Chasing My Pregnant Wife

Chapter 165

Chapter 165

"Grandma, why are you bringing up that surgery out of nowhere? Cindy's already been through a lot. You don't need to..." Theodore began.

"Quiet!" Rebecca interrupted him. "I'm talking to Ms. Zeller. What's it to you?"

"Yes, Theo," Sydney chimed in. "Let your grandmother finish speaking. Don't get anxious. It's not like she's going to beat her up or anything."Content bel0ngs to Nôvel(D)r/a/ma.Org.

Theodore didn't know what to say, and Cynthia was extremely nervous.

Ms. Zeller, is your health not so great now because of that surgery? I heard there were also some issues with your heart. Please answer the question, Rebecca asked again.

Cynthia nodded. "Yes."

"Okay," Rebecca continued. "Your surgery had complications because the donor's arrival was delayed, which caused one of your lungs to fail. I heard that the reason for the delay was me. Apparently, I deliberately obstructed it, and used your surgery to threaten Theo."

Cynthia's face went pale. "Ma'am, why are you suddenly saying this? I don't understand what you mean."

Theodore's expression turned grim. "Grandma, this matter is in the past. Let's not bring it up again."

"I'm going to talk about it because things need to be clarified. I can't bear this blame for nothing," Rebecca said, furrowing her brows. "Ms. Zeller, is this what you think? And did you also tell Rose that I did this?"

Rosalie didn't know what to say. She hadn't expected Rebecca to bring up this matter. Still, it really needed to be clarified. If it wasn't Rebecca's doing, then how could she listen to Cynthia's baseless accusations?

"Grandma, Cindy didn't do that. You shouldn't..." Theodore said.

"Quiet!" Rebecca cut off Theodore. "Am I talking to you?! Where did you learn to interrupt elders like this? Was it this woman who taught you to disrespect your elders?"

"Grandma, I'm just discussing the matter at hand."

"I'm also discussing the matter at hand. This woman actually said that I stopped her surgery to threaten you. Tell me, do you also know about this? Did you believe her words?"

"Enough! This matter is in the past. Can we not bring it up again?' Theodore seemed quite annoyed as he grabbed Cynthia's hand, intending to take her away.

"Hold on! If we don't clarify things today, don't blame me for not holding back!" Rebecca slammed the table angrily, showing she meant business.

Cynthia was scared, and started crying. She trembled, and bowed her head.

Seeing Cynthia's theatrics, Rosalie felt disgusted. This woman only knew how to play the victim.

"Grandma, please don't get angry," Rosalie advised. "It's not worth getting sick over.

"Rose, why are you slandering me? I never said that it was Theo's grandmother who did it! How can you take things out of context like this?" Cynthia cried.

Rosalie huffed. "Taking things out of context? Back then, you were very clear with me. You said it was Grandma who used her influence to deliberately stop the lung transplant surgery to threaten Theo. I'm not taking things out of context."

"You are!" Cynthia sobbed. "I only said it might be like that. I wasn't sure of the specifics. But you told Madam Jarvis something different. Isn't that slander?"
