Caught Between The twin CEO

Chapter 38

The loyalty of a dog to its owner, irrespective of how he’s treated or fed, was the case of Sydney. She was the stray dog of the Whites family, they could mold her, fold her or even break her but her loyalty stands.

Not like she had any choice going against them but if she could at least try she half of her burden will be lifted off her shoulder. Or so she thought.

Jaxton gave her five minutes to brush up herself and come down to the park but she was taking more than she was given. Her heart was heavy with worry and she couldn’t stop wondering what Jaxton needed to see her for.

She believes that Paxton was keeping an eye on her and Jaxton asking her out during work hours will only increase her punishment.

She wouldn’t have been this disturbed if he had called her after work but the ugly feeling would still remain. Was he calling her out for sex as he always does or is it something more than that?

She couldn’t put a finger into it. For the past few days Jaxton has been unsualing sweet and possessive, she sensed something different in his tone. Was it a tone of ownership or…

She dismissed the thought and promised herself that she would cut ties with Jaxton no matter the situation and finally put an end to their ill relationship.

Jaxton’s phone beeped and he brought it over to his face to check who it was. “Great!” He exclaimed, opening the message to read its contents.

“Everything is set.” The message read.

A smile crossed his face as he put the phone back down, he glanced at his wrist watch and hoped Sydney would be there on time.

He prepared a surprise for her which he was sure she would love. He spent lots of money preparing this surprise unless she had an ill fate.

His organs jubileted with him and he was feeling so impressed with himself. As he thought of the big smile that she would be wearing when he pops the question he couldn’t help smiling.

“If imagining it makes her look this beautiful then I should always make her smile.. ” he thought to himself.Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.

Jaxton vows never to let go of Sydney, she is his to keep and not even Paxton can stop him from having her. He wore his jacket and prepared to leave.

Sydney got to the park but there was no sight of Jaxton, “did he play a prank on her?” She thought.

No, he was too serious to be all jokes. She brought out her phone and dialed Jaxton’s number but she was directed to the voicemail. This happened a couple of times and honestly, she was getting really tired and angry.

She saw no reason why he would force her out in five minutes and take the whole time to get there. Why make her hurry when he knows he wouldn’t be early himself.

“Asshole!” She cussed, biting hard on her lip.

In a bid to calm herself she walked to and fro the park, kicking and venting out her anger on the empty space.

Jaxton walked in to witness her petty way of dealing with her anger, he stopped to pay attention to her clumsy moves and laughed heartily to himself.

Sydney grew tired of venting and turned to check if Jaxton was there yet but he quickly bent her head in awkwardly, her cheeks red with embarrassment.

Jaxton chuckled at her uncomfortable face and walked towards, his eyes held under her gaze. He was looking really happy that Sydney wondered what his plans really were.

In no minute Jaxton was in front of Sydney and he pulled her into a warm hug, his cologne drifted into her nose sending butterflies into her stomach.

She quickly pulled out of the hug and stared down at her fingers, avoiding his eyes which were eating deep into her.

Slowly, she tapped her head trying to get rid of the naughty feeling in her stomach. How can she even feel him in this kind of situation?

“Did I make you wait long?” He asked with a sweet smile.

“Not for too long.” She responded with an eye roll causing him to chuckle.

He knew that she was lying, how can she say that when he had walked in on her punching and murmuring angry words to the innocent air. Hmphh…

She does know how to hide her emotions well.

“I’m sorry, still.” He apologized and held out the door for her. She stepped into the car muttering a ‘thank you’, he did the same and drove out of the company afterwards.

The car pulled into an exquisite restaurant, it was the best she had ever seen and she got even luckier when she tasted their food. It was the best she has ever eaten.

“Hmmm… the taste is nice.” She complimented and Jaxton let out a smile.

“I’m really sorry for how my brother has been treating you, we’ve gotten into the matter and he accepted that he had a misunderstanding of you but it’s all cleared out so you have nothing to worry about.”

Sydney stopped eating to look at him, shock written all over her face.

“You kidding right? I mean how did you… ” she choked on her food and Jaxton quickly passed her the water.

“It wasn’t easy honestly, we got into a fight but you know Paxton is just too difficult to agree with.”

“I’m glad it’s all settled now, I had thought I would end the day on a bad note but here we are. I’m really happy to hear this.” Though she had breaking thoughts lurking around her mind, she chose to believe that all will be good from now on.

Before Sydney could understand what was happening. Jaxton moved closer to her and whispered into her ear; “be my girlfriend.”

Sydney was shocked beyond words and had mixed feelings, was it the smiles or his sweet words that was making her head go spiralling?
