CHAPTER 13

IS IT MY FAULT?

A black Ferrari car driving at medium speed cut through the city streets. Ronald, the driver was focused on running the car. He didn’t care about the conflicts and the cold war going on in the back seat.

Jessica clasped her hands. She looked down and didn’t dare to look to the right, where Lexi was sitting and stared at her. Sometimes, the girl looked out the glass observing the crowded street.

“You’re wrong to think of Arman as a God who will help you get away from me Jessica,” Lexi began the conversation. He stared intently at Jessica. It was just sitting next to him, made him already very desiring.

“Since childhood, I considered Mr. Arman a very rich man because he worked in a large company, and now I met the owner of that company,” Jessica said flatly. She glanced at him. Although for a moment, her eyes and Lexi’s eyes met.This belongs © NôvelDra/ma.Org.

“Let’s make a deal, Jessica,” Lexi offered, not once he took her eyes off Jessica’s face.

“Make a deal?” this time Jessica dared to raise her head, looking at him.

“Yes, marriage contract with me, will you?” Lexi offered. At least with marriage he could be with Jessica. He got entitle to his rights as a husband.

“I’ll think about it, Sir,” Jessica answeried. She wanted only to get away from Lexi, not get married. It would make her life tied to that man.

“Where are we going, Sir?” Ronald asked, interrupting the conversation.

“To the main house,” Lexi answered. This time he wouldn’t take Jessica away from her parents. “Turn off the lights, Ronald!” he ordered then.

The next five seconds the lights in the back seat of the car turned off.

In the dark, Lexi grabbed Jessica’s waist to get closer. The next moment, he landed a kiss on the girl, with long and deep.

“No!”Jessica’s screamed and pushed Lexi’s body hard.

“How strong you are ” Lexi whispered and kissed Jessica’s lips

“Marry me Jessica!” ask Lexi again before the car gets home.

Jessica didn’t answer, she just refused. Sure if Lexi married him not for love, but he only wanted her body and gave his lust to her, no more than that.

“You two have arrived,” Mrs. Anna said. “Sit down, we have dinner together!”

Lexi sat next to his dad while Jessica sat next to Mrs. Anna. She felt a little comfortable next to her.

Later, Mrs. Anna, Mr. Samuel, Lexi, and Jessica started to get busy with the foods on their plates.

Jessica had to chew and swallowed her food, still looking for ideas to escape of Lexi and her family.

“Jessica, eat it more,” Mrs. Anna said.

” Yes, Ma’am, ” Jessica replied.

“Where have you been all day?” Mrs. Anna asked her. She knew Jessica had run away. However, she wanted to hear the answer from the girl’s mouth.

“I met my friend,” Jessica answered shortly.

Seeing that Lexi and her father had finished eating, Mrs. Anna asked the two to leave the dining table. She just wanted to talk to Jessica. She wanted to persuade her to stay here to marry Lexi.

“Ma’am, may I take a sleep?” Jessica asked. She knew that Mrs. Anna would come back to persuade her to marry Lexi.

“We need to talk to Jessica,” the woman persuaded with a friendly voice and a warm look in the eyes.

Jessica turned her head, preparing to hear what Mrs. Anna wanted to say.

“Marry Lexi, you will become Ricardo’s family, and I will help you to find your family. How?” Mrs. Anna was able to talk to Mrs. Rani then found out Jessica’s true desire. This girl was still waiting for the arrival of her parents who left her in the Kasih Bunda orphanage.

“Ma’am I’m so tired, can we talk later?” Jessica asked once more. She is not ready for marriage.

“Okay, Jess,” she understood.

“Come with me, a maid will lead you to a room that Lexi can’t reach,” she told, didn’t want Lexi to do that again.

Together with a maid, Mrs. Anna led Jessica to a room on the ground floor, close to the back garden, a large room with windows overlooking the pool.

“You’ll be safe here Jessica, Lexi will not be able to enter,” Mrs. Anna said, saw the faint smile on the young girl’s lips.

Without answering, Jessica closed the door. She didn’t forget to lock the door then walked to the bed.

Sitting on the edge of the bed, she opened the bag to take the box Beryl had given her.

