Chapter 47
"So this was what she was talking about. Aunty has a weird way of passing on messages." Rose mumbled under her breath when she remembered what Paige had told her before she left the room. She stared at the red box and suddenly recalled something. In her past life, she remembered having this same box in her possession before losing it again.
She had kept her promise to not open the box until she was older in her past life. However, the day she planned to open the box to see what was in it, Sophia had barged into her room. When she saw the red box in Rose's hand she quickly snatched it from Rose claiming that Rose should give her the box thinking it was expensive jewelry that was in it.
The matter had caused a small argument between Rose and Sophia because she didn't want to let go of it since it was the last thing her mother gave her. However, when William got home that day and Beatrice told him what happened, he called Rose and ordered her to give the box to Sophia.
Even though it wasn't what she wanted, she had no choice but to let go of it. And was how she lost the box to Sophia without knowing what her mother had left for her.
"You crazy damn people! You've always stolen everything from me and I will make sure you all suffer for your crimes." Rose thought as she clenched her fist just thinking how they have made her lose a lot of things.
Now that she had the box in her hand again this time around, she didn't hesitate before opening the box. She was surprised when she opened the box and saw a gold, heart-shaped key chain necklace in the box. She gently picked up the chain from the box and placed the box down as she examined the necklace. The chain was a bit longer than a normal necklace but what caught her attention was the fact that the heart shaped key pendant was made of real metal. Though it looked like just an ordinary pendant but now that she was touching it, she realized that it was a real key.
"A real key made in an ordinary pendant form? What is this for?" Rose mumbled and picked up the box again. She examined the body of the box to see if there were some other clues as to what the key is for.
Suddenly the box flipped open without knowing how it happened, Rose blinked her eyes as she picked out the small piece of paper in it.
Rose carefully unfolded the paper to not let it tear since it was a small piece of paper. She recognized the owner of the handwriting instantly and knew that her mother had written the content in the paper personally. (This is the key to unlocking the secret that I told you about, my dear daughter.)
Rose frowned, after reading the small letters. She hadn't gotten this message in her past life because she wasn't the one who had opened the box. There is a probability that William had seen this message from her mother and destroyed it so that she wouldn't find out about it.
It was now clear to her why William kept asking her if there was any secret her mother told her about. Rose didn't know why but she felt that her father's question was strange so she lied in her past even though she knew what he was talking about.
"Secret, huh? There is indeed a
secret and if this is the key to what I
think it is, I'm sure mother has something good installed for me." Rose muttered as she got up from where she was kneeling with the keychain in her hand. She made her way into her walk-in closet and roamed her eyes around the glass shelves.
She couldn't stop herself from smiling as she pushed a button just below her bag shelves. A click was heard then a little vault can be seen slowly popping out from the
bottom-most part of the customnet
made stone countertop at the middle of the room. She smiled again as she walked towards the vault. This was the same vault her mother had shown her before she died. She told her that there was treasure she had kept for Rose in the vault but she was too young to
understand then.
"Treasure, you say mother." Rose whispered softly. She was a bit curious to know what her mother had kept in there for her.
She entered her password that her mother had told her about which was her late grandfather's birthday because it was not obvious to guess in case someone came across the vault.Text © by N0ve/lDrama.Org.
After she entered the password, she noticed the keyhole so she raised her hand and inserted the key into it.
A victorious smile can be seen on her face as she opened the vault to check its contents. She paused when she saw two different colored envelopes in the vault again. She reached out her hand and took the two envelopes out. Rose walked towards the couch that was placed in her walk-in closet and sat down as she opened the red colored envelope. As expected, it was another letter from Ruby.
(My dear Roseline Hazel, I'm sorry
your mother isn't strong enough to stand up against those people. It was already too late when I realized the truth but you, my child. You are different, you can be stronger than, me. So please, I hope you grow up to be a stronger woman than your mother and avoid those demons. I have sent words to the people who would help you and you can trust them because I trust them when they come for you. However, in the meantime you wait for them to come, I've prepared a little gift for you in the black envelope. Make sure you put it to good use. Your lovely mother.) Rose calmly read each word written in the letter carefully. She didn't realize when her eyes became watery and her tears slipped down her cheeks.
