Dear Ex-wife Marry Me

Chapter 282

Maja was now back at the Rosewood Manor. She called Nathan on the way to tell him she wasn’t

going to make it.

Nathan felt a bit bummed out and immediately called his ex–girlfriend.

If he couldn’t chase after Mają, he might as well find another lady to keep him company. After all, he’d

already paid for dinner. He couldn’t let it go to waste.

Back at Rosewood Manor, Maja still felt this tingling sensation on her skin, like she had been kissed all

over. It was so intense that it felt like it reached down to her bones.

Apart from that one night, she had never been this close to a man before.

She quickly filled up the bathtub and undressed. She blushed and couldn’t bear to look at the red

marks all over her body. She quickly submerged herself in the bath.

After a soothing bath, the itch that seemed to be scratching at her marrow gradually subsided.

She got up, wearing her nightgown, and heard Maria at the door.

“Ms. Pennyfeather, you seemed rushed when you got in. Are you not feeling well?”

Maja glanced at the marks on her neck, knowing she wouldn’t be able to face people for a while, and

quickly wrapped a scarf around her neck.

When she opened the door, Maria carefully looked her up and down, then sighed in relief.

“Thank God you’re okay. I was worried something had happened. I was actually about to call you. Coco

threw up suddenly tonight. NôvelDrama.Org owns this.

I

I didn’t know what to do, so I was wondering if we should take her to the vet.”

Hearing about Coco’s condition, Maja rushed to the back room.

She found Coco slouched on the floor, looking lethargic.

Maja was startled and immediately picked her up.

“Maria, I’ll take Coco to the vet.”

Maria was too old to be out this late.

Maja quickly changed into her outdoor clothes, put Coco in the car, and drove straight to the biggest

pet hospital in Greenfield.

Rosewood Manor was in a prime location. Greenfield’s richest villas were nearby, so the pet hospital

was in the same area to cater to the wealthy.

Maja had never been to this pet hospital before, but she hastily brought Coco there this time.

Just as she handed Coco to the doctor, a cat was also brought in. It was a noble Ragdoll cat, that had

apparently swallowed a piece of yarn, half of which was still in its mouth, so it couldn’t be pulled out

casually.

Maja sat aside, her neck wrapped in a scarf, waiting for the doctor to finish examining Coco and explain

the situation to her.

Ten minutes later, the doctor came over.

“Miss Penny, Coco seems to have swallowed a pebble. We’ve seen other dogs with similar issues

before. Luckily, Coco only swallowed one. Last month, a Labrador swallowed five pebbles.”

“Does Coco need surgery?”

The doctor nodded, about to continue explaining, when the door to the pet hospital was pushed open.

Carlene and lan appeared

at the entrance.

Carlene looked anxious, and the servant who brought in the Ragdoll cat, upon seeing her, shuddered.

“Ms. Shepard…”

Before he could finish, Carlene slapped him across the face.

“Why were you not careful? Didn’t I tell you to be careful? Do you know how important it is to me?”

Carlene, her face red with anger, didn’t look at anyone and quickly walked inside.

The slapped servant just stood in the corner, and his eyes was red and swollen, not daring to speak.

Maja, sitting on the sofa, had been stiff with tension since she saw lan.

Now that Carlène was upstairs with the doctor to check on the cat, lan was alone, slowly walking

towards the sofa. Maja felt the air around her become oppressive.

The space next to her on the sofa sank down, and he turned his head to look at her.

Maja managed an awkward smile, “Mr. Raymond, what a coincidence.”
