Chapter 63
Chapter 63
“As for that nonsensical contract that you signed, it’s not even legally binding. I think that’s all that’s left to be said,” Dorian carried on saying.
Then, with his brows furrowed, he looked at Alfred and said, “Please send the guests out.”
Sandra shot Deborah a worried glance. Would she be able to leave like that?
“Hold on, I’ll bring a wheelchair over,” Gisele said when she finally snapped back to her senses.
Sierra held onto Dorian’s arm and said anxiously, “Don, will you be sending Gisele to the Withams? What if Deborah doesn’t get better?”
Gisele came out of the storeroom pushing a wheelchair in front of her. She paused when she heard what Sierra said. She felt a slight sense of anticipation within her. She wondered what Dorian would say.
“The Witham family is hiring her, aren’t they?” Dorian looked at Sandra impassively.
When Sandra heard that, she quickly broke out in a smile and said, “Yes, of course we’re hiring her. Thank you for letting us have her, Mr. Dorian.”
That was a good enough answer for Gisele. It wasn’t the best, but it wasn’t the worst either.
In fact, she was quite thankful that that was the answer he gave them. At least he acknowledged her
medical skills and didn’t just send her off like she was worth nothing.
“We need to move Mrs. Witham Senior slowly, and we can’t let her get too emotional,” Gisele said as
though she heard nothing. She went over to carry Deborah and moved her into the wheelchair. Content is © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.
Before she left, she smiled at Declan and told him, “Grandpa Declan, if you run out of medicine, just send Alfred to me. I’ll prepare them beforehand and he can come and collect them at any time.”
“Okay.” Declan nodded.
He knew who the true culprit behind the scene today was, and he understood that though they claimed
that Gisele was hired by the Withams, she was actually sent there to cover up the mess.
The moment Gisele and Sandra left, Declan’s sharp gaze fell on Sierra immediately.
“What are you still here for? Why aren’t you getting out of my house yet?”
Sierra seemed startled and cowered behind Dorian.
“Grandfather,” Dorian called out with his brows furrowed.
Declan got up and went up the stairs. “Dorian, if you ever bring unwanted people back home again, I guess it’ll be time I take the position of president of the company away from you!”
“No, Declan, what’s that supposed to mean? Don has made such huge contributions to Jefferson Group. How could you….” Celeste complained resentfully.
Then, she turned and looked at Sierra with dissatisfaction, “And what’s wrong with you, Sierra? Didn’t you
agree to help us back at the hospital? Why did you go back on your word today?”
“Yes, Sierra, you’ve appeared in multiple interviews with Silas in the past. Are you not on good terms with him? This is a good chance for you to change Dad’s perception of you.”
Sierra backing out of the deal at the last minute did not sit well with Zayla either.
How could a reputable figure like her be compared to someone like Gisele? That was an insult through
and through.
Sierra latched onto Dorian’s arm weakly. She felt as though there was something stuck in her throat, and. she couldn’t even get a word out.
Gisele, who had just left with Sandra, however, felt exceptionally free and at ease.
“Ms. Meyer, please don’t think that I’m an unreasonable person. Since we agreed that I’m hiring you, I’ll pay you accordingly. I saw how well you performed the first aid earlier on, I’m sure you’re an excellent medical student, aren’t you?” Sandra looked at her amiably.
Gisele smiled politely and answered, “I understand. Please rest assured, Mrs. Witham. I’ll take good care
of Mrs. Witham Senior.”
She couldn’t be happier about being able to escape Dorian and earn some income at the same time!
Felicity, who was riding shotgun, turned around and glared at Gisele fiercely.
“Hey! You’re Dorian’s wife, for goodness‘ sake! Don’t you feel humiliated by that? Have you never thought of proving Sierra wrong and making her ask for your forgiveness?”
