Chapter 15 The money is not enough to make up
The single villa in Plumwave Bay was expensive. Since Wesley bought it for her, she had no reason to
refuse. Besides, her relationship with Wesley was over, and there was no need to be sad. She could
think that she just had an operation for some injury.
Renal replacement surgery and miscarriage caused huge hurt to the body, so Harriet was lying on the
bed for more than half a month. Her meals were all brought over by the nurse.
Colin called her and asked why she stayed at Seattle for so long time.
Harriet was still a little bit weak, so she gave the address of Seattle City Hospital and asked Colin to
pick herself up.
Colin arrived at the hospital that afternoon.
When he saw Harriet's pale face, he was shocked and said nervously, "Harriet, don't you come to
check the body, why are you look so weak?"
He wanted to call the doctor but Harriet quickly grabbed him and smiled lightly, "Yeah, and then they
found that there was a problem with my body and did a minor operation for me. It's okay, let's go
home."
"Is that so?"
Colin was very uneasy. He checked Harriet in detail. Harriet knocked on his head and emphasized that
she was ok. Finally Colin agreed to take her away.
As soon as they stepped out of the hospital door, they happened to run into Wesley.
He had always attached great importance to images. Now his necktie was loose and he just did not
care. He held an insulation bucket in his hand and talked to assistant Moor side by side, with a thin
smile on his face.
Wesley seemed to be noticed that someone was looking at him. He looked up, and saw Harriet holding
a young man's arm, thin and pale, without a trace of blood.
She was pregnant but had a kidney replacement operation, which was too much for her.
Wesley scratched a strange glance in his eyes, and his thin lips moved. He seemed to want to say
something, but Harriet kept her pace, passing by without any feeling.
"Wesley, what’s wrong?" assistant Moor talked with him for a long time, but found that the boss ignored
him and just stared at the door.
"Is the young man her brother who has been unconscious for two years?"
"I've investigated about it. It's true." assistant Moor replied, but he was very puzzled as Wesley asked
him to transfer the money for Miss Clark last night, he seemed to have to clarify the relationship
between her. Why he asked about the brother right now?
Wesley hummed, walked to the ward carrying the insulation bucket, and said casually, "Tell Charlene to
pick some good scripts in Pleasure Media for Harriet."
After all, Harriet had been with him for two years. And her body was damaged so much that the money
was really not enough to make up for her.
Assistant Moor responded.
Colin knew that his Harriet was in a bad mood and did not ask where Wesley was going. He took her
Harriet back to Philadelphia silently. When they arrived at the apartment, he cooked a dinner for her.
Harriet took a bite of dish, revealing a disgusting look, "Isn’t it too salty?"
"I haven't cooked for two years, so I forget how to cook." Colin didn't care but grinned, "I need to
practice more. You will definitely be proud of my cooking skills next time!"
Harriet laughed at his words.
She ate half a bowl of noodles since she had no appetite. Looking at this apartment where she had
lived for two years, she kept the valuable jeweler and asked Colin pack and threw other stuff away.
Only the old one was gone, new one could come along. Anyway, she was rich now and she could buy
anything she wanted!
They were packing up and Colin somewhat understood what happened. He couldn’t help asking, "You
broke up..." Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.
"Yeah, we just broke up peacefully." Harriet said with a smile, as if the matter had nothing to do with
her. "I can't stand him being too busy, so I popped up the suggestion and he agreed."
"Really?" Colin was stunned then glanced at her stomach, "Harriet, you are pregnant. What do you do
with the child if you break up...?”
Harriet tried to keep her voice from shaking when touching her belly. "Since I broke up with him, I can’t
keep the baby so I had an abortion."
"..."
Suddenly Colin's face became ugly. He went to dig out Harriet's bag and grit his teeth: "It must be he
who forced you, right? I want to call this bastard and kill him!"
"Colin, don't make any trouble." Harriet stopped his hand and said softly, "We really broke up
peacefully. It was me that didn't want this child, and he compensated me."
"Harriet!" Colin was so desperate that he almost swore.
Harriet just clenched his hand tightly and said with a smile, "Colin, you can wake up is the best gift for
me. Please let the pass go."
She was quite satisfied that her kidney could be exchanged for eight million and freedom.
Colin understood Harriet and said nothing.
