Billionaire’s Side Attraction

Chapter Twelve

Javier Lorenzo

I was shown to the guest room I’ll be staying in. It was bigger than average and had a queen-sized bed. I found clothes in the wardrobe, Male clothes that were just my size. I quickly took a shower and got dressed.

Something about this didn’t feel right. Rosa would never be this generous, she was only nice when she wanted something. No one changes overnight, especially Rosa Santiago, the girl I dated for so long. My mom warned me against Rosa after meeting her the first time, and even though I am ashamed to admit it, I didn’t listen. I was blinded by my love for her from day one, but she only hung with me cause it made her look good, plus it helped boost her music career.

In Hollywood, almost everyone wants to be famous, and more than half of those people are willing to pay the price of that fame no matter what it took. Rosa was one of those people who are willing to pay the price of that fame to get her desire. I see folks lose their lives every day just to attain that height. The reality will always be that not everyone will be the biggest thing in Hollywood. This content © Nôv/elDr(a)m/a.Org.

While I was lost in my train of thought, two small knocks came on the door. I twisted my body to the door. “Come in”

My heart fluttered when Lula entered in her floral yellow dress. She wore a pretty smile that complemented her outfit. Her curly hair reached her elbow and her yellow comfy shoes made zero sound as she walked. She is the real definition of elegance, I couldn’t help falling for this beauty. Stop it, Javier! She’s just your travel partner.

She came to sit beside me on the mattress. “Hey”. She said after a while.

“Hey”… “So, I think we should stay in the same room”. I stated.

She raised an eyebrow. “Ooh, someone’s in the mood”

I shook my head. “Not that.”

She dropped her shoulders. “Oh, I see.” I could see the disappointment in her eyes.

“I didn’t mean it that way, Lula, I’m sorry”

“Whatever, so, why do you suggest we stay in the same room.”

“Cause I don’t trust Rosa, if we’re together, we can avoid whatever plot she has set.” I know I sounded paranoid, but my guts were going crazy.

She furrowed her brows. “Why are you being so paranoid, Javier? Stop this, the poor girl is trying to make things better.”

“She is my ex, and she is pretty much mad about me breaking up with her, don’t you get it?”

She shot up from her sitting position. “From the way I see it, you’re the one who’s stuck in the past, ’cause she has moved on already. I think you’re the one who has refused to move on.”

I got up too. “Why would you say that? I broke up with her, remember?!”

“So what? The one who breaks up can also get stuck in the past, it doesn’t matter. Look, Javier, just forget all this. We’ll soon be out of here, just let me enjoy this gorgeous mansion we’re in. Can you do that for me?” She turned around and headed for the door without waiting for my response. She pulled it open and slammed it right behind her.

Shit!

It was hard to sleep, how could I? On one hand; I was staying in the house of the woman I broke up with, and last I checked: Hell hath no fury as a woman scorned. On the other hand; Lula was mad at me. I couldn’t deal with making her hate me just because of Rosa.

“Fuck!” I jumped off my bed when I remembered that I hadn’t charged my phone. What the hell was I thinking? I picked up the device from the table and noticed that the screen had been broken. What the heck?

I tried to turn it on, but it didn’t work. How am I supposed to communicate with the outside world?

Who the hell broke my phone?

I got out of the room in search of Lula, I finally found her outside in the garden. The half moon illuminated the estate, striking light on the images within my view. Lula’s yellow dress glowed under the moonlight, and beside her was someone else… Rosa. They both stood facing each other, neither of them knew I was there. Rosa must have said something before my arrival because Lula replied saying: “No, of course not, Javier and I have nothing in common. He’s just a travel companion, I assure you of that.”

Her words were like an ocean, drowning what was left of my heart. ‘We have nothing in common?’ Is that how she sees me? I turned around and returned to my room. My heart just couldn’t take any more of this madness. I was a fool before, sadly, I am still a fool… falling flat on my face when there is no one to catch me.

After a couple of hours, I heard my door open and close. I looked back and saw Lula at the entrance, but I closed my eyes pretending to be fast asleep. I heard her footsteps approach me until one side of the bed deepened, letting me know she had sat on it.

The next thing I felt was her slender fingers rubbing their way up my bicep and onto my face. She stroke my chin and the next thing I felt was her lips on mine. I opened my eyes immediately and our eyes connected.

She smiled at me, but I was unfazed by her gesture. Her fingers continued to stroke my hair. “I’ll take your offer of sleeping together, Javier.” She grinned, biting her lower lip. She brought her lips closer for another kiss, but I pulled away.

“I’m tired.” I closed my eyes and tried to sleep.

I heard her breathing heavily. “Fine! Be an asshole, gosh! You’re such a pain.” I ignored her, but she continued. “If you have moved on from Rosa, then why are you rejecting me?!”
