“I do not care if you tell your brother we share a night! This is more than torture!!” She flamed out of hunger and tiredness Sydney forgot her secret is with Jaxton for a moment.

“You sure do have some guts to shout at me in that manner.” His sly voice and smirk, made her shudder.

“To think that you’ll want to have your way with everything! It’s not possible.” About to hang up when he said,

“You want me to tell the whole world right? I’ll do just that, My queen. Bye bye”

“Wait!” She stopped him.

“What is it that you want from me” standing up, her hands on her waist,

“What you have drives me crazy. We’re just eating out at Beulah diné. ” he said before hanging up, not waiting for her to disagree.

“Damnit!” She cursed biting her lower lip.

“It was dinner, just one last dinner.” She said to herself as she walked towards the parking lot,

“Tiredness is written all over you, let’s take it that way,” he opened the door, beckoning her to enter, she hesitated a little, and he smiles,

“Am not eating you.” She lets out laughs, then enters, at least he was more of a gentleman than his cruel-hearted brother.

Sydney never thought he called her for dinner. Sydney was happy and ate her fill.

Well, he must sure flirt with her but she ignored his flirts and ate her fill, an opportunity like this only comes once in a blue moon.

Jaxton took her home,

“This is where you live?” He asked, she nods.

“Thanks for tonight, I enjoyed myself. You were being a pervert with the call but maybe you could also be a perfect gentleman too.” She complimented me and was very grateful.

“Well, am glad you see me that way now. But your secret does know how to break you out of your shell, it’s really handy,” he laughs, she hits him,

“Ouch,” he groaned,” Am I wrong?

“You can’t continue to scare me like that.” ” I love this job no matter her tedious it is, I’m willing to take it”

“Or you just date me instead and I’ll make sure all your needs are met” she looked at him, sighing pitifully at how he was wasting his handsome,

“I think I’d leave now. I must wake up early tomorrow” She added, “Bye, Sir”

“Call me Jaxton when we’re off work” he beams a little,

“Goodnight.” She thanked him and hit her bed as soon as she got in.

She got to work the next day early to avoid Paxton’s trouble. And worked till Lunch and quickly had her lunch in case Jaxton called her,

The day almost come to an end, she was a bit jolted with work but she was she hadn’t seen Jaxton since today.

She was still on her system when Paxton called her,

“To my office now,” and hung up,

“Sydney?” She turned, it was the lady from yesterday,

“Are you down for a drink after work today?” Her glossy eyes got to her but she was sure that Paxton was going to give new files to work on and was not sure if she was going to let off easily today,

“Am sorry…?” Trying to guess her name.

“Melody.” She completed.

“Sorry, Melody, not sure if I’ll be chanced but promise to meet up with you during the weekend.” She promised, almost heading out,

“Sure.” But Sydney had left for the boss’s office.

“Wonder why the boss is so hard on her,” she thought, before turning to her system to finish her work.

As soon as she entered, a pile of files was already waiting for her,

“Do that.” She nods and takes it out without much argument.

His assignment got Sydney busy, her cellphone rang, she looked at the caller,

It was Jaxton.

“Jaxton… please not now” she ignored the call and then silenced it, to make her focus on what she was met to do

Jaxton called and called but Sydney was busy.

By the time Sydney finished it was already dark.

“Finally, it’s over.” She picked up her phone,

“You’ve been vibrating non-stop for hours now” she turned on her phone, swiping down to see Jaxton missed call

“Shit! 13 missed calls? Am I dead or something?” She sighs, then a thought flew in,

“What if he gets angry and spills everything?” Instantly fear gripped her.

She was not scared. Grabbed her purse to go call him to meet up with her, but then the door flew open when she walked in angrily.

“Jaxton? She called but he didn’t reply.

“You’re so dead, Sydney,” she thought.

“What happened to your phone?” Did he go straight to the point?

“Am sorry, I was choked up at work. The boss gave me a lot of things to do today. I’m just rounding it up as you walked in” she tried to justify herself,

“Am not blind to see that you’re working but are limbless to pick up?” He asked, he had never been this hard on her, so she could clearly say he was upset.

“Am sorry,” she lowered her head, ” please take it out on me but don’t tell anyone. He became irritated,

“Are you that busy?

It’s not my fault, and besides Mr. Paxton gave me loads of work. What am I supposed to do about that?”

“Like I care? Figure that out yourself. All I know is that if this happens again, then the world would hear what secret you are hiding ” he threatened her again, and she shuddered in fear, clutching her fist.

Paxton whom they don’t know was present,

“What secret are you two hiding that I don’t know?” Sydney froze at the sound of Paxton’s voice, she immediately wished the ground would open up and swallow her, then face this shame.
