Chapter 676
"What about the injured one? Will you kill him?" Rosalie asked.
“He's already injured. Why should I kill him?” The man picked up his phone. "The left button is Theodore Spencer, and the right button is Sebastian Carter. The bottom-most button is for both of them dead. Which button should I press? Should I injure one of them, or should I just kill them both? Why don't you tell me?"
"No, I can't make the choice! None of them should get hurt or die. I'm begging you, let them go! I'll play whatever games you want, just let them go!" The man was losing his patience. "I'll give you ten seconds to choose one, or both will die."
With that, he started counting down. "Ten, nine..."
"How badly injured will the injured one be?" Rosalie asked anxiously.
"Eight, seven, six..."
“Answer me, or how am I going to choose?"
"Five, four..."
"I'm begging you, don't be like this!"
"Three, two, one."
"I choose Theodore Spencer!"
Rosalie was forced to make a choice in a moment of desperation.
The man smirked upon hearing Theodore's name. "So, you chose Theodore. Does that mean you want Sebastian to be injured?"
The man's finger shifted to the button on the right as he spoke.
“No, no,” Rosalie said in a trembling voice. She looked up with eyes filled with tears. “I meant that I choose for Theodore...to be injured.” The moment Rosalie spoke, the man pressed a button on the phone.
Theodore and Sebastian searched the entire building, but found no traces of Rosalie.Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.
"Rose! Rose, where are you?"
"Stop yelling," Theodore said. “She's not here! There's no point shouting like that!"
"Say something useful, then!" Sebastian spat, enraged. "If you can't, shut up!"
"Hah," Theodore sneered. "Sebastian Carter, do you remember what you told me that day at the restaurant?x Seems like I was right after all. You i depend on Rose to protect you, and you're utterly useless. With you, she ended up getting kidnapped. As her husband, you couldn't protect her at all!"
"Shut up, Theodore Spencer! You have no right to say that!"
Sebastian lurched forward, wanting to punch Theodore. Suddenly, an arrow whizzed past and pierced Theodore in his chest.
Theodore looked down, and saw
blood gushing out of his chest. He stood stunned for a moment before stumbling back and then collapsing on the floor. He held his hands over his chest as his face turned pale.
Sebastian hurriedly hid behind a pillar, and looked around him.
"Hahaha..."
A man's laughter sounded in the air.
"Sebastian Carter, there's no need to fear. I'm just shooting Theodore Spencer, You're safe now. Go out from here, turn right, and go straight three miles. Rosalie's there; find her and take her home.
“Really? You're not lying to me?" Sebastian asked.
"Is there a need for me to lie to you? Your wife has made her choice, and she chose you. You should feel happy.”
"She chose me? What do you mean by that?" Sebastian asked.
"She chose to keep you safe, and for Theodore to be injured."
Joy filled Sebastian's heart when he heard that.
Theodore held a hand over his bleeding chest and struggled to crawl up from the ground, but the blood that kept gushing out made him feel weaker and weaker by the minute.