The box contained a necklace with a pendant. There was a strip of light blue paper located at the bottom. Jessica unfolded the paper, which likely a letter from Beryl written on it.

Jessica your WhatsApp number wasn’t active, so I’m forced to leave this to Chelsea.

Take care of these necklaces and pendants. I’ll come when I had done studying. You know this heart of mine, only you own it.

Jessica read the letter. It was no secret. She and Chelsea already knew that Beryl had liked Jessica for a long time.

Not that Jessica wasn’t happy to get that letter from Beryl, there were more important things right now, it was to get a billion dollars and got away from Lexi and all the members of Ricardo’s family as soon as possible.

“Lexi, if you still don’t want to marry Jessica mom and dad will introduce her to another man who is certainly better than you,” Mrs Anna threatened, she joined her husband and son who were sitting in the family room.

“Who said I don’t want to marry her? I want to marry Jessica. I’m willing to make her a wife. Jessica will be the daughter-in-law of the Ricardo family as you wish,” Lexi said. He didn’t know that he was offering a contract marriage to Jessica, his parents wouldn’t agree definetly.

“Didn’t I hear wrong? Is that true?” Mr. Samuel shocked. Lexi’s statement just now, was much different from what he said last night.

“I will marry Jessica as long as our marriage is not made public before we are both ready. This is not for me, but for Jessica,” Lexi begged starting to lead both parents into the plot of his plan.

“Is Jessica ready to marry you?” Mr. Smith was not sure. What girl would want to be with a man who had taken away her honor by forced.

“That’s why I talked to her, obviously you will help Jessica stay married to Lexi,” Jessica’s only wish was for Ricardo Group to have an heir.

Lexi smiled. “Good night, I’m going to bed now!” Lexi said.

“Good night,” his mother muttered. She didn’t usually see Lexi sleeping in this house. This was the first time she had seen his son fast asleep before nine o’clock.

Now there was only Mr. Samuel and Mrs. Anna in the living room.

“Do you think this plan will work? Lexi’s gonna marry Jessica and we’re gonna have a grandchild soon, right?” Mr. Samuel asked. In his little heart, he also sincerely hoped that Lexi would soon get married and have grandchildren.

“I didn’t know, dear, but for now Jessica is our only hope,” the woman said.

(the sound of door opened)

The bathroom door opened. Jessica stepped out while tied her towel pajamas.

Jessica was shocked when she saw Lexi already sitting on the edge of the bed, already waiting for her. His gaze teased with a lust face’s expression. The top two buttons of his shirt was open, revealing part of his chest.

“Why are you here?” Jessica asked him.

“Do you think you can get away from me, Jess? No, you can’t. When you’re in a different place I can look for you, especially when you’re in my house, I’ll easily find you,” Lexi answered. The look in his eyes and the smile of his lips were more already taking to a grin to pounce on his prey. Jessica who had took a shower, her wet hair and her scent made his desire on top.

“Get out of my room, or I’ll scream!” Jessica threatened as she moved backwards avoiding Lexi, who moved and walked towards her.

Lexi grabbed Jessica’s body, leading her towards the top of the bed.

“Sir, stop it!” Jessica’s screeched, tried to stop Lexi who was overwhelmed with lust.

“It’s not that easy Jessica,” Lexi answered. The fingers of his right hand moved nimbly to open the shirt button, without intending to release Jessica.

“Sir, we can’t do it,”Jessica didn’t want to give up.

“Who says we can’t?!”

“This relationship can only be done by husband and wife!”

“Then let’s marry me Jessica,” Lexi offered.

“No!” the girl pushed him.

“So what do you want?” Lexi was upset. “You don’t want to serve me and you don’t want to marry me either. What do you really want Jessica!” Lexi got up and turned her back on the girl.

The man always felt guilty when he saw Jessica crying over it.

“What’s my fault, sir? what’s my fault that you want me so bad?” Jessica asked in between sobs.

“Your body, I feel attracted just by imagining you Jess. When I look and touch, I can’t help. I want to spend the night with you,” Lexi looked back.

Jessica crossed her arms in front of her chest, only slow sobs were heard.

“You don’t need to love me because I won’t give my love for you either, we just need to get married until I get well, after that you can be free, how?” Lexi’s offered, trying to unlock his secret.
