Chapter 71 Why Are You Scolding Me?
"Hmph, what kind of look is that?" Blanche clenched her fists indignantly, her head held high haughtily like an agitated calf.
"No, a car wouldn't be enough. I would need a plane, a tank, and even a spaceship to pick you up." From NôvelDrama.Org.
Hmm?
Talk back to him? Louis narrowed his eyes. This woman was asking for trouble.
As she saw Louis, Blanche's mood plummeted. Just earlier on the balcony, he had held her chin, leading to a misunderstanding with Eric.
"Crazy." Louis was infuriated. Thinking of Blanche's hot chat with Brendon earlier, he felt something was off.
Blanche was rendered speechless. The orange she was squeezing in her hand was almost crushed. How could he still scold her?
"Why are you scolding me?"
Louis glanced at Blanche's hand gripping the orange and noticed her arm trembling slightly. This woman was holding back.
He did not doubt that in the next second, Blanche would likely pounce on him in anger.
Brendon was stunned for a moment, sensing the atmosphere around him freeze. He approached Blanche and spoke softly.
"So your name is Blanche Kent."
Blanche was stunned for a moment, then nodded. "Sorry, I was planning to tell you later."
Brendon shook his head. "It's okay. But, what is your relationship with Mr. Herbart?"
Brendon sensed that their relationship wasn't like that of a boss and a subordinate. Which subordinate would dare to speak to their superior in such an impolite manner, especially to the highly-respected president of the Herbart Group?
Siblings? It didn't seem so.
Faintly, a possibility occurred to Brendon.
"There can't be any relationship. I have nothing to do with him." Blanche grumbled.
Upon hearing that Blanche claimed to have no relation with him, Louis's eyes suddenly hardened. Seeing these two together made him very uncomfortable.
Brendon scratched his head, trying to mediate the situation.
"Mr. Herbart, Miss Kent is actually very kind-hearted, just like the students who just entered our research institute. They are all full of competitive spirit. Deep down, they are all excellent talents. If the leadership can be tolerant, they will surely grow rapidly."
After a second look at them, Brendon felt that Blanche being an employee of the Herbart Group was the more likely scenario.
Siblings did not seem right, and it was unlikely that a couple would start arguing upon meeting.
Great, this man even started to speak up for Blanche.
What? Blanche was puzzled. Brendon thought she was an employee of the Herbart Group and was trying to speak up for her, but she didn't need it. She didn't want to work for the Herbart Group at
all.
"Don't talk anymore. He's the kind of person who is domineering and autocratic. He doesn't listen to anyone else." Blanche sighed. If she had to work under someone like that, she would die of anger in a day.
Louis glanced at Brendon. "Do you think I am her boss, and she is my employee?"
"Isn't she?"
Blanche replied, "Of course not…"
"Yes, she is an employee of the Herbart Group. If it weren't for this vacation, I wouldn't know when the company had hired such a prickly person. The HR should be fired."
Sam looked at the time and came over. "Mr. Herbart, it's time to leave for the afternoon meeting."
Before leaving, Louis gave Blanche a cold look. Blanche shivered and shrugged her shoulders.
Watching that upright and sturdy figure disappear into the distance, Blanche exhaled a breath of relief. Hmm, after Louis left, the sunshine here became much brighter.
"You are really tough. You dare to talk back to the famous Mr. Herbart. Aren't you afraid he will fire you when he goes back?"
Blanche replied, "Do you really think he's my boss? Your perception needs to be improved."
"Then what's your relationship? He's such a busy person. As soon as he came over, he could call out your name. That's not ordinary. Are you siblings? You don't look alike at all."
Blanche didn't want to admit that she and Louis were married.
"We just met. He really has a bad temper. Knowing him is just bad luck. Forget it. Let's not talk about him. I still need to pick oranges."
