Chapter 44 His Wife

Betty’s body trembled.

It was obvious that Jeffrey didn’t recognize that those pictures were taken two years ago.

Betty had long hair for the past two years, so Jeffrey couldn’t see any difference between her look presence and before.

Jeffrey’s misunderstanding of Betty led him to assume that those photos were taken recently by someone.

Betty bit her lip and knew there was nothing she could find out from Jeffrey, so she remained silent,

turned around, and walked away.

“Betty, stop there!”

Jeffrey’s exasperated voice rang out behind Betty, but she stormed straight out of the office.

Ignoring the strange looks she received from others, Betty ran into the bathroom.

After closing the cubicle door, Betty sat down on the toilet and gasped for air.

Who had taken the picture? The person who took those pictures and gave them to Jeffrey is the same person who set her up back then? Why would that person do that?

It had been two years since that person ruined her reputation, and now, he was suddenly coming up with those photos again.

While Betty was freaking out, Jeffrey was also having a hard time.

He sat down angrily on the couch and ripped off the tie that was suffocating him.

He remembered that he had received a picture of Betty in bed on his cell phone two years ago, which forced him to believe that Betty had cheated on him.

He thought he would lose his feelings for Betty. However, when he saw her pictures at that moment, he was still very angry!

Were those new photos of Betty with a new guy? And who was it this time? Was it Kerwin or some other guy?

Jeffrey just felt so tight-chested that he was about to explode. He might go crazy if he didn’t do something!

He suddenly picked up his phone and called someone.

As the call came through, Jeffrey put on a fake smile.

“Is this Kerwin? I haven’t seen you since I got back. Yes, you left for the last house party for some

urgent business.

“Well, I’m just passing by your office today. Why don’t we have a cup of coffee?”

Half an hour later, at the coffee shop below the Tylman Group.

Near the window seat, Kerwin was sitting in his wheelchair and looking down at the envelope next to his coffee with a gloomy look in his eyes. “Jeffrey, what’s this?”

Jeffrey was sitting across from Kerwin. Before facing Kerwin’s powerful presence, he was a little restrained but stayed calm. “There’s something you should know.”

“About what?” Kerwin was calm and not curious about the items inside the envelope.

Jeffrey didn’t know how to put it. “I heard you got married recently?”

Although his tone sounded casual, he was shocked when he first learned about it.

He knew Kerwin wasn’t interested in women. Moreover, his father even suspected that the car accident might not only cripple Kerwin’s legs but also make him unable to get an erection.

Kerwin frowned. “You know a lot about my privacy.”

What he whispered in a low tone made Jeffrey feel pressure and even sweat.

“That’s just a coincidence.” Jeffrey forced a smile. “My partner, Mr. Cooper, accidentally offended your woman in Houston earlier. He told me about it after he returned from that business trip.”

Kerwin’s eyes turned cold at the mention of Ed. “So?”

At that point, Kerwin realized that Jeffrey was meeting with him because of Betty.

Kerwin had never intentionally hidden his relationship with Betty from Jeffrey, but Jeffrey still

seemed to have misunderstood that Betty was his mistress.

“Well…” Jeffrey broke out in a cold sweat and bit the bullet. “Because Betty happens to work at my magazine, and I happen to know some information that I thought you should know.”

Then Kerwin dropped his eyes to the envelope.

It turned out that the items inside the envelope had something to do with Betty.

Kerwin raised his hand to open the envelope.

When he saw those pictures, a murderous look flashed in his eyes!

Jeffrey had been watching Kerwin’s expression. When he noticed the change in Kerwin’s expression, he felt that his suspicions were confirmed.

Although Betty was his mistress, Kerwin had feelings for Betty. Otherwise, he would not have dealt

with Cooper like that before.

Betty is so damn charming! She not only charmed me back then but also could trick Kerwin.

Jeffrey had thoughts of revenge in his mind but didn’t want to admit that he just didn’t want to see Betty and Kerwin together again.

After that, Kerwin suddenly put the envelope down, turned to the waiter next to him, and said, “Do you have a lighter?”

Jeffrey was stunned.

He remembered that Kerwin neither smoked nor drank.

Quickly, the waiter handed him a lighter. Before Jeffrey could react, Kerwin turned on the lighter and burned the envelope.

“Kerwin, what are you doing?” Jeffrey was startled. The moment he just spoke, his eyes met Kerwin’s cold eyes.

At once, he couldn’t help but shiver.

“What? Jeffrey, didn’t you just want me to check it out?” Kerwin sneered as he said in a cold voice. “Now, I’ve seen those pictures, so what’s wrong with me burning this envelope?”

Although those photos didn’t show Betty’s private parts, how could he let someone else look at his wife’s body?

Jeffrey couldn’t help but swallow and lower his head. “That’s right.”

The envelope and the photos inside burned to ashes.

Kerwin threw away the lighter and leaned back in his wheelchair. Then he looked at Jeffrey with a cold look in his eyes. “Shoot! Who gave you those pictures?”

Jeffrey looked up at Kerwin in dismay and said, “Kerwin, don’t you want to ask who she took those pictures with, and why she was in the pictures?”

Kerwin gave Jeffrey a deep look and whispered, “Why would I? I know exactly what kind of person my woman is.”
