Chapter 7 She Wanted a Child
Chapter 7 She Wanted a Child
“Grandpa, why are you here?” Alexia asked, hurriedly getting up and watching Grandpa Lancaster walking in and leading a few people who held tonics.
Not getting a response, Alexia tried again. “Grandpa, have a seat here.”
Even though Grandpa Lancaster smiled kindly at Alexia, she couldn’t help being nervous when she got up and pulled a chair over for him.
“Ha-ha, alright. Aily, you have a seat too.”
Grandpa Lancaster smilingly sat down and clasped Alexia’s hand, “I heard that you were hospitalized last night. The supplements are especially prepared for you. How do you feel now?”
“I’m fine, Grandpa, you don’t have to come here specially for me. You could’ve just called me.”
“It doesn’t matter.” Grandpa Lancaster looked at Alexia’s belly as he asked in a concerned tone, “How do you feel now? Did you want to vomit, or maybe do you want to eat something?”
“Wh-what?” Alexia was stunned. She just had stomach problems; why would Grandpa ask her these questions?
“Why are you still so unconcerned? Pay more attention to your diet now.” Grandpa Lancaster said in earnestness.
After hearing the news last night, he was certain she must be pregnant.
Seeing her confused expression, Grandpa Lancaster reminded her again, “If there is any discomfort, remember to tell the doctor. I don’t want anything to happen to my great-grandson.”
‘Great-grandson?’
“This… Grandpa, I was hospitalized because of a stomachache, not because of pregnancy.”
So big a mistake! How could she get pregnant so easily after getting laid with Chaim only once?
“Not pregnant?” Grandpa Lancaster’s smile immediately disappeared and he asked unhappily, “Really? Don’t you lie to me?”
“Grandpa?” Chaim entered Alexia’s room with breakfast and stopped in surprise when he saw his grandfather. “Why are you here?”
“Is there a problem with me being here?” Grandpa Lancaster’s expression grew sullen, “You’ve been married for three years but haven’t had a child! Are you planning to piss me off?”
Grandpa Lancaster’s son and daughter-in-law, Chaim’s parents, passed away early, and he only had one grandson. If Chaim and Alexia didn’t have children quickly, who would the future of the Lancaster family be passed on to?
“Grandpa, don’t worry. We have our own plan.” Chaim put breakfast on the table and patiently comforted Grandpa Lancaster. “Aily, am I right?” Text © owned by NôvelDrama.Org.
Chaim looked at Alexia and because he rarely called her by her first name, Alexia stuttered in her answer.
“Huh? Yeah… yes, Grandpa, he is right.” Alexia answered, her face reddening.
‘That’s the first time Chaim called me by my first name.’ Alexia was happy in secret.
“Humph!” Grandpa Lancaster saw through their ruse, “Fine! I’ll wait. But don’t even think about coming back to visit me until you have a child!”
“Grandpa, don’t worry.” Chaim stepped forward to help Grandpa Lancaster up, “You shall go back and rest first. There are too many bacteria in the hospital.”
“That’s right, master.” The Lancaster family’s old housekeeper also stepped forward to persuade, “Look, the young master is waiting to have breakfast with the young lady. How about we leave them to their meal?”
“Alright.” Hearing this, Grandpa Lancaster started calming down, and stood up to leave before retorting, “Take this matter seriously. Don’t try to fool me!”
They left quickly and the room was quiet once more. Alexia was relieved, but soon became embarrassed again. If she couldn’t have a child… Would Grandpa ask her to divorce Chaim?
Their marriage was originally set by Grandpa… But Chaim made it quite clear on their wedding day he didn’t want to even think about having children.
Chaim turned around, and felt a little guilty seeing Alexia sitting on her bed with a melancholy face, “You don’t need to worry. I will solve it.”
How could he solve it? Alexia looked up in surprise. Did he agree to have a child with her? Before she could say anything else, Chaim continued.
“Breakfast is here, don’t forget to eat. Aunt Song will come here later; I need to go back to work now.”
Chaim didn’t seem interested in continuing the topic and left after giving Alexia a few more instructions.
Alexia sat on the bed in a daze, her heart hurt intensely… It was the same situation. He didn’t want to have children with her.

After several days of observation in the hospital, Alexia was finally allowed to leave the hospital.
Chaim didn’t visit her even once during her time in the hospital. Their relationship seemed to have returned to the starting point.
“Ms. Alexia, I will go down to arrange the driver first,” Aunt Song said, grabbing Alexia’s duffel bag and leaving the room.
Alexia headed for the elevator after washing her face. But as soon as she reached for the elevator button, someone suddenly grabbed her arm. Alexia turned around and saw her mother’s anxious face.
“Mom, why are you here?”
“Aily, how much money you have, give it to me. Now!” Mrs. White said, reaching for Alexia’s purse.
Alexia was taken aback, and subconsciously took out her wallet. “Mom, what happened?”
