“I am pregnant and the baby is yours.” Sarah said.

I could feel my already broken heart shattering into a million pieces. Did she just say that she’s pregnant!? First, I caught him cheating and now, he’s having a baby outside of over marriage. Like that wasn’t enough.

I wat so mad that I wanted to jump out of my hiding spot and scream at him but I held myself back. I know that I should have just left quietly while they were still engrossed in their conversation but I couldn’t bear to.

Rather, my legs didn’t want to move even though my heart kept warning me to leave before I would hear anything that would shatter my heart the more. I should have just listened to my heart because what happened later that day was bound to charge my view about our marriage.

“Did you just say that you are pregnant?” Jason asked in shock.

“Yes, I did.” She answered. Jason stared at her for a while before he bursted into laughter which made Sarah frown.

“What’s so funny??” She asked angrily.

“This must be a joke or a prank. I must admit tha you are so good at it. Your face looks so serious that one might think you are actually telling the truth.” Jason answered as he tried stiffling his laughter.

“Well, maybe it’s I’m actually telling the truth.” She answered, maintaining her straight face. Jason was finally able to hold back his Laughter when he saw how serious she looked.

“That’s what I have been trying to tell you. Here…” She handed him a brown envelope.

“What’s this?” He asked as he collected it.

“The test result which confirms that I am actually pregnant.” She answered.

He opened the envelope and brought out the test results. He read the contents with an unreadable expression on his face.

” You can see that I am telling the truth.” Sarah said when he was done reading it.

He was silent for a while, making the atmosphere really uncomfortable.

“Are you not going to say anything??” Sarah asked when she could not bear his silence anymore.

“What do you want me to say?? Congratulate you and welcome you into my home because of a by that is obviously not mine??” Sarah’s expression turned sour when she heard that he said.

I was surprised too. The baby isn’t his??

“What do you mean by that?? You are the only man I have been with.” She argued, desperation was written all overher face.

“You really expect me to believe that??” Jason said with a slight chuckle.

“Yes. We hardly use protection when having Sex.” She said.

“That’s why I got those after pills for you.” Jason answered.

“I usually forget to take them at times.” Sarah answered.

“How is that my fault?? You think I am rady to embrace a child a from you? One that I am not even sure is mine.” Jason said.

“The child is yours. What else must I do to make you believe me??” She asked already at the brink of tears.

At this point, I was starting to feel for her. What if she was telling the truth??

“The only child I know is the one I am having with my wife.” Jason answered.

“Natasha is pregnant??” Sarah asked, shock was written all over her face.

“Yes and she will be here soon so you need to leave. I don’t want her to find you here and start getting the wrong idea.” Jason said as he tried to get her to leave but she wouldn’t budge.

“You are pushing me and your unborn child away all because of her?”

“Yes. Now leave while I’m still asking.” He warned but she wouldn’t listen.

“You want to dump me after ruining my life??? No way, I won’t let you do this to me. I will ruin your life too.” She said.

“And what are you going to do? Report me to the authorities ??” Jason asked in a mocking manner.

“No. But I’ll tell your wife.” She said with a huge smirk plonging on her face.

“What did you just say??” Jason asked as his expression suddenly turned grim.

“You heard me right. Do you think she would still stay in this marriage when she finds out that I am pregnant for you?” Sarah asked.

“You dare not.” Jason said.

“Watch me!!” She said and was about to leave when Jason pulled her back and locked the door.

“What to you think you are doing!!” she asked angrily.

“I gave you a chance to leave unscathed but you were just too stubborn.” Jason muttered as he took slow menacing steps towards her. Fear gripped her and she started moving back.

What is he doing??

“No!! Don’t come any closer!!” She said in fear but he didn’t listen to her.

“Don’t come near me or I’ll Scream.” She warned but that just made him chuckle in amusement.

“You can scream all you want but no one will hear you. By the time I am done with you, you will regret ever coming here today.” Jason said.

She quickly brought out her phone from her bag and was about to dail a number when Jason snatched the phone from her hand and threw it across the room, shattering it in the process.

He grabbed her by the collar and landed a hard blow on her face. What the hell!!

“How dare you come into my hone and try to blackmail me!?” He roared as he punched her again on her face.

” Please…” She croaked out but he wouldn’t listen but kept on with his brutality on her face.

What the hell is wrong with him?? This isn’t the Jason I know. Jason would never harm anyone or anything. It was as if something demonic had possessed him.

I couldn’t bear to watch it anymore so I decided to do something to help her.

“Jason.” I called as I walked out of my hiding spot. He stopped immediately. He looked up and stared at me like he had seen a ghost.

“Tasha.” He called as he subconsciously released his hold on Sarah. Sarah took that chance and ran out of the house in fear for her life and her baby’s.

“How long have you been here?” He asked but I didn’t answer. My eyes were focused on the blood stains on his hands. Sarah’s blood.

He noticed my stares and quickly wiped away the blood on his shorts.

“It isn’t what it seemed like. I was just trying to teach her a lesson.” He explained.

“To the extent of hitting her? What the hell is wrong with you Jason?” I asked.

“I was so mad that she was trying to pin her pregnancy on me. It was never my intention to to that. I don’t know what came over me.” He explained and was about to come close to him bet I created distance between us both.

” She wouldn’t have to pin the pregnancy on you if you haren’t been sleeping with her.” I said angrily.

“I know Tasha. I deeply regret my actions. I should have never cheated on you. I am so sorry.” He apologised.

“Your apology means nothing now.” I said with venom laced on every single word. He looked really hurt but I was too heart broken to care anymore.

If he hadn’t cheated on me, I wouldn’t have made the mistake of cheating back and we wouldn’t be having this conversation. He is to blame for everything that has gone wrong in our family.

I turned on my heels and went into our room while he followed lovely behind me.

“What are you doing?” He asked when he saw me packing all of my belongings.

“Leaving.” I muttered without looking at him.

“What?? You can’t leave me. I won’t let you.” He said as he dragged the switcase from my hand.

“Give me back my suitcase Jason.” I aid tiredly. I didn’t want to start another fight with him.

“Let’s try to talk things out. How will you take care of yourself and our baby?” He asked.

“I’ll find a way. Now give me back any suitcase?” I said.

He stared at me for a while before giving it to me. I collected it and started arranging my do the inside. I was about take my underwear when I heard the door click shut. I looked back to see Jason had locked me inside.

“What are you doing? Open this door right now!” I said angrily.

“I can’t let you leave me. Nos now, not ever.” We all he aid before I heard his receding footsteps.

He left me locked in the room while I kept screaming and pleading for him to let me out.
