Burned Once, Never Again (Niamh and Castiel)

Chapter 39

Niamh grabbed Billie and took the knife away from her. She placed Ginger in Billie's arms and said, "Go back to the room first.

"Niamh..."

"I can handle him." Niamh knew what Castiel wanted when he came here at this time of night. She

also knew his temper well, so she didn't want Billie to have any conflict with him.

Billie was furious, but she remained silent. She went back to the room with Ginger.

The knocking continued, now sounding more like kicks.

Outside the door, Castiel's furious roar pierced through the night. "Niamh, come out here!"

A neighbor, clearly fed up with the noise, opened their door and shouted back, "What's all the Sommotion about so late at night? Young people these days..." The neighbor's voice trailed off, followed by the sound of their door being slammed shut.

Castiel's intimidating gaze was enough to silence and deter the neighbor.

Niamh walked over and yanked the door open. Castiel was standing outside, his entire demeanor radiating cold anger.

His stern and furious gaze was unlike anything she had seen before. It was more akin to a disappointed parent disciplining a child, commanding and authoritative. Niamh was undeterred, and she met his gaze head-on.

"Have you lost your mind?"

Before she could react, Castiel's grip tightened on her wrist, dragging her out forcefully. Her right arm, still not fully healed, throbbed in pain from the harsh pull.

She stumbled and fell to her knees, the sharp sting of her injured knee adding to the agony. Her face went pale with the sudden pain.

Castiel only glanced back at her for a moment before hoisting her onto his shoulder and heading. toward the elevator.

Niamh pounded on his back, her emotions spiraling out of control. "You're insane! Let me go! Let me down!"

Her efforts were futile against his firm grip.NôvelDrama.Org © 2024.

As he shoved her into the car, she tried to leave from the other side, but she held her ankle and yanked her back forcefully. Once she was lying in the back seat, Niamh struggled fiercely.

He loomed over her, his presence commanding and unyielding. "Stay still!*

Niamh's response was defiant and angry. "Get off me!"

Her tone only further provoked Castiel

The driver, trembling in fear, would have gladly abandoned the car. However, knowing Castiel's orders, he gritted his teeth and drove off.

Niamh stared into Castiel's enigmatic eyes. They were as profound as an endless ocean, leaving her unable to discern anything.

His voice cut through the silence. "All of this, for a pair of legs and a pair of eyes? She only wants an apology from you! Is that too much to ask?"

A sudden bang echoed in Niamh's mind, and her world seemed to crumble into desolation. All that remained was her standing alone in a gray, desolate expanse as if abandoned by everyone. The man who had always stood by her side through everything was now forcing her to apologize to Macy.

After a long silence, Niamh came to her senses. Looking at the man before her, she said, stressing each word, "I. Will Not. Go."

"You don't have a choice."

"I would rather go to jail than apologize to that woman!" Niamh shouted, her voice full of defiance.

Of course, she had no intention of actually going to jail. She had full confidence in the police's effectiveness.

But the disappointment she felt for Castiel was as deep as her once unwavering trust in him. A resounding slap echoed through the car.
