Chapter 67
Ace’s PoV
The time has come to call Christian and inform him that I have his father alive and will kill him if he does not come into my house. Still, he is unaware that I have already killed his father and that he is next on the list. I smirked as Max entered the office and handed me the contract I had written for Unice.
“Are you certain about this? You don’t need our assistance tonight?” Max approached me, and I signed the contract.
“Thank you, but I know you want to help me, but not with this one; I’ll do it on my own, and I don’t want you to get involved. Tonight, you will leave the basement with no trace, especially Edward’s car; remove all evidence and ensure there is no trace,” I advised Max after I signed the contract. This is my fight, and I don’t want anyone else to get involved.
“All right, then I’ll do that, and I’ll also transfer Unice to a new house you buy for her so she can be safe,” Max responded as I returned his smile.
“She has no idea that I bought a new house just for her; when the police arrive, you must act as if Unice is your friend or relative, and she was kidnapped as well,” I explained. He was surprised, but it was for the better.
“I don’t want her to get arrested because of me; I want her to live wherever she wants until I come out, hopefully with a pardon,” I clarified to Max as he nodded. I handed him the contract I had just signed.
“By the way, I’ll be going home early; I need to contact Christian. First, he thought I wouldn’t notice he’s stalking Unice and me,” I said as I looked at my desk, a picture of Unice and me at the mall wearing her engagement ring.
“I’m going to make this known to the employees.” Max was certain.
“Wait for this time, let me do it; I’ll be the one to announce it because I’m the CEO here,” I retorted to Max, stopping him from leaving my office.
“Alright, I’ll leave the contract here on your desk,” Max said, and I nodded as he exited my office.
I picked up the phone and dialed Christian’s number, which I found while researching his personal information. He answered the phone, and I knew he didn’t know who I was. This strategy will work.
[Who is this?] Christian picked up the phone and answered my call.
“My name is Ace Shelton, and it’s a pleasure to meet you.” I returned his greeting. He seemed surprised that I knew his phone number.
[How did you get this phone number? How dare you call me? What happened to my father? I know he’s on your side!] Christian stated.
“Calm down; I’ve got him. You’re right. If you want him back alive, come to my house tonight at 8 p. m., and you’ll see him alive,” I told him. I know he’ll come to my house because he wants to see his father, but he has no idea I’m about to end his life.
[I’ll come to your house because I already know the address; let’s end this with a fight later,] Christian boasted as he hung up the phone.
I stood up from my seat and picked up my coat, it was 2 p. m. already, and I didn’t eat any lunch today because I was too busy; I went out of my office while holding the contract and announced to my employee that Unice will be temporary to hold my company I know someone will be confused on my announcement right now, but this is for the better.
“Good afternoon, sir; are you departing early?” When one of my employees approached, I paused to fix my coat.
“Everyone! I just wanted to thank you for all of your hard work. I have an important announcement now that I’m here with you all. If anyone is taking a day off, please forward this announcement to them,” I began to explain to my employees, and they all nodded and began to listen to what I had to say.
As I announce, all my company’s departments gather, including finance, accounting, administration, marketing, security, logistics, and operations.
“I will pass my position to someone I trust, which is my fiancée; she will be the temporary CEO of my company until I settle my personal problems; however, respect her at all times as you respect me as your CEO of this company; without your help, this company will not stand because of all of you; I know we are not all that close, but I believe in your abilities,” I explained to them, and they were all speechless.
“With all due respect, does your fiancé have prior experience working here?” I look back at the other employee who is questioning me.
“Yes, she has the experience and is willing to take this company if I have personal problems,” I clarified. They all nodded, thankful that they understood what I was saying and that this was for the better of the company’s future.
“We understand, sir; take care always, and we’ll throw you a big welcome party if you come back someday!” Another of my employees consoled the situation, smiling and clapping as they did so.
“Thank you for understanding; I’m not sure when I’ll return, but if I do, you’ll see me. Whatever happens, never leave my fiance’s side if this company struggles,” I told them, showing them my contract.
“This is Unice’s contract, and proof signs it already, and I will pass it to her today. Again, Thank you for all of your efforts,” I said as I took one last look at them and my company.
After thanking my employees and each department, I walk away and take the elevator to the ground floor, where the parking lot is. When I arrive, I exit the elevator, walk to my car, open the door, place the document beside me, and buckle my seat belt.
I started the engine, and while driving, I was thinking about Unice’s safety and what would happen to the future of the company that I had built; I’m afraid I don’t know why, but I changed when Unice entered my life. I’m afraid now and don’t want to lose what’s most important to me.
I’m afraid that if she’s pregnant, I’ll hurt her if I don’t finish the next plan; I need to finish what I started, and today is the day for that plan to be completed. I need to tell Unice everything I have planned for today. After a few minutes, I returned home and saw Tom and Justin outside, still guarding. I need to inform those two.
I park my car in the garage, unbuckle my seat belt, and exit my vehicle; I approach them as they patrol the area.
“Boss, you’re home early today; do you have anything to say to us?” When they inquired, I decided to tell them first, before Unice.
“I need you two to go through the basement and leave no trace. I’ve already informed Max of my plan for today; I’m going to kill Christian, Edward’s son, and put an end to this once and for all,” I announced to them, leaving them speechless.
“Whatever you want, boss,” Tom said, and I nodded. I turned around because I heard someone open the door, and there was Unice with cookies on a tray.
“I didn’t realize you got home early; I’m sorry if you saw this baking of mine. I just want to offer it to the two. They’ve been guarding your house and me for a long time,” Unice chuckled as I approached her and selected a cookie.
“I’ll eat this instead. Let’s go inside. I have something to tell you,” I told her as we entered the house.Property © of NôvelDrama.Org.
“Are you envious of Tom and Justin?” Unice puzzled me as we entered the living room, and she placed the tray of cookies on a small table.
“I’m not jealous because I know how nice you are; sit here beside me, and I’ll tell you something important,” I retorted, and she sat next to me.
“What exactly do you want to tell me?” Unice asked me a question. I must inform her of my plans.
“I’m inviting Christian today; he’ll arrive around 8 p. m., and I’m ready to kill another and end all of this,” I explained. She was taken aback; she didn’t know what to say.
“Do I have to dress up as a maid and seduce him?” Unice asked, and I nodded.
“Do you mind if I hurt your hand?” When I asked Unice that, she was taken aback.
“Are you planning to sever my arm?” She asks, and I nod, pointing to the arm where I will injure her.
“It’s proof that you, too, are a victim; I kidnapped and injured you; I’ll leave a scar there, is that okay?” I asked her a question, and she looked at her right palm while I was touching it.
“It’s fine with me; it’ll be treated after the incident tonight,” Unice accepted, hugging me.
“If you’re really arrested, I’m going to miss you,” Unice sobbed, and I hugged her back. I’m sad right now, but I know this has to end.
If she had come into my life sooner, maybe I wouldn’t have done this revenge, and maybe I’d be a better person, but I have to face the future and face the consequences of what I’ve done.
