Contract Marriage With The Disabled CEO By Woody Rain Chapter 60

Chapter 60 Got a Clue

Jeffrey didn’t know why he got so angry when he knew that Betty married Kerwin. His anger was

like a volcano and finally erupted.

“Would you marry me? I am also one of the Martins. Besides, Kerwin is a cripple. I am a healthy

man.” Driven by his anger, Jeffrey could do nothing but insult Kerwin for no reason. “My father said that after the car accident ten years ago, Kerwin got disabled. He also became impotent. Betty, I admire you for being so shameless. You can even marry an incompetent man just for his money.”

“Jeffrey, shut the fuck up!” Betty suddenly lost her temper.

She could even bear Jeffrey insulting her and remained calm. But she couldn’t stand Jeffrey saying

At the thought of Kerwin, a perfect man in a wheelchair, looking lonely and upset sometimes, Betty felt that Jeffrey was particularly detestable!

Maybe it was all because of his family that Kerwin had to pretend to be disabled for a whole decade.

But he was such a good man.

Not expecting that Betty would snap suddenly, Jeffrey got stunned.

Betty looked away instantly. She didn’t want to cast one more glance at Jeffrey.

“Jeffrey,” Betty said coldly. “I know that you are upset. You thought that I was Kerwin’s mistress.

But I tell you, we are legal wife and husband. Mind your own business. He is not incompetent. I know that better than you.”

With this, she stormed out of Jeffrey’s office without hesitation.

After Betty left, Jeffrey stayed in the office in a daze for a long time.

It was not until his phone suddenly rang that he regained his composure.

He picked up his phone and found that it was from Emily. He felt annoyed for no reason.

“Hello.” He put her through and said impatiently, “What?”

“Jeffrey,” Emily’s sweet voice sounded from the phone. “Are you busy now?”

“Not really. Are you calling me for something?”

“Emm…” Emily sounded a bit upset. “It’s just that our marriage has been settled, but I haven’t met your great-grandfather yet… He is the elder of the Martin family. Shall I pay him a visit?”

Jeffrey thought about refusing Emily directly since he was not in the mood to talk to her. But an idea

flashed into his mind suddenly, and there was a trace of slyness in his eyes.

“You’re right,” Jeffrey said gently. “You should meet not only my great grandgather, but also my uncle and aunt, and some other people in the Martin family.”

“Are you serious?” Emily sounded a bit joylul, “When should I go to your family?”

“Soon.” Jeffrey put on a cold smile. “I will arrange a family dinner to introduce you to all family members formally.”

Betty left the office as soon as the clock struck six.

When she got up, many people were still gossiping and even cast disdainful looks at her.

Betty got a bit upset. This is property © NôvelDrama.Org.

Thinking of Jeffrey and these gossip mongers, Belly considered that she might have to change a job as soon as her mother felt better.

Betty was absent-minded all the way. When she got home, she found that Kerwin had already

gotten off from work. He was not sitting in a wheelchair but standing in the living room,

“Hello,” Kerwin said blandly.

Betty looked around, put on her slippers, and asked, “Haven’t Lillian and Robert come back yet?”

“Um. They went back home. I gave them a long leave.”

“Then I’ll cook for you.” Betty walked into the kitchen. “What do you want to eat?”.

“I have no preference.”

Betty was quite tired today. If she was alone, she would make herself a sandwich. But Kerwin was home. He loaned her money for her mother’s treatment. Betty wanted to be good to him. So she decided to fry a steak and made some spaghetti for him.

But she kept thinking about the mess in the company during the cooking so that she was absent- minded when cutting tomatoes. Suddenly, she felt a sharp pain in her finger.

“Ah…”

She exclaimed and quickly raised her hand to have a check. It turned out that she cut her finger accidentally

“What’s the matter?” Kerwin asked anxiously. Betty turned around and saw Kerwin walking into the kitchen hurriedly.

“Nothing.” Betty forced a smile. “I just cut my finger by accident. I can put a band-aid on the cut.”

In fact, it was just a small wound. She didn’t bleed too much, either.

“Let me see.” But Kerwin ignored her and grabbed her hand to have a careful check. His being so serious even made Betty a little embarrassed.

“It’s okay,” Betty whispered. “A small wound. I’ll clean it up myself… Ah, Kerwin, what are you doing?”

Kerwin didn’t mind what Betty said and just put her finger into his mouth quickly.

The warmness and moisture of Kerwin’s mouth electrified Betty suddenly.

Betty almost felt that her face was burning. She didn’t dare to look at Kerwin at all. She just looked

away and said in a trembling voice, “Kerwin, it’s just a small cut…”

She was too nervous to speak smoothly. Kerwin released her hand slowly and looked down at her pink face, looking like an apple.

Kerwin chuckled. “Wait a minute, I’ll get the band-aid.”

With that, he left the kitchen.

As soon as Kerwin left, Betty felt that she could breathe again. She was too nervous just now.

Kerwin came back to her soon. He tore open the band-aid and applied it to Betty’s finger. Kerwin looked grim as if he was not holding Betty’s hand but the most precious treasure in the world.

“Done.” After helping Betty with the band-aid, Kerwin glanced at the kitchen and frowned. “No need to cook today. Let’s get a takeaway.”

Betty, who couldn’t think clearly, just nodded and agreed.

Then they walked into the living room together. Kerwin checked the Yelp and asked, “What do you want to eat?”

“I have no preference.”

Kerwin nodded and placed an order on his computer.

At that moment, Kerwin’s phone on the table suddenly rang.

Without raising his head, Kerwin asked casually, “Who is it?”

Betty took a look and answered, “It’s Peter.”

“Put him on the speaker.”

Betty did as he told. Soon, Peter’s voice came from the other end of the line.

“Mr. Martin,” Peter sounded a little excited somehow.

“Yes.”

“I found a clue about that little girl years ago.”
