hands and giving and receiving rings; I now pronounce you husband and wife. You are now permitted to kiss the bride.” Ace lifted my veil after the priest announced it, and he looked around at everyone, cheering and applauding for us.

“Do you want me to save the kiss for later?” Ace whispered to me, and I was taken aback and a little shy.

“Does it have anything to do with our son being here?” I replied, and he nodded; I laughed and giggled, then I decided to give him a smacking kiss.

“Smack will do,” I suggested to Ace after kissing him on the cheeks and seeing him smile. I turned around to see everyone clapping and throwing flower petals in the air as our guests celebrated our wedding with us.

Later that evening, Ace and I are still celebrating our wedding, along with Zoey and the others, Max, Charlie, Tom, and Justin. We have officially hired our own catering services, and we choose the food for our guests. Someone touched me, and it was my son Aaron.NôvelDrama.Org content rights.

“When is this going to end, Mom? I’m exhausted,” Ace looked at his son as Aaron complained.

“I need to dance with your mom, but we need to finish eating first, don’t worry,” Ace insisted, and Aaron nodded as he continued to eat.

“If we didn’t have a child, we could stay here longer at the venue, but our son needs to rest as well,” Ace explained as I sipped my glass of wine.

“You are correct and will go to work tomorrow, correct?” I inquired, but he shook his head.

“I took a day off tomorrow because we’re tired, and we can file our leave at the company because it’s our special day,” Ace proposed, and I nodded. I had finished eating when Zoey called me while holding her brand-new camera. Our photographer is taking the shot.

“Can we take a picture before you two dance?” Zoey asked, and I nodded before rising from my seat.

We took pictures, and the next one was with Aaron, who stood in the center and smiled when Zoey took the picture. She had a camera; I believe she bought it because she loves photography.

“I’ll send you this picture to post on social media,” Zoey said, and I nodded.

“Would you like to dance right now?” Ace’s question stopped me from returning to our seats.

“We need music if we’re going to dance,” I replied, and he went to the man in charge of the sound system and said something to the crew that I wasn’t sure about.

Ace returned to me, holding my hand, and I believe he suggested what music we should listen to because we were going to dance. He placed his hand on my waist, and I put my other hand on his shoulder.

I heard the music start playing, and we began to dance. I hope this goes well because we just practiced it. While dancing, I listened to the other visitors clapping their hands. I also heard Zoey’s voice cheering for us, and my heart was racing because this was my first dance, and it was with him.

“You’re my first dance; am I yours as well?” Ace inquired, and I returned his gaze as we moved.

“Yes, what kind of question is that? You are my first, and you will be my last because we will be together forever,” I remarked as I moved closer to him. He hugged my waist while we continued to dance around.

“Do you remember when I said I’d return? I know you were hurt when you walked away from me, but I knew it was for the best and that those seven years had paid off,” Ace claimed, referring to the day he was arrested.

“I had no idea anyone would notice that.” As we danced, I whispered.

“We loved each other, and I was hurt when we parted ways,” Ace said, and he stopped moving, which was why I was confused.

“What made you stop?” I questioned him about why he abruptly stopped dancing.

“I need to tell you something you won’t forget,” Ace added, and I looked around to see that they were still waiting for us to continue dancing.

“Why don’t you say it later? Everyone is staring at us, and I believe you are about to say something inappropriate,” I chuckled and giggled at him, but he shook his head.

“Thank you for everything; you have changed my life for the better. I promise to be a good husband to you no matter what happens; no matter what challenges come our way, we will face them together as a family. I promise I will not abandon you or our son again, and I will retire now as a boss to a group of men.” Ace thanked me, which puzzled me.

“Since my parents’ deaths, you have provided me with light, hope, and everything I require in my life. You show me that people can still change for the better and make amends for their mistakes.” Ace sobbed, and I began to cry.

“Unice, I love you. Let us begin a new chapter in our lives with fond memories of our son Aaron.” Ace said and hugged me, and the guests here began to clap even though they hadn’t heard what Ace had said.

“Ace, I love you as well. I will be a good wife and take care of our son; we will live in peace and continue with the company you have founded,” I assured him, and when I saw Aaron approaching us, he joined us.

“I’d like a hug, too, Mom!” Aaron requested, and Ace let go, and we had a group hug while I was in tears of joy.

Through this process in my life, I have learned that we can still remember the past we are walking through and recognize the painful memories that have happened in our lives. Still, we must think ahead for the future. There will be sacrifices and challenges, and people will come and go in our lives, but the important thing is never to lose that focus and drive on what you have wanted. Hard work and dedication will soon pay off, and you should have faith in the process of what you’re doing and trying to achieve because hard work pays off and dreams come true.
