Chap 87
I Miss You
Singapore’s clear skies greeted Lexi’s arrival. The man stepped through every aisle of the airport with a passionate spirit. He convinced himself that his mission and intention of the second time would succeed.
There’s not much he wanted at that time. If he just couldn’t take Jessica home, just meeting Jessica was okay. Yes, at least he could talk and let go of his longing.
Lexi got into the taxi he had ordered. His destination of this time was the main building of the Kim Foundation and Kim Corporation. What’s wrong with going straight to them? The man hoped to get results soon this time. At least old Kim wanted to see him.
Along the way Lexi looked out the window of the car. There was busy traffic and vehicles were so crowded. After thirty minutes, he arrived at the Kim Foundation building.
Lexi got out of the car. He immediately went inside while a taxi waited in the basement. By continuing to make sure his self-confidence, Lexi entered through the main door.
The man immediately met the receptionist.
“Can I meet Mr. Kim?” Lexi asked.
“Sorry, who are you?” the receptionist asked.
“I’m Lexi, Lexi Ricardo”” he replied, giving her a business card. Lexi was not empty handed. In the backpack he was carrying inside was evidence that the father had given. Although the evidence was not complete, at least he wanted to tell Jessica’s grandfather that both parents were innocent.
“Well sir, wait a minute, did you make an appointment before?” the female asked him again.
“Not yet,” Lexi replied, shaking his head.
“Okay, wait a minute.” The woman made a phone call. Lexi tried to eavesdrop in vain but he couldn’t hear anything from the other side of the phone.
“I’m sorry sir, Mr. Kim is not in the room. And you have to make an appointment at least two weeks in advance if you want to meet with him.” The lady politely conveyed it. Her lips kept smiling despite the fake smile.
Lexi nodded slowly. This he had already guessed and he didn’t feel disappointed at all.
Next, he would approach Beryl. It’s bullshit that he didn’t know anything about Jessica. The address given by Mr. Arman. Lexi would find Beryl in his apartment.Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org exclusive © material.

The early hours to the end of the class went very well. Elsa began to reorganize her life. It wasn’t that she just wanted to forget Lexi, she just needed to focus on his life now. In her little heart, she wanted to meet Lexi, but did not want to make her family members sad, because of her desire, especially her grandfather who seemed to love her very much.
“You’re okay right? Elsa?” Beryl asked. He didn’t expect much, he knew it was impossible to have Elsa. She’s his best friend now, not like Jessica. Yes, it was impossible for the Kim family to marry Elsa to a random man who liked him. He knew he couldn’t deserve her.
Elsa nodded slowly, with a restrained smile. How much she tried to divert Lexi’s face sometimes flashed through her head. What was her fate now? Was he happy with Cassandra? Elsa shook her head, driving the thought out of her mind.
“You want a drink?” Beryl was bargaining, showing his attention.
“No.” Elsa moved to one of the chairs in the garden and Beryl just followed her.
They were sitting next to each other waiting for Elsa. Beryl kept watching her best friend. Elsa was not feeling well right now. Her face was pale and often brooding. Even if it was a laugh, it was just a fake smile to cover up the sadness she was feeling right now.
“What are you thinking? You can share it with me if you can’t tell your family!” Beryl persuaded. Since meeting her the other day and always calling her in college these few days. Beryl did not notice Elsa’s cheerfulness. He didn’t see her smiling as much as she used to.
Elsa was silent for a long time. She did not immediately answer questions from Beryl. She thought repeatedly. Sometimes she didn’t dare to be honest with herself. Should she admit what was bothering her right now?
“I miss my husband.” Those three forbidden words escaped Elsa’s lips just like that. As if the heavy burden that accompanied her that she missed her husband.
“You want to meet Mr. Lexi?” Beryl investigated, seeing Elsa crying it also grieves. If he could do something to cheer her up, but only one could make her happy that she wanted to meet with Lexi. The cure was to meet, right?
Elsa did not respond because she suddenly saw her brother walking closer. “Let’s go home now,” he invited.
“Yes, Daniel,” she said, and Elsa got up from her seat, reminding Beryl not to tell anyone.
“Beryl. Thank you!” Daniel said and took Elsa’s hand to get into the car immediately.
“You’re welcome!” Beryl waved his hand at the two.
Daniel sat behind the wheel, while Elsa sat beside him. Daniel loved Elsa so much, he knew that his sister was still crying in secret but he just pretended he didn’t know. He thought of it as an adaptation process. Although slow, he believed Elsa could slowly become a true Kim.
“You’re not dating your friend, are you?” Daniel asked, breaking the silence. He started the car and drove it away from the campus area.
“No,” Elsa replied, trying to smile.
“Well, then don’t frown, you are more beautiful if you smile.” Daniel seduced his sister, that’s all he could do. He couldn’t force Elsa to be happy. He couldn’t bring Elsa to the Ricardo family.
Elsa nodded, her lips so hard to just pretend to smile.
Daniel focused on driving. He knew that Lexi had come to the Kim Foundation. However, he chose not to tell Elsa. First because he did not want to disturb Elsa who was still adapting in her new environment. Secondly, it was better that Elsa did not know, than that it only made her sister indecisive and wanted to meet the man again.
“You want to eat first?” he offered.
“Eat at home,” his sister answered.
“Alright, let’s just go home!”
Daniel increased the speed of the car. In the house there was already Fredy Kim waiting for his arrival.
“Daniel,” Elsa called.
“Yes,” Daniel answered, looking at his sister’s face.
“Can I go back to Jakarta?” his sister asked. She just wanted to know if she had a chance to meet her husband.
“Of course you can, later after your birthday we will all go to Jakarta to commemorate the twelve years of mom and dad’s death. Usually we will hold a charity and give a lot of rocks to build a new building for our foundation. Do you want to meet Mrs. Grace?” Daniel knew the meaning of his sister’s question but chose to divert it.
“I miss Jakarta, I miss the people who are there!” Elsa said. Yes, at least there was hope to meet with Lexi.
