Dear Ex-wife Marry Me

Chapter 1776

Maja was enveloped in the warmth of these two men’s consolation when it hit her - the crucial piece of the puzzle.

She blinked, and stood up abruptly, "The seal, the jellyfish seal!"

It was something planted by Cynthia, back when she was still known as Lillian, and she had instructed Maja that should she ever face danger, she could use it.

And danger was exactly what loomed now.

"Dylan, remember when Abner's guys blew up Summer's place? Didn't they find a seal? Get in touch with Abner and ask him to send it over."

Dylan didn't waste a second and called Abner, who was nearby in Greenfield and promptly delivered the item himself.

It wasn't something he'd acquired in North America but had come into his possession in Cania. Amidst the chaos at a research base, he had sent his men to help the Sanders family look for Ian.

They never found Ian, but they stumbled upon this peculiarly shaped seal. His men brought it back, and now that Maja wanted it, he had no desire to keep it.

He sat on the couch, his tone heavy with gravity, "Speaking of which, when Walter's people were with me, one of them, a bit of a prankster, found a couple of wooden dolls, names carved into them. Those trinkets were picked up on the way to Summer's bombing - no clue who dropped them, but they sure looked interesting."

Wooden dolls? Maja hadn't been paying much attention until the mention of their unusual shapes made her eyes red.

Lillian used to make things like that for her. Back then, when times were tight and other kids flaunted their toys, Maja felt envious but knew better than to ask her mother, not wanting to add to her burdens.

And yet, unbeknownst to her, Lillian had secretly crafted these toys from wood, each one exquisitely made.

It was these small, tender gestures that made Maja yearn to see Lillian - the woman who had showered her with love.

"Do you still have those wooden toys?"

"Yeah, I had to borrow some guys from Walter after a betrayal, and that whimsical fellow was among them. He's been obsessed with those little dolls, showing them off every day. If you want them, I can get him over here right now."

"Please, I would like that, Abner."

Abner immediately made a call. Soon enough, a baby-faced man arrived, clutching two intricately carved wooden toys.

One was a bamboo dragonfly; the other, a small wooden contraption that, upon being opened, revealed a carved wooden insect leaping out.

When Maja saw the bamboo dragonfly, her eyelashes quivered because Cynthia had once made her an identical one. Content is © by NôvelDrama.Org.

Back in the day, bamboo dragonflies were all the rage among the kids, but while theirs were store- bought, hers was handcrafted by Lillian, soaring higher than any other - a fact that never allowed her to feel inferior.

They were found near Summer's place, a location rumored to house a couple of other elders within the organization.

Maja was not privy to the inner workings of the BK organization, but the sight of these two objects gave her a strong hunch - they were left for Cynthia by someone.

She had no evidence, but her intuition was powerful.

"Nana, have Number 8 come over and take these three items. Once Sarah leaves that house, hand them to her. If she's really under someone's control, she should come to her senses quickly."

The jellyfish seal symbolized Lillian's resolve to protect her daughter, and these wooden toys, something similar that had once been made by her mother - and most likely created by others within the organization - were a legacy of love.
