Dear Ex-wife Marry Me

Chapter 293

She didn’t reply to the message, acting as if she hadn’t seen it.

At the hospital, she bumped into the same cat she saw yesterday. It seemed to be back for a follow–

up.

But this time, it wasn’t Carlene who brought the cat, but the servant from last night.

There were still visible finger imprints on the servant’s face, clear signs of Carlene’s heavy–handed

smack from the night before.

The cat was placed in a cage, taken out by the servant, and handed over to the vet for examination.

As the vet walked past Maja with the cat, she couldn’t help but marvel at how beautiful it was. It was

the most gorgeous cat she had ever seen.

Its blue eyes were like the ocean, and its fur was so lush it made you want to reach out and pet it.

But remembering it was Carlene’s cat, she restrained herself and went to see Coco.

Coco seemed to be in better spirits today, wagging its tail in its cage when it saw her.

Due to its healing wound, the vet kept it in a cage to prevent it from running around.

But Maja had always let Coco roam free. There was ample space in the room at the back of Rosewood

Manor, so it never felt uncomfortable.

Seeing Coco in a cage now, she felt a pang of sadness.

“Can I take Coco home the day after tomorrow, doc?”

“Yeah, just remember to apply for the medicine every day.”

Maja nodded, gently stroking Coco’s head.

After spending some time with it, she left the pet hospital, planning to go home.

The hospital wasn’t located on a bustling street but in a quiet residential area that catered to the

surrounding residents.

As she was about to head to her parked car, she heard the servant crying, and the cage now was

empty.

As she had to pass by her, Maja asked, “Did the cat run away?”

The servant was a young girl, looking panicked and lost.

“Yes, what do I do? Ms. Shepard will blame me. The cat cost $20,000; I can’t afford to pay for it.”

“Look around the area; maybe put up some notices.”

A luxury car pulled up not far away. Carlene got out, her face tense.

“What happened? Where’s the cat?”

The servant was startled, not understanding why Carlene was here suddenly, and quickly stood up,

wiping away her tears.

“Ms. Shepard…”

Carlene didn’t bring lan with her today because he had a fever and was already at Rosewood Manor.

She was on her way to dinner at Rosewood Manor but still worried about her cat. Seeing the empty

cage, ber expression turned

grim.

“Did you lose the cat?”

The servant turned pale with fear, suddenly noticing Maja standing nearby, and quickly shifted the

blame.

“I’m sorry, Ms. Shepard, she suddenly wanted to pet the cat, so I opened the cage. I didn’t expect the

cat to run away.”

Maja, who was about to leave, looked surprised at these words.

The servant dared not meet her eyes, keeping her head down as she sobbed.

“I tried to stop her, but she seemed to know Mr. Raymond, so…” Content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.

Carlene was fuming. She was already suspicious of Penny and lan having an affair, and now she had

lost her cat.

Her gaze shifted to Maja, her expression chilling.

“Penny, if you don’t find my cat within two hours, I swear I’ll ensure you never find work in the design

industry again. That includes getting lan to fire you.”

Maja raised an eyebrow, amused. “Whatever.”

The servant was startled, expecting Maja to deny the accusations. But when she didn’t, the servant

was relieved.

Maja noticed the change in her expression and gave her a cold smile.

She looked around, noticing there were no surveillance cameras in the residential area. No wonder the

servant dared to frame her.

“I don’t like being falsely accused. Your cat has nothing to do with me. If you’re just using this as an

excuse to give me a hard time, then whatever I say will be wrong.”

When Carlene arrived, Maja knew she had some serious beef with her.

But why?

Didn’t she and lan seem quite close just last night?
