Chapter 1796
He shoved Listina away abruptly.
Although Listina's surgery was successful, her body was still in recovery. The push sent her stumbling backward several steps.
Her eyes remained red, tears plopping down her cheeks.
Felix's face was calm as he glanced at the clock on the wall.
It was already eight in the evening, and in four hours, it would be Christmas' Day. Property © 2024 N0(v)elDrama.Org.
"Listina, you should go home."
"I won't! Why are you still marrying her?! Felix, I just can't understand. What am I to you? Didn't you say before that you only had hatred for her, not love? Didn't you say it was all for revenge? Now that she's down and out, we can just take over the Miller family’s company, drive her away. Why marry her!"
Her face was frenzied, her lips quivering.
Felix remained silent, a frown creasing his brow, as he reached for a cigarette.
Listina's expression softened considerably, her voice turning gentle.
"Felix, deep down, you can't let me go either. We've known each other for years, and you've always been so good to me. Now, you're just being misled by Carol. If you drive her away, we can get married and live a good life, I'll bear you a healthy baby boy."
Felix, however, turned his gaze to the servant standing by, his tone indifferent, "Take her home."
"Felix!"
Panic flashed in Listina's eyes. Something had changed since her surgery.
She stood rooted to the spot, watching Felix flick his cigarette butt into the nearby trash can and head upstairs.
Her tears fell anew, her lips bitten to the taste of blood.
Upstairs, Carol was just there to grab a few things.
She picked up a gift box and opened the door, coming face-to-face with Felix.
She frowned slightly.
His eyes fell on the gift box in her hands, which was wrapped with an elegant bow.
A Christmas' gift, perhaps?
His lashes drooped, an uncontrollable spark of hope flickering within him, but Carol's gaze merely lingered on him briefly before she moved to step past him downstairs.
"Where are you going?"
His voice dropped, his hand snatching her wrist.
"Out."
"Don't you know what tonight is?"
Carol turned, a playful arch to her brow, "What day is it? Oh, you just reminded me. By this time every year, I'd have finished the Christmas' Eve dinner with my dad. This year, this house has been tainted. Can't I go out and avoid the filth?"
Felix's face turned stormy as he loosened his tie, his dark eyes boring into her.
As Carol twisted to leave, he grabbed her wrist, pulling her back.
"What are you doing?!"
In one swift motion, he yanked off her velvet dress and flicked off the wall light.
Carol's pupils constricted sharply, her hand raised to slap him.
But he gripped her wrist firmly.
Without any foreplay, and fully clothed, Felix was upon her, his vein-lined hand fiercely gripping her chin, forcing her into a kiss.
Carol felt disgusted and turned her head; Felix's kiss landed on the corner of her lips.
He didn't mind. One of his hands hoisted her leg, almost breaking the door behind them with the force of his thrusts.
Carol, finding it almost amusing, asked, "Mr. Brown, did you take your pills today?"
Felix stiffened, but then ignored her taunt, pulled her face back to his, and kissed her again.
His force didn't wane; he was relentless.
Carol went a bit paled, especially as she smelled Listina's perfume on him.
She felt sick to her stomach, but with her chin held captive, she couldn’t dodge his kisses.
