On the first day of work, I was under all kinds of pressure and dared not leave early. So I stayed and
worked for a while after work. When everyone in the office had left, I finally relaxed.
It was getting dark. Gavin came to see me. Seeing that I was still sitting there, he said in surprise,
"Haven't you left yet? I thought you had already left."
I smiled and said, "The boss hasn't got off work yet. How dare I, a small staff leave first?"
Gavin looked at me with a worried look. "You look tired. How do you feel? Are you okay?"
"Okay, I was on my first day and was a little nervous. I'm afraid I can't do it well, not because I'm tired.
By the way, did you read the documents I gave you?"
Speaking of this, Gavin was very surprised and said. "I saw it. You did a good job, which surprised me
a lot. It turns out that you are not good for nothing, either."
I glared at him. "Do you think I'm just a housewife who knows nothing?"
"Of course not! At least not now."
I am glad that Gavin was satisfied, but most importantly, my colleagues seemed to shut up after getting
my information. Although I did not do very well, it at least proved my ability, which was enough.
You can never stop people gossiping. I deeply understand this truth.
Then I went home with Gavin. There was no one in the company anymore, and he was a little bolder. I
was tired, too. I was so tired of dealing with all these people that I leaned against him.
When we got to the elevator, someone called us "Mr. Stone" behind us, which frightened me so much
that I pushed Gavin away. I squatted down and pretended to tie my shoelaces.
When I looked up, i realized that it was Lydia. This lass didn't make a sound wherever she went, which
scared me to death.
Lydia glanced at me and then said to Gavin. "Mr. Stone, I have booked tickets for Aurora next week.
Here is your flight ticket."
After Gavin received the tickets, he looked at Lydia and said. "Thank you for your hard work. You are
still busy at this late hour. You should go back and rest."
Lydia nodded then turned around and left. From beginning to end, he never gave me another look.
Gavin saw that I was still squatting. He laughed and said, "Don't embarrass yourself. Are there
shoelaces on your shoes?"
I just remembered that I was wearing shallow high heels today. I had been pulling on the instep for a
long time and didn't feel it. It seemed that I was still too nervous.
After entering the elevator, Gavin said, "Do you feel ashamed when you are with me? You hide when Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.
you hear any movement."
I smiled and said, "I don't mean that. The main thing is that we are still betting. Although I have nothing
to lose, I also have the desire to win."
Gavin held my shoulder and said, "This competition is getting more interesting!" Then his mouth leaned
closer.
I glanced at the monitor and said, "That's enough. Someone's watching us!"
However, Gavin said indifferently, "Don't worry. No one will watch them. They dare not to watch!"
What he said was worth aftertasting. I looked at Gavin with a smile and said, "What's wrong? Did you
have a lot of experience before, Mr. Stone? You are so sure about this."
Gavin was choked by my words. After a while, he said, "No wonder people say you can't fall in love
with a smart woman..."
