Bond 183
Hector POV
"She's doing well." My jaw tenses as I feel my wolf making the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. His fur was being ruffled. I did not like answering that question.
"She's forgotten everything...everything?" He looks at me with a quirked eyebrow, was he really questioning the validity of the reports. That the acting Luna of the rogue pack had lost her memory. This wasn't an opportunity for him to take advantage of, for him to cast doubt on what he had put Kaia through.
He still doesn't understand the severity of what he did, he still truly thinks that he just gave into the mate bond. He really was beyond redemption.
If I didn't need him alive for these papers to be signed I would kill him where he stood.
I can't make Kaia a widow, she needs to be completely rid of him. All traces of him gone from her life.
Once the papers were filed and the divorce final, if I ever lay eyes on him again, it would be a fight to the
death.
"Yes, but I haven't so watch your tongue." I bite back, my body standing... leaning over my desk in an aggressive manner. One wrong word and I will jump over this desk and knock him to the ground. "Are they signed?" I seethe.
"Yes."
"Good." I go to put them in my desk drawer for now until he has gone and I can put them in my safe, when I hear her coming down the stairs.
Goddess, no.
"Hector?" Her sweet tones call out to me just as she enters the door frame gently tapping on the door.
"Oh, I didn't realise you had company. I'll come back." She looks at Than from the back and he tenses, not daring to turn and look at her.
She looked sexy as hell in a pair of exercise shorts and a sports vest, her hair tied back in a high pony tail... a few loose strands cascading down around her face. She was dressed to train.
A part of me wants her to run back upstairs, wants her to be miles from him, oceans away from him. But why should she be the one to hide, why should she be the one to cower.
"No Kaia it's fine." I gesture for her to walk farther into the office. My wolf is pushing beneath the surface asking me what the hell I am doing. But she would see him, at some point, and if seeing him triggered a flashback I would rather it be with me, in the safety of our home, of our pack.
I would rather we were together when she faced her past.
Her eyes continue to scan him as she makes her way past him towards me.
I can tell she is looking at him to see whether she remembers him, whether she recognises the man before me.
"This is Than, Alpha of the Amber Desert pack." I announce, her eyes widening as she understands that this is my younger half brother.
By blood only.
"Oh hello, nice to meet you." She smiles softly at him and he could be a better actor. He is looking at her as if she has 2 heads. It's like hearing sharp nails scrapping down a chalkboard as she greets him with

He takes a step towards her and she doesn't flinch, but I do.
It takes all my energy against my wolf to let her continue to stand upright before him. To show him the luna she truly was, the luna he should have let her be.

A part of me hopes that one day he will realise what he let go, what he destroyed...but part of me also doesn't want him to ever think of her.
She was mine, and it makes me feel sick to think he ever had his grubby paws all over her.
She doesn't shy away, she doesn't react at all to his presence...relief washing over me, she really doesn't remember him.
"Come here." I demand softly at her, needing her next to me.
At first she eyes my hand with suspicion and I think she is going to leave me hanging in front of him. But she doesn't. She grasps at my outstretched hand, her touch creating an explosion of tingles on my palm. As she takes it I sit back down, pulling her into me and safely keep her placed on my lap.
