Despicable Roommate

Get back together

Since he didn’t bother to reply to my knock, I decided to open the door and find out what he was up to. I didn’t like going to bed sad and angry. I was not going to get any sleep if I did not work out our problems. The light was off and the room was fairly dark, with little light coming through the window.

I could hear Alec’s breathing and I was pretty sure he was still awake. I climbed on the bed and snuggled close to him. I felt his body stiffen but he didn’t make a move. After lying there for some minutes, I sat up on the edge of the bed, staring at her Alec as he lay there with his eyes closed, and acting like he didn’t know I was there. I had tried to seduce him, by touching for the last half hour, but he seemed determined to ignore me.

I leaned back on the bed and crossed my legs, hoping the movement would catch his attention. But he continued to sleep, not even opening his eyes. Frustrated, I huffed and sat up again. “Alec, I know you’re awake. I’ve been trying to get your attention all night but you seemed determined to ignore me. I can’t sleep, and I know you can’t either.”

Alec got up and reached out to turn the lamp on, and gave me a confused look. “What are you doing here? You should be in your bed.”

“I can’t sleep when we’re not on good terms. I couldn’t stop thinking about you.”

Alec sighed. “I can’t do this right now.”

I pouted and crossed my arms. “I’m very sorry for what I said. Please forgive me.”

Alec sighed and wrapped his arms around me. “Of course I can. I’m sorry for judging your new friends and treating you like a child. You can be friends with whoever you want, all I want is for you to be safe. I understand that you’re missing your friends and I’m sorry for not seeing that earlier.”

I grinned and leaned in to kiss him. “I understand perfectly. Thanks.”

The bedroom was dark and quiet, the only sound being our rough breathing as we locked ourselves in a passionate embrace. My hands were tangled in Alec’s hair as we kissed deeply, our lips moving hungrily against each other.

Alec’s hands were exploring my body, pulling me closer to him as he tasted my lips, his tongue exploring the depths of my mouth. I moaned softly, pressing myself against him as the heat inside me grew.

We broke the kiss for a moment to catch our breath, panting and staring at each other with wild, lustful eyes. Alec literally growled, his hand sliding down to my waist and pulling me even closer, his lips crashing down onto mine once more. I wrapped my arms around his neck, pulling him even closer as we kissed roughly, our mouths and tongues working together in a frenzied dance.

As the kiss deepened, his hands roamed freely over my body, his fingers exploring every inch of skin. Alec’s hands slid down to my hips, pulling me against him. I moaned softly, my own hands moving down to his chest, fingers trailing over the ripples of muscle.

The next day, I woke up early and made breakfast for both of us. To show that he was okay with my decision to befriend Jessie and Lauren, he let me get into Jessie’s car instead of his when we found her in the parking yard. I smiled, and went to join my two new friends.

“I see he came around,” Jessie commented. “I thought he would be mad at you.”

“He was mad, but I have my own ways of getting him to calm down. I’m very sorry for how he treated you. He is not a bad guy, but he was just stressed yesterday and that’s why he was rude to you.”

“It’s okay,” Jessie said. “We totally understand. We are strangers. We had no business going to you guys’ apartment. Besides, it was a surprise visit and some people hate that.”

“I’m really sorry. He won’t be like that next time, I promise.”

“Alright,” Lauren said as we hit the road. A few minutes later, we arrived at the campus.

Sitting in the backseat of Jessie’s nice car, I couldn’t help but think about Kari and Jen. We had been estranged for weeks now, and the distance felt like it was only growing. Each passing day made me feel like we would never be friends again and that hurt a lot.

I looked out the window as we drove through the college campus, memories of all the fun I used to have with my friends flooding back to me. I remembered the late nights spent laughing and talking, the impromptu road trips we took on a whim, and all the inside jokes we shared. Now I was with Jessie and Lauren who had inside jokes I didn’t understand. As time went by, I realized those two could not replace my friends.

But now, I felt like she was missing out on all the fun, and it was like I had left a part of herself behind as well when I left them.

Lauren turned around to look at me. “Hey, are you okay?” she asked. “You seem a little quiet.”

I forced a smile. “I’m fine,” I replied, trying to push the thoughts of my old friends to the back of my mind. “Just a little homesick, I guess.”

Lauren nodded sympathetically. “I know it can be tough adjusting to new friends,” she said. “But we’re here for you, and I’m sure you’ll get used to us in no time.”

I appreciated the kind words of Jessie’s roommate, but I couldn’t shake the feeling that something was missing in my life. I missed the familiarity and comfort of my old friends, and she wondered if I would ever be able to reconnect with them.

As the car pulled up to the hall that housed my classroom, I knew that I needed to let go of the past and focus on the present. I smiled at the two young ladies at the front and made a silent promise to myself to make the most of the new friendships I was building. Grabbing my stuff, I got out of the car.

“Have a nice day, both of you.”

“See you later,” Jessie said before driving off.

When I turned to go into the hall, I saw Jen and Kari staring at me from a distance. I lifted my hand and waved at them. Jen waved at me, and Kari glared at her. They started arguing in low tones. Sighing, I proceeded to the class.

Now that they had seen me with new friends, and I had caused an argument between them, it was going to be harder for us to get back together.
