Chasing My Pregnant Wife

Chapter 1065

"Stop covering up for him." Christopher shot Yvonne a cold glance. "What if you were in Rosalie's shoes? At the very least, both of them should know about this. Now that Rosalie wants to divorce your brother, are you going to watch as he goes to any lengths to get her back?"

"But Seb treats her so well! When she was hurt by Theodore, it was my brother who stayed by her side. If it weren't for him, she might have even fallen into depression. Seb has never hurt her, and he never will. He will only love her more and treat her better each day that passes!"

"Sometimes, the greatest harm in this world comes from love," Christopher said heavily. "Yvonne, you're still too young. There's a lot you don't understand. Love isn't enough. Love can also be the most harmful weapon, and it could hurt Rosalie."

"If we're afraid of everything, then we should do nothing," Yvonne countered. "Even going outside could be dangerous, since there's always the risk of a car accident. Should we just never leave the house? I think Seb treats Rosalie well. He loves her while her ex-husband constantly hurts her. Uncle, please, just don't tell Rosalie about this for now."

Christopher sighed. "Yvonne, you should go back for now. I still have some things to take care of."This is from NôvelDrama.Org.

Then, Christopher got into his car and left.

Inside the car, Christopher stared silently out the window at the fleeting scenery. He suddenly felt a bit gloomy.

He took out his phone and dialed a number he hadn't called in a long time.

After the call connected, Christopher spoke. "Do you have time? Let's have dinner together."

Night fell.

Christopher and Sydney had arranged to meet at a restaurant.

He had booked the entire place, and the two sat in a quaint private room. The large floor-to-ceiling windows offered a view of the beautiful scenery-the lake's surface rippled gently, and the stars sparkled in the sky.

Sydney had made an effort to dress up. She hadn't expected Christopher to contact her again. Since their kiss a few months ago in that private room he hadn't reached out to her. Sydney had been very busy

well.

She thought that it was all over-that Christopher had lost interest, or maybe because she was a married woman and avoided contacting her to prevent any misunderstandings.

Today, she unexpectedly received his call. Upon hearing his voice, Sydney was a little disoriented, thinking he had dialed the wrong number. Christopher had told her that he wanted to have dinner with her, so she came to meet him.

Christopher, too, had dressed up. His suit was sharp and immaculate, exuding the charm of a mature, elite man.

"Sorry I haven't contacted you in so long. I've been really busy, and a lot of things have happened recently," Christopher said.

"I know you're busy. It's fine. There's no need to apologize," Sydney said. Whether or not Christopher contacted her was of little concern to Sydney, since they didn't have any kind of relationship to begin with.

"Actually, it wasn't just because I

was busy. After what happened last time, I was worried you might feel awkward, so I didn't dare contact

you. I thought maybe you'd reasmet

out, but when you didn't, I figured we'd just leave it at that." He gave an awkward smile. "Guess I was the one to make the first move, after all."

Sydney flashed him a small smile. "Mr. Jackson, let's not talk about that anymore. It's all in the past."

"Alright, I won't mention it. So, how have things been for you recently?" Christopher asked.
