Burned Once, Never Again (Niamh and Castiel)

Chapter 98

Sienna felt as if a thorn had lodged itself in her throat. Her eyes narrowed as she glanced at Naomi, but she tried not to let her

hostility show in front of Renee.Belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.

Like Niamh had pointed out at the police station, she disliked anyone. who had anything to do with Castiel. So, there was no way she could ever be friends with Macy.

Even though Sienna had no idea how Macy had managed to extricate herself from the situation due to Niamh's interference, there was no denying that Sienna was adept at playing her role at Jamison Manor. Her ability to win over someone as discerning as Renee spoke -volumes about her skills. Naomi left, leaving Sienna and Renee.

"Mom, have you done a thorough investigation on Ms. Lawson?" Sienna asked tentatively.

Renee was caught off guard.

"After all, she had been abroad for so many years."

No one would know what Naomi had done there. Over the years, Renee made it a point to thoroughly investigate anyone who had returned from living abroad for several years and was interested in marrying into the Jamison family.

However, Renee had never looked into Naomi because she had always harbored feelings for Castiel before she went abroad; she even appeared rather lovesick. Hence, Sienna's question made her face fall.

After giving it some thought, she responded, "I haven't done a

background check on her, but from what I can see, she seems very kind and well-mannered. I doubt she's done anything out of line."

Sienna continued, "I hear you, Mom, but you know what it's like abroad. Ms. Lawson might be gentle and well-mannered, but there are a lot of outgoing men there. Since you want her to have your grandchildren, I think it would be better to do a thorough investigation. Sienna had killfully positioned herself as a concerned family member, leaving Renee no room to disagree. Renee closed her eyes and nodded. "You're right, she might've changed due to her surroundings. I'll have someone look into her."

Renee was furious when she thought about her grandchildren Niamh had never given her one, and she remembered how Niamh had hurled the cremation pendant at her the other day.

It was obvious she had known from the very beginning, but she hadn't told Castiel. Renee could tell from Castiel's expression that he was

clueless.

She had never wanted Niamh to get pregnant. From the day Castiel and Niamh had tied the knot, she'd never thought their marriage would last, even though they had been in a relationship for seven

years.

"We need to do our due diligence. After all, Castiel isn't young anymore. After divorcing Niamh, he should be more cautious about remarrying," Sienna said with a glint in her eyes.

Renee nodded in agreement. After all, Castiel had spent almost a decade with Niamh. Many of his peers had children who were already several years old. She couldn't help but envy the other ladies who personally dropped off their grandchildren at school. Tilda poured Renee a cup of coffee and looked as if she had something to say. Renee's expression darkened when she noticed her

hesitation. "Out with it."

Tilda had been her hands and feet for years, relaying all the crucial information to her. Renee could tell from Tilda's uneasy look that this was bound to be important.

Tilda said, "Madam Jamison, I feel I should be forthright and tell you something that I believe would be beneficial to both you and Mr.

Jamison. Mrs. Jamison is about to finalize her divorce from Mr.

Jamison, yet she's still lavishly spending his money. It seems rather inappropriate, don't you think?"

"The nerve of her!" Renee had been feeling a bit better after talking to Naomi, but her mood was instantly ruined as soon as the topic of the divorce came up. Niamh had nothing to her name when she married Castiel.
