Chapter 731
As Nash spoke, his eyes turned completely red. He did not offer Nina any comforting promises about the baby.
Her survival was essential. Nash knew himself well. Whether it was due to his physical condition or his feelings for Nina, he could not face raising a child without her.
Nash's words ignited a fire within Nina. She could not afford to give in to despair. Gritting her teeth, she mustered all her strength, fighting against the pain and exhaustion.
"Nash, you bastard!" Nina growled through her gritted teeth. As she pushed with all her might, she felt the baby finally leave her body. The immense effort left her utterly drained, and she collapsed, her body going limp.Têxt © NôvelDrama.Org.
A loud cry filled the car.
The doctor lifted the newborn, announcing with relief, "It's a boy."
The doctor then turned to Nash, showing him the baby. But the sight and smell of blood overwhelmed him. The tiny, defenseless baby, crying and vulnerable, triggered an intense, almost violent reaction in Nash. He clenched his fists, unable to look at the child.
"Take him away," Nash ordered, his voice strained.
The doctor initially expected Nash to be elated, being a new father for the first time. But his response left her stunned. Seeing his menacing expression, as if he might harm the baby, she quickly moved the infant away, not daring to stay close.
But Nina's condition was even more critical. The doctor noticed her declining state and exclaimed, "This isn't good. The mother's pulse is weak. We need to get her to the hospital immediately!" "We're almost there!" the driver replied urgently.
The doctor checked on the baby again and found he had stopped crying, his previously vigorous movements subdued, and his face turning a concerning shade of blue. "Both the mother and child need urgent treatment!"
The car finally reached the hospital entrance, where medical staff were waiting.
Nash hurriedly got out, carefully lifting the unconscious Nina. "Do whatever it takes to save her!" he shouted as he followed the medical team.
The nurses took the baby away. Nina's face was deathly pale. She did not even get to hear her baby's first cry before she passed out.
Her breathing was faint, and her
heartbeat was slow. At that
moment, she felt like she was dying, her body felt light, as if she were floating away. Her vision turned black.
Nina was wheeled into the emergency room, leaving Nash outside, anxiously waiting. He knew he could not just wait. Only the antidote could save her!
The doctor had warned him that childbirth would deplete Nina's remaining strength. If she gave birth, she might die.
He could not wait any longer.
Nash's eyes were bloodshot, his frustration barely contained. The violent impulses within him were on the verge of taking over. He felt an overwhelming urge to lash out at the world.
Just then, he heard a voice, "Mr. York, someone is here to see you. He says you'll definitely want to meet him right now!"
Those words managed to suppress Nash's inner beast. He turned and saw Quincy with a troubled expression.
Nash immediately understood, "Take me to him right away!"
