CAST OUT

Chapter 55

Reconcile

Elina quietly sips from the bottle of vodka, as she stares into space in the bar. Nothing seems to be getting her at the moment. She took a huge gulp of the drink. And dropped it in on the table. With a sigh.

“Hey, I need another bottle!” She yelled over the loud music. She was tipsy already, she could feel it. But she needs more drink.

“You shouldn’t bother about that.”

Someone slumped down on the next seat which was beside her.

She wipes her eyes to look at the intruder. Glaring at the person from beneath her lashes.

“Who the fuck are you?” She screeched, standing on her feet, but staggered backward, falling back into the chair she sat on.

“I know you’ll be here.” She yanked the bottle from her hands.

“Bar. bra..” she hiccups.

“Yes, it’s me! Winch!” She yelled in her face.

“You shouldn’t drink too much because of a jerk.”

“Why are you here?” She slurred.

“Why else would I be there, I saw the picture online, he’s getting married, as soon as she recovers from whatever illness they said she was having. I know he would send you out. Or kill you. But he chose the former. Now get up. You shouldn’t be wasting your life this way.”

“It’s already wasted.” She grabbed the bottle with Barbra. With a hand, she pushed Elina aside. She falls off the chair. Unto the ground. She stood up, holding the table.

“Give me my drink and get the fuck out of here, I don’t wanna see your stupid face ever again!”

“Go away!”

“I want to, but I can’t, you were my best friend, like a sister. I did the stupidest thing ever, I don’t know. It just happened. I’m sorry Elina. I don’t even know why I can’t stop thinking about you. I thought I was gonna hate you. I tried but I couldn’t. Instead, I keep hating myself. That’s all my fault.”

“Go to Hell!” She slurred. Eventually getting hold of the bottle again.

Barbra wiped her tears off with her palm.

“I’m sorry, El, I ran over here, even to your house, I was planning on going to meet Kenzo if I didn’t see you. I was scared, I was gonna lose someone again. And if something had happened to you. I would never have forgiven myself. I was excited when I found you here. I told you he was gonna Cast you out, he never did believe. You’ve seen it now, haven’t you? I’m sorry El.” She cried.

El cried as well. She didn’t know the particular she cried, but she cried for a whole lot of reasons. And for her life in particular. Did cast her out of his life.

Pulling her into a hug.

Mother, were you watching?

Did you see how fucked up your daughter’s life is?

How stupid she had been.

She remembered, she saw the news online, his engagement. How could she forget about that? She had been so carried away. And everything became like a dream to her.

Her life taking a turn overnight!

Damn her life!

“I’m sorry for being a pain in ya ass.”

“Sorry for being a bitch and acting like I never care and like I hated you. I never did. I was just pissed with myself, I was jealous of you.”

Elina pulled away from the hug.

“Jealous?”

“Yeah, you were pretty, smart, and have a perfect figure. Ha. I wasn’t any of that.” She understood the bitter laugh she did. In between the lines.

“I was acting like a teenager, I know. You acted Like you didn’t know, made me annoyed. But I love you. You were my best friend. I can’t leave Ray for you. I love him.”

Elina chuckled.

“You can have the shithead. I was the ugly one, I admire you a lot. I looked up to you too. But after what you did. I hated you to the core. I was gonna have my revenge on you.”

She sighed. With her eyes down at her feet.

“You Love Ray, you could have the asshole!”

She screamed.

They shared a small laugh. Barbra held her so she won’t fall off the chair again.

“Still tipsy.” With the last gulp, she finished the entire vodka and dropped the bottle.

“Let’s go home.”

“Home, yes home.” She laughed hysterically.

Barbra lift her off her feet. With a hand over her shoulders, taking her out of the bar.

Aziel hid when he saw them coming his way. That was his little sister, he had no idea how fast she had grown or how the years had slipped through. She was just a baby when he left home or rather, he was used to paying a debt their father owns. That was the last time he remembered being around his family. He never thought he would see her again or he never searched for them either. But she came to him.

That he had a family and she was his family, the only one left. He wouldn’t have known, he wouldn’t have bothered searching for them and finding out what happened.

He would’ve been leaving his life just as he had been with Kenzo and nothing was gonna change that now or never.

But he wanted her close and safe. She was his sister, the baby he couldn’t wait for them to have. And when she was born, he was so protective of her.

With his injured shoulder, he hid behind the table, as they walked past him.

He had been here to make sure she was alright and if anyone impose a threat he was gonna be ready to attack, he thought Barbra would be, but she wasn’t, seems she wouldn’t be in much harm anyway, but he couldn’t say, he had to be there to watch her and he had to protect the master too that was his duty and his promise.

He would watch her till Sambas is strong enough to stand on his feet again.

He couldn’t say how much relief he felt that he didn’t kill her.

She wasn’t supposed to leave the mansion alive because of what she knew and what she saw.

But she did, grateful his master was able to listen to his plea.

And allow her to be alive. He didn’t wanna do it either. It made it all easy for him. And now she was out of the mansion, getting the freedom she deserves.

Lord Gilbert wouldn’t come for her anymore but just remain the psycho friend she has.Text © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.
