Chapter 45: Detective Evie

Chapter 45: Detective Evie

MALAYINA

May 15th 2018

I stand behind the bar, serving an old man who won't stop talking my ears off. I slide a packet of nuts

across the countertop to him and he chuckles, saying.

"My nuts use to be hard and salty back in the days too." He runs his tongue along the top of his gappy

teeth.

I cringe, swallowing back the spew that threatens to disperse itself all over the countertop. I pick up the

wet rag and saunter towards the other end of the bar, wiping down the clean tables for the third time

this morning. I'm sure it's collected a little bit of dust by now.

As I wipe down the table, I look at the new Samsung smartwatch, Amar gave to me last night. Caddie,

Jaxson and I stayed in a hotel by his demands. He said he would feel better with us close by, where

he's able to get to us quickly if needed. He invited us to stay with him but after the shower episode

yesterday, I couldn't bring myself to be in his presence for long.

After he had given me one hell of a mind-blowing orgasm, I knelt before him, tugging at his boxers with

the intentions of returning the favour.

"Òchi, Mikros." He grabbed my hands in his and helped me up to my feet again.

"Why?" I asked him, trying to keep the disappointment out of my voice.

"I can't control myself with you being stark naked in front of me." He released my hands, wiping my hair

out of my face.

"Oh," I exhaled with a sigh.

"I don't expect you to return the favour." He reached over me, turning the shower off and retrieved a

towel, covering me.

I had asked him about my father, wanting to know if he was alive or.....

I feel someone lightly tap me on the shoulder, I stop wiping the table and turn to face whoever it is that

seeks my attention.

"Yes?" I say to the lady who is dressed all in black with a nude trenchcoat on.

She's stunning, too stunning and well dressed to be wanting a job here.

"Are you Malayina Black?" She asks in a formal tone.

"Ah. Yes, May I help you?" I look at her oddly.

I've never seen or met her in my life and I think I would remember if I did because I usually have a

good memory of faces after being on the run for a long time.

"My name's Detective Evie, Can we go somewhere a little more private?" She said politely with a soft

voice.

"May I ask why?" My body is suddenly overwhelmed with butterflies.

"Is Blair Black known as your father?" She looks at me with pity in her eyes.

"Y. Yes, he is." My heart begins to race rapidly and I feel like I'm about to pass out.

Please dont tell me Amar ordered 'The Hulk' to kill him and they've found the body already. I just know

if she questions me about yesterday and if Amar was involved I'll crack. I've never been good at lying,

deceiving yes, but not lying.

"Sure, we can go to one of the vacant rooms in the back." I walk out of the bar with her close behind

me.

As we walk through the hallway, we pass the room that will always give me the creeps. I quickly look in

the opposite direction and open the door four rooms down from my previous room.

She enters the room and her eyes aimlessly browse her surroundings. She takes out a pen from her

pocket and uses it to push the items that fascinate her around.

"Please," I motion towards the armchair in the corner of the room. "Sit."

"I prefer to stand thanks." Her face contorts with disapproval.

I sit on the end of the bed with my elbows resting against my knees, and my legs bouncing up and

down.

"Your father was dropped off at the station yesterday. He looked roughened up." She starts to explain

why she's here.

I look up at her through narrowed eyes, curious to hear what she has to say.

"Mr Black has been on our wanted list for over a decade. But with the lack of resources, we were never

able to find him, or you." She looks at me with sympathy filling her eyes.

"I'm not sure if you know this, but your father isn't your biological father. In fact, he's not the man you've

perceived him to be."

I watch her with eyes larger than saucers as I try to absorb everything she's telling me. Content © provided by NôvelDrama.Org.

"I don't understand what you're trying to tell me here." I run my fingers through my hair.

"I know you don't, and we dont have much time before Amar will come barging through that door." Her

eyes quickly fixate on the door.

"Blair abducted you and your mother thirteen years ago Malayina. Your mother's body was discovered

in the Waikato river ten years ago."

"No, my mother ran away. He told me she left me because I was more trouble than I'm worth." My voice

trembles as tears start to stream down my face.

"I'm sure he did. Your mother was six months pregnant, she was beaten severely and her injuries were

consistent with someone being repeatedly raped."

I gasp, muffling my cries with my hands.

"Blair was prostituting your mother out and if you didn't run away, he would've done the same to you."

She took a step towards me, placing her hand on my shoulder.

"Your real name is Parisa Nazari and Blair worked for the Greek mafia. Under Deacon Diamandis.

Ama-"

At that moment, the door burst open and Amar strode into the room. His eyes landed on Detective

Evie, his nostrils flared and his hands were curled into fists.

"What the fuck are you doing here, Detective?" He asked through gritted teeth.

"I've come to inform Malayina, previously known as Parisa. That the imposter whom she believed to be

her father wasn't." She said in a tone that challenged him to correct her.

"If you value your life, I suggest you leave while your tongue is still intact inside your mouth." His eyes

darted to mine and I quickly looked in the other direction.

She reached into her pocket and produced a card, offering it to me.

"If you need to get ahold of me to answer the questions you now seek." She says sympathetically.

"Leave!" He bellows out, losing control quicker than his next breath.

Evie brushes past him as she leaves the room.

"Good luck explaining to her, that your grandfather ruined her life." She looks at him with disgust and

snarls at 'The Hulk' as she walks past him.

Amar starts to close the door behind him.

"Out," I look at him with disdain evident in my voice.

"Agápi mou." He says as he slowly advances towards me.

"NO!!!" I cry out.

I pick up a pair of thick fluffy handcuffs sitting on a table beside me, I throw them at the mirrored wall

and watch it shatter. I quickly bend down, picking up a large shard of mirror and hold it against my

throat.

"Leave, or you can watch me bleed out in front of you." I whimper with my hand trembling

profusely.
