Chapter 26
I started painting again, and I didn’t mind people chit-chatting with each other. I must complete my painting before the deadline. I’ve been on the path I’ve chosen for two years. I have no regrets about taking this course. It’s enjoyable; I enjoy paintings, drawings, and anything else related to fine arts. I used to enjoy painting when I was younger. That way, I can express myself more freely. Every time I paint, I feel as if my own world becomes more peaceful.
That in and of itself is a bit pricey. Purchase as much as you require. But, since I enjoy the arts, all I have to do is work hard. Including, having a part-time job and participating a scholarship program. I’m not that difficult but it’s really complicated.
When I saw how nice my painting was, I couldn’t help but smile. I’m almost finished; maybe just a few more strokes and I’ll be done.
But, maybe, I’ll just finish this tomorrow. It’s getting late and I need to get ready for work. I don’t want my salary to be reduced. I can’t risk it.
I quickly packed my things and went back home.
Azi immediately opened his mouth and barked at me. I gave him a big smile and carried him. I kissed him before getting him something to eat.
I took off my clothes and sat down on the couch. I shut my eyes. Then I thought of Azazel.
We never saw each other again after that night. There was a time, our paths will crossed, but I always changed my directions. My fears continue to dominate my entire system. Maybe I was just crazy in imagining them. I’m afraid I didn’t judge them fairly.
They even helped me. I exhaled a sigh. I was almost raped. If they don’t show up, I’m not sure where to go. Or if I’m still alive when that happens?
Then I learned that they had left earlier. What is the reason for this? It’s not that I didn’t want to see them or Azazel. But…
I just shrugged and stood up to go into the club. Even though I wasn’t inside, I noticed a lot of parked cars. There appear to be a large number of customers now.
When I walked in, I noticed the manager conversing with one of the club’s waitresses.
In a few moments she approached me. She held my hand and smiled at me. “I need your help, promise, this will be the last one, darling.” I could have done nothing but nod.
She gave me a friendly smile. She escorted me to her office and handed me another uniform. I immediately tied my hair into a ponytail and adjusted my eyeglasses after changing my clothes. I went out right away, and as usual, I tried yanked the skirt down. I’m not used to wearing a uniform like this. Since, I always wear long skirts.
I walked right up to the bar counter. And I was taken aback to see Samael mingling with alcoholic beverages. He was all smile in those girls in front of him. He noticed me and seemed surprised as well. So, are they here? It means …
“Holy shit, why are you wearing that? Fuck, the demon will be unleashed again, tonight.” He chuckled. Then he looked at the women in front of him. “Anyway, girls, this is my sister in-law, Seraphina.”
Sister in-law? Wait. What?
The three of them looked at me. They glared at me. I averted my gaze as the other raised an eyebrow at me. I can’t really used to this. I’ll never be able to get used to the way they look at me. I despise feeling this way. I felt completely helpless. But I couldn’t help myself.
“Sister in-law?”
“She is my twin’s girlfriend, yes.” Girlfriend? Who? Me? Whom?
“Whose girlfriend is she?”
Samael didn’t say anything, just stared somewhere with a grin on his lips.
A woman was about to speak when someone came in and dropped a tray on the bar counter.
“His girlfriend,” Samael said, a smirk on his lips. I was shocked to see who just came. His back was facing me, so he hasn’t seen me yet.
I couldn’t move and could only swallow my own saliva. I could hear the girls gasp. I’m sure they’ve noticed Azazel. I can tell it oh how they stared at him.
Who wouldn’t, after all? He’s the definition of an alpha male. Dominant. Powerful. Rich. Not to mention his physical appearance. Hawk gray eyes, thick brows, a proud and pointed nose, a great jawline that perfectly fits him, kissable lips—wait, what? What on earth am I thinking? I shook my head.
Those aren’t the kinds of thoughts I should be having. If my mother were still alive, she would be furious with me for thinking such things. Especially if he finds out about the kisses Azazel and I had. My mother is a devout Christian who first taught me the ten commandments of God.
So sometimes I can’t forgive myself for what I do.
“Did you see Seraphina, Samael?” my eyes widened as he searched for me. I bit my lower lip. Shouldn’t I go? Or not? I should flee. I have no choice. I have to.
“Seraphina? Behind you, brother,” Samael said, chuckling and smirking.NôvelDrama.Org exclusive content.
As he slowly turned in front of me, my heartbeat quickened. I stopped breathing when I saw his hawk gray eyes. It was as if I were trapped in my position. I couldn’t move because he was staring at me.
“Sera— fuck! Why the fuck are you wearing that?” he said, looking down at my outfit.
I was puzzled by Samael’s laughter. Azazel’s eyes were fixed on my dress, and I couldn’t take my gaze away from them. His brow furrowed, and the irritation in his eyes was visible. I’m not sure how I’m going to respond to him. I’m at a loss for words.
But then he turned to face me. I was moved to speak after hearing him curse several times.
“I-I n-need to s-serve,” I trembledly picked up a tray containing only wine.
