Dear Ex-wife Marry Me

Chapter 1843

Carol didn't even know who to hate anymore. If only she could bear to let Felix meet his maker, that very moment he leapt, she wouldn't be so distraught, so pathetically begging for tto rewind.

How could there be such a despicable man in this world, one that could make your skin crawl? She fell silent; it seemed anything she said would be superfluous.

The helicopter made its way towards the Greenfield Hotel, and Carol's mind was a scrambled mess.

That she hadn't gone mad or fainted was a testament to her sheer willpower.

Upon landing, a stylist touched up her appearance while Felix was whisked away to change into a fresh suit.

As she was led onto the red carpet, her mind was still in disarray.

She had no idea how someone else might have resisted in her place; she simply lacked the energy.

So tired, as if she might fall asleep any second.

But that last shred of strength kept her awake. She couldn't sleep.

When he took her hand, she didn't even have the strength to pull away.

When they approached the hotel entrance, the anxiously waiting guests erupted into applause.

Carol barely saw their faces; she numbly allowed him to lead her by the hand, and walked slowly onto the stage under the watchful eyes of the crowd.

The emcee said something, but Carol didn't listen; her eyes were vacant.

Felix answered for her, "She's willing. No more questions, please." The murmurs below quieted for a moment before the guests began to whisper amongst themselves again.

Carol watched Felix shamelessly interact with the emcee, watched his smile, and suddenly had an urge to slap him.

But her fingertips merely twitched before falling limply to her side.

Then she saw Abner sitting nearby.

Her pupils dilated, and her face turned deathly pale in an instant.

Felix moved closer to whisper to her.

"The affidavit was delivered to the police last night; he's been released. I've purchased an estate near the Miller family's villa. He'll live there from now on, with a full-tdoctor to look after him. You just focus on taking care of yourself and the baby." Carol's eyelashes fluttered as she looked up at him.

An affidavit? Felix had drawn up an affidavit? She forced a smile, looking away, clearly unwilling to engage with him.

Unfazed, Felix kissed the top of her head and then led her away.

The ceremony was brief, and the guests had already started dining.

As she was escorted to the car, Maja quickly approached.

Carol's message the night before had been vague, and though Maja had sent help, there was no mention of helicopters or anything tic. Carol probably just wanted to stir things up, unable to let go of Abner in prison. "Carol." Maja called out, attempting to approach.

But Felix wrapped Carol in his arms, and said in a gentle tone. RêAd lat𝙚St chapters at Novel(D)ra/ma.Org Only

"Carol's pregnant. In the future, Ms. Pennyfeather, you needn't bother with these schemes. A child shouldn't grow up in a broken home." Maja's pupils shrunk. "What are you talking about?" She hadn't heard about Carol being pregnant.

Hadn't Carol always said they were careful about contraception? Felix looked down; he got the emotionally numbed Carol into the car, then closed the door before turning to Maja.

"She's pregnant, Maja. You just worry about lan and live your life. Don't meddle in our affairs." "She's always been on birth control. How could she be pregnant?" "Because I replaced her birth control pills with vitamins." ne He smiled as he said this, "Why else would I issue an affidavit? If she wasn't pregnant, the moment I drew up that affidavit, she'd have left. Now, with the baby, she's more likely to stay. So stay out of it. You wouldn't want her child to be born fatherless, right?" Unable to contain herself, Maja slapped him across the face.

Felix's cheek, already swollen, now bore the mark of her hand and a trace of blood at the corner of his mouth.

With a self-deprecating gesture, he licked the blood, "For the sake of the child, you better go back to lan and take care of yourself." "Scum, despicable! You couldn't possibly love Carol, could you? Are you even worthy?" For a moment, Felix's eyelashes drooped, offering no rebuttal.

By using such means to force a woman, he was indeed scum.

But what did it matter? If begging her to stay would have worked, he would have done so already.

Might as well be the villain to the end.

After all, now claiming to love her would be believed by no one.
