Dear Ex-wife Marry Me

Chapter 1855

Felix nodded before asking, "Did you see Abner?"

"Yeah, I did. He seemed to know everything already. Didn't say much, just told me to focus on my work."

"Right."

For the next three days, Felix didn't utter a single word in front of Carol.

If it weren't for the voice recordings on her phone, Carol would think he despised sharing the same roof with her.

The more she thought about it, the angrier she got, hating herself for being emotionally swayed by him, yet unable to resist asking.

"If you're really that uncomfortable, why don't you just move out? That villa you bought for Listina has been empty, hasn't it?"

Felix shuddered, "I sold the villa. I sent her some cash-enough for her education-and I don't plan to do anything else for her." Carol didn't respond, unsure of her own feelings.

His silence had been irksome, but now that he was talking, she was even more annoyed.

It felt like even his breathing was a mistake.

"Carol, how about I cook tonight? What are you in the mood for?"

A wave of anger inside Carol subsided. It had been a while since she'd had anything he'd made.

But the thought that his cooking skills were honed for Listina darkened her mood again.

Was she really so pathetic as to accept Listina's leftovers?

A lump formed in her throat as she replied coldly, "No need, we have a personal chef."

Felix fell silent, not daring to say more.

After an awkward three minutes, he ventured, "I've been learning new recipes, things I've never made before."

"So, everything you've made for me before was something you'd made for someone else?" she asked, a trap laid bare.

It was a question loaded with peril. His fingers tightened on the documents he was holding, and he answered honestly, "Some I've made before, some I haven't."

Carol, spoiled by Abner's doting and prone to making a scene, stood up sharply, "Forget it. I'm having dinner at Maja's tonight."

"I'll go to Greenfield Gardens then," he replied.

Carol nearly stumbled but kept her composure, hardly believing Felix would actually go.

After getting ready upstairs and grabbing her purse, she found Felix was gone, probably off to a meeting at the office.

She didn't head straight to

Greenfield Gardens, instead discussing upcoming floral

arrangements with the gardener and

her meal preferences with the chef

for the following month before

leisurely making her way to Maja's.

But she hadn't informed Maja of her plans, so her friend was surprised upon her arrival.

"Carol?"

"Just thought I'd drop by for a meal."

However, Carol noticed that Greenfield Gardens seemed to be festively decorated, with streamers and cheerful adornments in the hall. "What's all this?" she asked, puzzled.

"It's a pre-baby celebration. Ian wanted to have a dinner party ahead of time. I thought you knew. Mr. Brown came early to start cooking." Carol's mouth twitched. She truly had no idea.Upstodatee from Novel(D)ra/m/a.O(r)g

It was only three in the afternoon, and Felix was already there?

He was actually at Greenfield Gardens cooking?

Had he lost his mind?

Suddenly at a loss for words, Carol allowed Maja to guide her to the sofa.

Her gaze drifted toward the kitchen, where she caught a glimpse of Felix's sleeve; he was consulting with the Greenfield Gardens' chef, and they seemed to be in agreement.

Maja wasn't pressured by Felix's decision to cook.

Let him cook if he wanted; as long as he wasn't poisoning anyone.

Today's gathering was quite large, with Tyler Fitch, and a few folks from the Star Movie group

attending. Even Omar showed up, along with the most unexpected guest-Abner Olson.

As for Dylan and Beck, they had been at Greenfield Gardens all along, apparently waiting for Maja to give birth safely before planning a trip back to North America.

Dr. Sarah had brought lan's medication, having worked overtime to create a successful formula.

Maja looked at her friend, with so much to say yet unsure where to begin.

It was Dr. Sarah who finally broke the silence, patting Maja's shoulder and saying after a pause, "Just take care of yourself."
