Chapter 27 Catastrophe
Chapter 27 Catastrophe
I opened the door of the tea cafe and as soon as I stepped one foot out, Salome came up from behind
and gave me a big push in the back. The stairs were now full of rain. I didn't expect her to do
something like that, and lost my balance and fell.
At the moment of falling, I didn't even can care about my head. I just clung to my stomach, afraid that
something had happened to my baby.
I was lying on the ground with a very painful expression, and I had no strength left to stand up.
I was in a trance and could see Salome's flustered face. Oh, she's one of those people who can be
scared. But of course, she thought my baby was Gavin's, and if anything happened to my baby, Gavin's
gonna kill her.
Salome threw me and ran away. I tried to get up on my own but I didn't have the strength. Ashley
waited outside in the light rain for a while when someone rushed up and picked me up, shouting my
name in my ear.
He said, "Darcey! Darcey!"
It's Gavin! I opened my eyes slightly and saw a blurred face in front of me. I couldn't see his face
clearly, but I knew it was Gavin. Because only Gavin can give me that feeling of peace. I put my heart
in my stomach and fell asleep.
I woke up in a hospital bed. Smelling this familiar disinfectant smell, my breath tensed with some cold Owned by NôvelDrama.Org.
feeling.
Gavin saw me awake and asked me quietly, "Darcey! How is it? Are you all right?"
I nodded weakly and looked at the worried expression on his face. "Where... where is the child?"
Gavin nodded and said, "The child is still there. It's very good!"
By this time my heart was relaxed, and a heavy sleep came over me. I grabbed one of Gavin's hands
and slept peacefully.
Maybe it's my missing for him, or maybe it's the strong sense of security Gavin gave me. This sleep
was long, sound, and with no dream.
I can have slept longer, but then I got so thirsty that I had to sit up and look for water.
Gavin was no longer here so I guess he left seeing I was okay. I suppose it's a good thing he helped
me out of the goodness, but I can't always rely on him.
But not long after I stood up, Gavin suddenly pushed the door open from the outside and came in.
Seeing me standing on the ground, he shouted, "Why are you up? Quickly lie down! Can you call me if
you need anything?"
I smiled embarrassedly and said, "I thought you were gone." Then I pulled my hand out of Gavin's hand
without any trace, and he did not respond.
Gavin said, "You're still in hospital. Where am I going?"
There was nothing I could say for a moment. "When can I leave the hospital?" I asked after thinking for
a while.
" You are not well. You fell down the stairs and got caught in the rain. Stay a few more days, or you'll be
in trouble if you catch a cold ."
I think so. Pregnant women can't take medicine when they catch a cold. But pregnant women had
weaker immunity. To avoid accidents, I'd better stay in the hospital for a few days.
The others in the same ward couldn't help but whisper when they saw Gavin looking after me. Some
even dared to ask what our relationship was.
I wanted to tell the truth, but Gavin cast cold glare at me and his eyes were full of killing intent. I could
only yield to his threat, nodded and lied with a smile. Gavin also temporarily took the role of a
"husband".
