Chapter 37

A night with him.

Elina held the wall as she walked back to the front door. Her entire body shivering. As she walks. What was this all about?

Who was kenzo exactly, she doesn’t know the person she had been living with. Does it matters. He treats her well, though he didn’t at first. But she couldn’t justify him because of it. She had to find out on her own. Who he was?

Until recently.

She was at the front door. She would give her present to Ellen and hurry to meet kenzo in the car, she had spent too much time already. How is she gonna face him? But she couldn’t decide yet.

It’s all so complicated.

What if he kills her too. She couldn’t let that happen. But what can she do.

Kenzo was frightening, she knew, he wasn’t a good man, she was aware too. But had no idea it was that deep.

She was her outside, looking sideways. Searching for something or someone. It would make it easier she won’t have to go in anymore.

“What are you looking for?” she asked standing beside her. She twirl around and face her.

“You.”

“Me? Why are you looking for me.”

“Because you look so much like Elina, but you ain’t her are you? Elina can never be this pretty.”

Elina smirked.

“Remember I told you, I’m gonna be rich, I’m rich now, I brought your father home, you should be grateful for it.”

“Its a lie.”

“My dad works with Kenzo. He’s the boss there. You wanna tell me you work there too. Ain’t you full of fake life. I’m having a hard time thinking you’re Elina, now you work with kenzo too. Do you even know who that man is.”

“I thought you were smarter than this.”

“I’m smart. There’s no way you can be so a clumsy, ugly, Elina. Or did you do plastic surgery, no way! How would you get the money”

Elina shook her head.

“Did I really changed that much?”

“You speak different too, unlike the Elina I know.”

“Here. I got your present. It was what I promise to get you for your birthday. Hopes that proves it.” she had told Kenzo about the present when they were discussing about it. She had no idea he had bought them. To give to her.

How sweet of him.

“Elina promised a gold necklace and bracelet.”

“You can open them when I’m gone. Happy Birthday Ellen.” she pulled her into a hug. Then disengaged after afterwards, leaving Ellen to stare at her as she walks away from there.

She open the present while her back was against her, heading towards the cars parked outside the house.

She opened it fully, it was gold necklace. A small gasp escape her mouth.

It was Elina.

How did she look so different and classic, how come she appeared so matured and beautiful.

She was no longer the Elina they knew anymore she has changed.

She ran after her.

Calling her name.

Elina stopped. While her hands were on the car door. She waited for her to meet up with her. She was out of breath when she got there.

“Elina..”

“Ellen. You opened the gift already.”

” I didn’t get to say Thank you.”

Elina smiled.

“Thank for bringing my dad. We’ve got to see him again, thanks to you.”

“Well, I didn’t do much. He did everything.” she points towards the car. Elina crane her neck a little to see who was in there but the glass was tainted.

“See you another time.”

Ellen nodded and waved to her as she got into the car and shut it behind her.

Ellen waved till the car was out.

“You spent an hour and thirty minutes. You added fives seconds to it.”

“Was that all you did, count the time I was gone..” and the time you’re gonna get rid of me. She didn’t dare say that out loud. She only looked away. Facing the window.

“Where are we going?”

“Anywhere you wanna go.”

“Let’s have a drink. I really need it now. A bottle or two.”

“You wanna drink?”

“Yeah. I need it to get my head off some stuff. To the bar Sambas took me to the other time we should go there. ”

Kenzo nodded. He noticed she was avoiding his gaze and trying not to have any contact with him.

What was wrong with her? Now she wanted to drink, when she could hardly handle a glass. He thought she wanted to go on a date with him tonight. He wasn’t expecting this from her.

It would be okay if she got drunk, at least he would get to know what went wrong. What did she hear or see?

“Aziel, to the bar.” Ariel nodded, there was only one bar he goes to. So he doesn’t need to ask for a name.

He ordered. She relax into the seat, with her gaze still fixed on the window. And didn’t say a word to kenzo till they got to the bar. Which was an hour drive from here.

