Interruption
“No no please stop.” Nima was holding her stomach while holding out her hand to make Joel stop speaking.
She has laughed so much that her stomach now hurts. Thank God they had later strolled inside the park to sit on a bench before he got to the silly parts.
Apparently, Joel had not found the opposite sex attractive in his teens. He began to wonder if his fellow men would be his choice of companion.
Then he had some issues in his gut, making him unable to pass out stool.
After taking medicine and instructions from his mother, he was able to successfully attempt it.
Like Joel had said about him being an expressive storyteller, he wore every expression he discussed and imitated every action he had done back then.
Seeing him clenching his hands to gesture how hard he struggled to push out the stool, Nima was near dropping to the floor and laughing her heart out.
“Please enough.” She managed to plead.
“Are you okay?” Joel asked.
“You are so shameless. You’ve ruined my makeup.” Nima complained after she managed to stop laughing.
The tears that escaped her eyes had mixed with mascara from her lashes, smudging her makeup a bit.
“Let me help.” Joel offered, bringing out a handkerchief and lightly dabbing the black tears.
The atmosphere suddenly took a 360° turn as both became aware of their proximity.
They were so close that both could feel every exhale of breath from the other.
Joel smirked, seemingly unperturbed, while Nima’s face grew hot. Her cheeks turned redder in hue.
“Makeup saved. Not that you look less angelic without it.” Joel said while pulling away to maintain their previous space.
“Thanks.” Nima muttered softly, avoiding eye contact.
Being aware that she’s flustered, Joel decided to stay quiet to give her time to pull herself together.
Only God knows how badly he’s controlling his actions. He would seduce and hint sexual suggestions with every word and action of his till Nima melted and would want them to go make love till day breaks, but Adam warning kept him in check.
He didn’t want to scare her away. He wants her to want the whole of him, not just a one night stand.
He would go insane if he did anything that made him lose Nima.
Surprisingly, he was having a very good time with her. He understood that not only sexual situations could pull a man’s attention to a woman.
He wanted both. To know her and to melt his body to her own.
To clear the sudden awkwardness, Nima asked, “what happened next. Don’t be expressive, please, unless you wish to end me with laughter. My stomach already hurts from it.”
Joel shrugged. “Nothing much happened. Just then, I realized the shit that nearly made my life hell couldn’t even match my morning erection. And I’m fooling myself that I might lay with a man? God! I’d rather die first.” Joel shook his shoulders as if a shudder ran down his entire body.
Nima burst into another fit of laughter.
“Angel, at ease. You said your stomach hurt.” Joel tried to make her stop.
“Your erection. I can’t believe we are talking about your erection right now.” She laughed more, holding her stomach once again.
Worried now, Joel warned. “Calm down, Angel. You just ate a while ago.”
Nima nodded, trying to calm herself while Joel shook his head and pulled out his handkerchief once again.
“Come here, you’ve got tears again.” He said and, this time, placed one hand to the back of her neck to secure her head still, before softly dabbing the mascara smudge that was near trickling down her cheek.
Once again, aware of the proximity, it felt different now that he was holding her neck so intimately.
Nimalaya felt her throat itch, and she gulped involuntarily, making his eyes tilted to focus on hers.
Her heart pounded against her ribcage, and the smile fully vanished from her face as her body grew tense.
“All done.” Joel said softly, his breath fanning her face.
Nima’s chest heaved, and she stared as his gaze strolled down to her lips.
“Nimalaya.” Her name rolled from his lips, making her inside shuddered in delight.
He barely said her name, and what happened to her heart when he did was maddening.
It felt like he was born to speak it.
Her lips quivered and parted on their own.
Unable to resist, Joel leaned in to have a taste before Adam’s word once again rang in his head.
He contemplated whether a kiss could be all Nima wanted. Should he just do it?
While lost in those thoughts, “Excuse me, guys. Sorry for breaking up your moment, but could you please assist my old self on the swing?” An old croaked voice tore their gaze from each other.
Nima cleared her throat while Joel’s gaze remained on her for a brief seconds before turning to stare at the old woman who smiled mischievously.
He wasn’t sure how to feel about the intrusion.
Nime had clearly wanted him to kiss her. Her eyes don’t have a hint of hesitation in them, making him ponder if it were because she was enjoying his company as much as he was doing hers or they were leaning towards their one night stand that Adam had warned him about.
“Sure grandma.” Joel said to the well-dressed old woman, who maintained the hintful smile on her face.
Nima was still reeling in the emotions that had clouded her mind at the moment their lips almost touched.
He smells so nice and looks so compelling at such proximity that she nearly pulled him in herself.
“Give me a moment, angel.” Joel excused himself, walking the old woman to the swing, knowing fully well that Nima couldn’t tolerate strangers.
Nima absentmindedly nodded while giving the old woman a tight smile as she apologized once again for breaking their kiss, making heat rise up to Nima’s cheeks once again.
She furiously fanned herself with her palm before flinching at footsteps nearing her.
She looked up to see it was Joel. The old woman was waiting while staring at them.
“You would be okay on your own for a few moments, right?” Joel asked, and Nima affirmed once again by nodding her head.
“My eyes won’t sway from your side, so don’t worry.” He gave her an assuring look before returning to the old woman.
Nima watched him leave, her eyes appreciating his lean body and impressive height.Content is property of NôvelDrama.Org.
She bit down on her lower lip, suddenly recalling that her hair was still held up.
She brought up her hands and removed the hard band, letting her hair loose and arranging it properly to look more breathtaking.
