Chapter 128
-DAMON-
"Has she gotten to the safe house?" I asked Luca then glanced behind me to make sure my father hadn't heard me.
"I'll ask now but what I know is that she left a few minutes ago❞ Luca informed me and I frowned.
"What? Why? Didn't I give them specific instructions to take her out of here immediately?" I questioned and he pursed his lips before letting out a sigh.
"You may not like to hear this but Dimitri was the one who took her away. Apparently Clara has been crying in the car and Steven didn't want to use force to take her out so he let her go with him" Luca said and my whole body immediately shook with rage.
"So you mean to tell me Dimitri is alone with my wife? Call me Steven now!" I ordered through clenched and Luca nodded as he walked away when I reached out for my phone and dialed Dimitri's number but he wasn't picking up.
"That bastard" I muttered as I continuously dialed his number but it went straight to voicemail.
I tried calling Clara's phone but hers was switched off.
"Shit!" I cursed as I ran my fingers through my hair while still trying to reach them.
Soon enough, Luca came back with Steven behind him.
I immediately marched towards him and before Steven could utter a word, I punched him across the face before grabbing him by the collar.
"I asked you to take her away but yet you let that bastard take her?" I tried my best not to yell but I was seething with anger.
"I didn't know... since he's your brother, I assumed..."
"I gave you an order and I expect you to follow through with it! If something happens to my wife, be ready to follow your father down to hell!" I muttered through clenched teeth before pushing him away.
"Calm down, I'm sure Dimitri won't hurt her. She has been spending a lot of her time with him these past few days so I assume they are close" Luca said and I pursed my lips.
Clara thought I didn't know she spoke to Dimitri even though I had asked her not to. I never brought it up because I didn't want to get in a fight with her.
As of now, I didn't know what to think. I wanted to trust my wife but what reason would she have to poison my mother?
I let out a sigh as I ran my fingers through my hair. We have been here for hours and the doctors were still trying to revive her. It wasn't looking good at all and the more it took, the more my father was losing his mind.
“Get some men to go after them. I want her taken away from Dimitri, do you understand?" I told Steven and he bowed his head before hurriedly walking away and in the moment, I heard Delilah scream out in pain.
I turned around and she was crying on the ground while my father had his fingers wrapped around the doctor's neck.NôvelDrama.Org is the owner.
Luca immediately rushed towards Delilah while I walked towards my father and managed to pry him off the doctor.
"What's going on?" I questioned loudly enough to get through my father.
"Your mother isn't responding to anything we do. Her heart isn't responding. I think it's time to accept the fact that she's dead" The nurse hurriedly told me and I frowned as my father let out a pain filled howl.
"I'm going to kill Clara!" He growled out so loudly, his voice shook the entire hospital.
My father would be difficult if his wolf took total control. My stable state wouldn't be able to defeat his wolf but I was going to do all I could to protect my wife.
His name wolf was about to come through when one of the nurses screamed.
"The Queen Luna is awake!" She announced and all our eyes widened.
My father immediately pushed me aside as he ran into the emergency ward with all of us on his trail.
We saw one of the maids holding her up as she vomited some liquid on the floor.
"Baby" My father called out as he ran to her side. The nurse immediately gave way as he sat down on the bed and wrapped his arms around her. "You're okay mum" Delilah cried out as she ran towards my mother and hugged her as well.
"I'm sorry but we need to check her vitals to make sure she's okay" The doctor who my father had almost strangled to death earlier, said while he shook with fear but my father wouldn't let go of my mother.
"She's okay. Excuse us" I told him and he didn't seem like he wanted to be there so he just nodded and left with the other nurses in the room. "Don't worry baby, I'm going to kill Clara for what she did to you" My father muttered as he tightened his arms around her.
"How can you kill the person that saved me?" She questioned and we all immediately froze.
"What do you mean she saved you?" I questioned as Delilah and my father pulled away.
She glanced around and as soon as her eyes landed on Aurora, they immediately went cold.
"You!" She screamed and Aurora gasped then tried running away but Luca was able to catch her and pinned her to the ground immediately. "Let me go!" Aurora screamed and I frowned.
"What's going on?" Delilah questioned as we were all confused.
"Aurora was the one who poisoned me. She wanted me dead so she could pin it on Clara" My mother announced which just made me more confused.
"That can't be true. We saw the bottle Clara used in treating you and it has poison inside. She admitted to poisoning you" Delilah said and My mother.
"Where is she? I wanted to ask for her forgiveness because I doubted her. The day your father sent for her, she came into my room and told me I was going to die because Aurora had been poisoning me. Of course I didn't believe her, I practically raised Aurora so I believed Aurora wouldn't do such a thing. I even threatened that I would have her banished if she ever said such words again and that no one would take her side over Aurora, nor even you Damon and now I know that was a wrong thing for me to say to her when all she was trying to do was expose Aurora's evilness. She came everyday but she never gave me any medicine whereas when Aurora came to visit me, she always gave me something to drink and I thought she was just trying to help but then i noticed i was getting worse rather than better so i thought back and realized i started to feel sick again when Aurora gave me that thing to drink. Clara's words immediately began to make sense but by the time I realized it, I was already dying" She explained and we all gasped in unison, shocked by her revelation.
“Why didn't she treat you immediately instead of letting it get worse? Why didn't she tell someone?” Delilah questioned and my mother sighed.
"She said she tried telling Damon but
he dismissed her immediately and after what Ktold her earlier, she feared that no one would believe her
and she would get in trouble sol needed to be proof. As long as believed her, you all will believe her as well" My mother told us and I frowned as guilt settled down at the pit of my stomach.
She tried telling me but I hadn't listened. I hadn't believed her.
"Then what about the poison she gave you? She admitted to poisoning you" My father questioned.
"By the time I believed her, Aurora's
poison was already killing me and the only way to battle with poison was to give me one stronger than the one Aurora gave me. She did tell me my heart was going to stop for a while but if I was able to beat that stage, all the poison that Aurora had been feeding me for years would be flushed away. At first I thought I was going to die but the poisons are what I just vomited" She told us and we all went quiet for a while.
"What if you hadn't made me? What if you died from both poison?" Delilah questioned softly and my mother smiled.
“She gave me something else and assured me that I wouldn't die and at that moment, I trusted no one else more than I trusted Clara. Where is she? I want to thank her" My mother uttered and I frowned as they all turned to me.
I had sent away because I was worried she was going to get hurt. What I didn't know was that she planned this whole thing just to expose Aurora to
us.
I couldn't help the proudness that swelled in my heart and hoped that Clara would forgive me for ever doubting her when I got her back from Dimitri
but for now...
I turned around and glared down at Aurora as she struggled against Luca's hold.
It's time to finally kill this bitch...
