Boyfriend For Rent

Seeing her beautiful face, made him excited, that he forgot all the sadness his mom had inflicted on him, on their way home. Of course, she didn’t stopped frustrating him, talking about him getting a girlfriend, till he was forced to yell at her.

“Nora?” He called surprisingly, as he stared at her. Though she already notified him of being in his house, but he never believed that, he didn’t want to keep his hopes high, till he sees her, and here she was, looking back at him. The more he looked into her beautiful eyes, the more he found himself, getting drawn by his beauty, which kept driving him to the edge of craziness and crave.

“You never told me you have a girlfriend Audrey.” His mom’s voice filled the atmosphere, pulling him out of his dazed state, as her words rang in his head. He first looked at Nora, to be sure she wasn’t hurt by what his mom just said, but instead of seeing the look of anger on his face, he was welcomed with that shocked expression.

“Uhm… mom there’s a…”

“Come here my dear.” His mom said excitedly, as she extended her hands, while walking over to her, and without waiting for her to protest, she pulled her into her arms, while she stared blankly into space, trying to understand what was happening.

As much as she shocked, hearing the woman mistake her for Audrey’s girlfriend, made her extremely happy, but she couldn’t help feeling bad, as the thought of things never working out for them, crossed her mind.

Meanwhile, Audrey stood watching his mom and Nora, embrace like a mother and daughter in-law, and he just couldn’t help wishing that it was reality, he wished she were his girlfriend, but to him, that seem to be the dream that may never work out well for him.

“You’re so beautiful.” She pulled away, and cupped Nora’s cheeks in his palms, while looking at her with a smile on her face.

“Thank you ma’am.” She smiled widely at her.

“Call me mom please.” She said, and Nora nodded.

After what seemed like forever, she finally left with Audrey, who took her bags with her, till they got to her room…

Audrey POV

This turned out to be the most confusing and difficult moments of my life, mom is just one hell of a frustration, she will never cease to making my life miserable. Having Nora in my house, is one of the best things that ever happened to me, I wasn’t expecting this day to ever come.

Stepping out of mom’s room, I took a deep breath, before walking through the hallway, till I got to the stairs, and stared climbing down it. Stepping into the living room, I met her sitting there, staring at nothing, and I couldn’t resist the urge to smile.

“Hi!” I said nervously, as I sat down. Gosh! I can’t believe she’s making me nervous, just what the heck is she doing to me? She’s just driving me crazy, and I think I’m losing my mind, because whatever she is doing to me, indeed is affecting me.

“Sorry for coming here uninvited, I…”

“It’s fine. What should I offer you?” I cut her off.

“Nothing, I’m fine.” She replied, and I nodded.

“I’m sorry about what happened, mom can be very annoying.” I said, and laughed nervously.

“It’s nothing.” She smiled.

An awkward silence crowded the atmosphere, and I was getting uncomfortable by the silence. I tried searching my mind for what to say, but damn! My head seemed to be blank, why does my brain have to abandon me at the time I need it the most?

After what seemed like forever, she finally stood up, and told me she wanted to go. As much as I want to tell her how I feel, the thought of her not feeling same way for me, keeps pulling me back. I know as a man, I shouldn’t be having that feeling, but you don’t understand, it’ll hurt me, if she turns me down.

both walked out of the house. We walked over to the parking lot, where her car was parked.

“See you.” She smiled at me, before opening the door to his car, and just then, something pushed me to stop her.

“Nora…” I called, before I could stopped myself, and she stopped, before tilting his head to look at me questioningly.

I gulped down nothing, as her eyes met with mine. Now I regret calling her, I shouldn’t have made this mistake, especially knowing that I won’t be able to talk to her.

“Yes?” She gave me a questioning look.

Taking a deep breath, I gulped down the lump in my throat. I can’t believe this is happening to me, I can’t believe she’s having this much effect on me, I was this bad guy, I have this sweet mouth, which can win a lady’s heart effortlessly, and here I am, acting like a puppy before her, something is wrong somewhere.

“I… I… I love you.” I managed to say, as I felt my heart racing faster. Like the whole world stopped working, I stared deep into her eyes, silence assumed the atmosphere, as the only thing I could now hear, was the thumping sound of my heart, trying to force its way out of my chest. I waited for her reply, even if she was going to turn me down, I already made up my mind to accept my fate from here, and know what future had in store for the two of us.

She stood staring at me blankly, her face, having no expression. I tried guessing her thoughts through her expression, but they were blank, leaving no trace of what she was thinking, so I gave up trying.

After what seemed like forever, she finally opened her mouth to talk, but the sound of the car that just drove into my compound, pulled our attention, and snapping my head towards the direction, to check who it was, I was shocked to see Ivan, alighting from the car that just drove in.

I turned my attention to Nora, who had a terrific look on her face, I didn’t need anyone to tell me that this isn’t good.

Ivan walked over to us, with so much anger on his face, his eyes not leaving mine. Once he got to where we were standing, he glared hard at me, before turning his head to look at Nora, who melted beneath his gaze, fear was written all over her face, as her mouth slowly parted, trembling.

“What are you doing here?” He asked her calmly, but with anger resounding in his voice. Ever since I’ve been friends with him, I’ve never seen him this angry before, and now this is terrifying, I must confess.

“Ivan I… I…”

“What did you do to my sister you bastard?” He roared, as he turned to look at me, with so much anger on his face, and I couldn’t help gulping down nothing. My fear have finally come through.

“Ivan can you calm dow…” Before I could finish my words, two punches landed on my face, sending me roughly to the ground, bursting my lips in the process.

“Ivan stop please.” Nora cried out, as she rushed over to me, but Ivan pushed her roughly aside, before grabbing me by the collar, and sent another punch to my face.

“How dare you mess with my sister, huh? I warned you, didn’t I?” He yelled at me, as he sent another punch to my face, while I just looked at him, with blood oozing from my mouth. Fighting back, is the last thing on my mind, no matter what he does to me, fighting him is totally out of it.

“Ivan please stop.” Nora cried, as she came to stand in between us, stopping her brother from sending another punch to my face.

“Out of my way Nora!” He yelled, while gripping my neck.

“Don’t hurt him please…” She cried out.

“Why?… this bastard dares to…”
