Chapter 7. Coming Back Home
Two days later I was back home. Ian, my lawyer was at the hospital previously to assist me with the paperwork for them. Then when we got home, Regan his daughter was there waiting for us.
He asked previously, was it okay if Regan joined us. He said that she has been asking about me. We used to be really close in college, but after Collin, we just drifted apart.
“Nicolette, hey how are you holding up? I’m sorry I haven’t visited you. I’m just not sure about where we stand, since Collin. I should’ve fought harder for you when he told me things about you. God, I’m so sorry, Nic.” She hugged me, it felt so nice to have her back.
“I miss you, Regan, I miss us, I miss having friends. It’s not your fault Reg, look can we just move past everything and move on?” I hugged her back and wiped my tears away. Happy tears, for having my friend back.
“Thank you, Ian, thank you for bringing her back into my life.” I hugged her dad.
“There… there child. I’m just glad you’re okay and moving on with your life. I’ve tried to set you up, with your bare necessities in the house. Financially your good for the next couple of months, until you sold the house and moved to a smaller one. Then we can talk about, some investment for your future. It’s doable Nicolette, don’t worry we will help you out. I’ve known your family for a long time, I know they would’ve done the same for my Regan.” He hugged me back and kissed my temple.
“Nicolette?” Brenton called me out from the open door, he was there standing with Laura by his side. He looked upset with me.
Why? What is he doing here anyway?
I walked to the door to greet them. “Hey Brenton, Laura, come on in.” I hugged them both.
But Brenton pulled me in, his hands were cupping my head. He kissed me passionately leaving me breathless. While my hands, barely even had time touch him. Laura was coughing beside us. “Well, I didn’t see this one coming.” She grinned.
“Come on Nicolette, leave Brenton to get your things from his car. We come by to deliver you stuff, including your paintings. They’re very good I must confess, never thought you were a painter before. I see you have visitors?” She mentioned as we walk into the house.
“Oh, sorry Laura. This is Ian Roberts you’ve met before, he’s my family lawyer and dearest friend of my parents, and this is Regan his daughter, my best friend. We just get back just now, you know… Collin.” I didn’t continue just let it hang, and she understood.
I saw Brenton was carrying my stuff, to the living room.
“Hey Brenton, come here let me introduce you to Ian and his daughter Regan,” I called him out.
“Ian, Regan this is Brenton Adams, his one of the volunteers at the hospital he teaches art class.” Ian was looking a bit skeptical, but Regan was looking starstruck? As they shake hands.
“Oh my god! You’re THE Brenton Adams? Shit! Nic. If I weren’t gay. I would be so jealous of you right now.” I was crimson right now, Laura was laughing behind me now.
So he’s famous?
“Regan, language kiddo. Your father is still in the room.” Brenton was at ease now that I had introduced everyone.
Ian left not long after, said he had another meeting. Laura and Regan were busy, helping me set up my stuff and boxing off Collin’s stuff from my room to give to charity. I was going to do it my self but I couldn’t, too many bad memories.
So I was left in the kitchen, preparing lunch for all of us with Brenton.
“So I never knew you’re famous? I knew you’re very good at painting, genius I might say. But why didn’t you mention it to me, you’re that good?” He just shrugged.
“Didn’t see the need, but if it gets you to be my muse. Then… yes I’m famous, I even have a clutch of groupies stalking me. That’s why I like hanging out at the hospital. Nobody would know me. Except for the attendants, but they’re used to me by now.” He explained. This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org.
“So, does this means you will be my muse?” He got closer to me, trapping me between his arms, leaning between me and the kitchen island. He started lowering his head down. His deep voice traveled to my ear, giving me goosebumps.
Damn! Sexy! Can’t hold off any longer.
“Kiss me.” My voice came out as a whispered, as I tried to hold my feelings in control.
He smirked, lowering down his lips and roughly crushed his to mine, his hand traveled to the back of my neck, gripping it closer. He groaned as I opened my mouth letting him in. We were moaning each other’s names when he suddenly let me go. Then we heard Laura and Regan’s voice coming to the kitchen.
“Well then I should, we should, right, let me just…” He laughed seeing my awkwardness. I saw my reflection on the mirror by the joining kitchen wall to the living room. I was blushing, my lips were all swollen, and he was loving it.
We continued our lunch talking and laughing. I never knew that I would have a good time in this house, ever again. Although this house reminded me of Collin, with our last time here where he mentally abused me. But this was also my childhood home.
There were more memories of me and my parents here. That was why it was still bearable for me to be here and lived here for the next couple of months. Until I found a smaller place, and be with myself, and continued my life, whatever the future had in plan for me.
Laura decided to came home first, and Brenton was taking her back. She scribbled down her phone number and also Brenton’s. Just in case I needed anything more, from the hospital or just wanted to talk to.
“Call me tonight, I’ll be waiting.” Brenton slurred his word in my ear, while slightly biting it, without anyone seeing. I close my eyes and sighed.
I was a bit sad when he left. But then Regan was all hyped about him, waiting for me to spill.
“Damn! Nic. Seriously, he’s like the most wanted bachelor in the art industry. I think you should be careful with him. But, I also think you should have a good time with him and forget about Collin! Oh my god, Nic! I’m torn here. I’m not supposed to give you bad inputs as your best friend.” She hugged and she laughed, looking giddy like a kid on a candy rush.
Regan left an hour later her girlfriend was picking her up, she introduced Leslie to me. And they left minutes later leaving me alone in the big house.
I decided to take a warm bath and played with my new phone that Ian got me today. There was already Ian’s and Regan’s number in there, and I already typed Laura and Brenton’s. So seconds later I was smiling, and googling Brenton Adams.