She keep biting her nails. Her nervousness, had been the reason for all that. She was nervous.

What if she goes through it and only got hurt instead or what if Barbra was wrong there was only one way to find that.

They got out of the car. With Elina taking the lead into the bar.

“What’s wrong with her?”

Aziel asked.

“Why did you have to tell her that!” he yelled at her face. Barbra scoffed.

“I would have told her more.”

“It wasn’t in your place to tell her.”

“When would you keep her in the dark. You take her out but never tell her what the plan is until that day. She had no idea who cruel you all are. You keep hiding her in the dark so she wouldn’t find out the dirty secrets deep down here!” she poked his chest.

“Or did I say anything wrong ain’t they all true? Didn’t he kill my sister. He’s he part of a mafia gang.”

“Shut up Barbar. You should have kept your mouth shut. If you still want to keep living.”

“Is he gonna kill me? I don’t care! But listen to me, he’ll pay, real hard, I promise you, I must have my revenge on the pain he inflicted on us. He will pay for it, every bit of it.” she flared up.

“Then I’ll stop you.”

“I would love to watch you try. He won’t know when or where. Wait for it.”

She pushed him aside and walked away.

Sambas watched her leave.

What was she planning?

“She told her all that?”

“I’m sure she’s gonna tell her more or spoils her mind against us. Her plan is to use Elina if I’m correct to get back at us.”

“We won’t let her.”

“I don’t know, it’s seems what she told her has been having effect already.”

They got into the bar. Elina sat at the spot she was the last time. Kenzo sat beside her. Watching her ordering a drink she couldn’t drink up to a half.

She took the glass of vodka and sips from it. Then took it in a gulp.

“Aishh!”

“This is good.”

Kenzo nodded.

Watching her chugged down another glass. She refill it and chugged it down again. Placing his elbow on the table did nothing else than watch her.

“Ho-ho. Guess who’s here everyone!” the voice has become too familiar to him he didn’t bother turning.

“And guess who he’s here with?”

Elina lifted her gaze off the glass and stare at the tall, dark man coming there way with an evil smirk on his thin lips.

“Hail.. King Kenzo!”

“Hail!” everyone in the bar yelled.

“Shutttt up!” Elina yelled, stamping the glass cup on the table. She had taken half of the vodka. Obviously she was already drunk. She stood up, but fell back on her seat.

“Be careful..”

She waved kenzo off with a hand.

Standing up again.

“Ain’t you tired, well I’m suck of your boring games. You won’t win anyway, because I’m here. I’m the gamer.”

Hazard scoffed, stand close to her.

Kenzo stood up, and stood in between them, pushing Elina behind him. Elina step forward pushing kenzo behind.

“I got this.”

“Oh, what’s this?” Hazard laughed.

“Youuu..” she slurred.

“I’m sure if you know who kenzo is you won’t stick to him.”

“I’m tired of hearing that shit.”

“Oh!”

“And listen you dick!”

“Wow! I see, kenzo is taking good care of you. Let’s see how long it will last.”

“Forever!” she spat on his face. He rubs his face. With his hands.

“That’s why I like you. Bet, I will take you away from him.”

“You bet.” she laughed at him.

“C’mon, let’s go.” she fell on Kenzo, throwing her hands over his shoulders.

Hazard glared at Kenzo, how he so much hated him. And he can’t wait till his plan works. Then he would see how he’s gonna survive.

Kenzo was shocked. She held him tighter to herself.

“You could walk on your own.”

“I want you to take me, I know you don’t know, i’ll be eighteen tomorrow. I was never the time to talk about birthday cause I never did have one. First of next month. That’s my birthday. I never wanted to talk about. I tried as much as I could to forget it. Because it was never important. My mother died on that day. So I never find it important and as much try to forget about it, only then I could move on.”

“What to you want?”

He didn’t know when he had his hands

around her, and the other caressing her hair.

“I want you.” she whispered.
