Dear Ex-wife Marry Me

Chapter 1804

Nathan's breathing was rapid with nerves as Carol merely came close.

"It's not flirtation. I just want to get back at Felix. Tell me the truth, did you recommend that medication first, or did he ask for them on his own?"

"Of course, he asked for it himself! He said he felt nothing for you!"

"Is that so? Then, do you think I should get back at him? He is quite disgusting, isn't he?"

Nathan looked at the radiant face before him and suddenly felt a sense of absurdity. But the thrill was too much; he wanted to kiss her with abandon, but he didn't dare.

Was Carol someone he, of all people, could defile? But how come Felix dared?

Carol's fingertips grazed the back of his hand, her voice soft with a hint of persuasion, "You're working at the Miller Group now. How are things between you and him?"

"Good. I'm his best friend."

Even when Felix had seized control of the Miller family business, Nathan had a hand in spurring him on.

But the decision was Felix's alone. He was the one who didn't like Carol, who wanted to get back at her. Nathan felt it had nothing to do with him.

Carol's fingertips continued their dance on his hand, and he couldn't take it anymore, his voice turning hoarse, "Ms. Miller, do you want to use me to get back at Felix?"

Carol didn't speak. She just pulled back her hand, opened the car door, and made to get out.

She had made herself clear enough; playing dumb was pointless. She could easily find a male model; after all, Nathan's face was just not ugly, far too ordinary for her taste.

But as she was about to step out, Nate grabbed her again, "I want to sleep with you." Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.

A wave of revulsion raised goosebumps on Carol's arms. But then she had a realization: since Nathan was not a good person, she could use him without guilt.

Called her cheap or wicked if they must. If she couldn't be happy, then why should anyone else?

After Nathan's admission, he realized he had spoken his truest thoughts and tensed up. Carol laughed lightly, prying his hand off.

"Want to sleep with me? Although Felix is a jerk, he was pretty good to me when we were together."

"What's good about that? While you talked of love, he kissed Listina in the hospital hundreds of times."

His words struck Carol hard, her heart aching sharply as her complexion changed. She didn't want to remember these details, as they were too painful.

She hated the thought of sitting alone in the hospital corridor while Felix was in the room, possibly embracing Listina, kissing her. It disgusted her to no end, and she longed for the most venomous revenge.

Now was her chance.

Felix was an enigma, but he genuinely cared for Nathan, his buddy. Otherwise, he wouldn't have gotten him into the Miller Group and fast-tracked him to a managerial position so soon after taking over.

She wanted Felix to taste the bitterness of betrayal.

"You're too timid. I'll let you sleep with me, but do you dare?"

"I dare! What do I have to fear!"

Nathan's eyes swept over Carol; in the next second, she extended a finger, tracing it across the back of his hand.

"Then be good to me. Once I'm moved, maybe I'll let you."

Nathan's eyes lit up with excitement.

"Fine, but don't forget, Ms. Miller, I truly like you."

Liked? Nathan and Felix were cut from the same cloth; how could they truly like anyone?

Carol found it amusing but said nothing more, just closed the car door.

When she returned to the Miller family mansion, Felix was already sitting on the sofa. Carol saw a table full of dishes but didn't bother asking if he'd eaten, heading straight upstairs.

"Eat before you go up."

"I've already eaten outside."

Her tone was distant as she began ascending the stairs. Felix dropped the documents in his hand and stood up to follow her.

"Where did you eat? With whom?"

"That's none of your business."

"Carol, we're about to get married."

"The wedding can be called off."

Just as she spoke, Felix's phone rang. Carol saw the name Listina flashing on the screen, her eyes full of scorn, "Aren't you going to answer your beloved Listina's call?"

Felix, for reasons unknown, seeing her indifference, answered the call. Listina's sobbing came through.

"Felix, I cut my hand; it hurts so much. Will you come and see me?"

"I'll find a doctor for you."

"No, if you don't come, I'll slash my wrist!"

Felix glanced at Carol. She had already shrugged off his hand and was continuing upstairs.

His eyes darkened suddenly, "I'm on my way now."
