When it was break period of the following day, Drake Bell and two partners from Canada were to have lunch together at Kakao Restaurant, a very high end restaurant that’s only reserved for the wealthy alone. Drake Bell and the two partners were lead by seven professional security men into the VIP section of the restaurant. Drake Bell sat while the two partners sat around the table. The two partners were two averagely old men who would be in their early fifties. They were all on suits.

Drake Bell was the one who hosted them to this lunch as a way to show his hospitality. Soon, delicious foods were served before them.

Drake Bell by instinct looked around and was stunned to the gut to see Lily and Alexander eating together. Drake Bell’s heart shrinked and his mood turned seriously sour. Did she rejected to go on a date with him just so she can go on a date with Alexander Bell?

Drake Bell didn’t even know why this hurts so much. He lowered his head for so long that one of the partners having lunch with him had to ask, “Mr. Drake, are you okay?”

Drake Bell came back to his senses, these were important guests before him, he must act rationally and not let his emotions have a better part of him. “I’m fine.” He smiled and began to eat with them. He didn’t bother looking at Lily and Alexander again. But as he ate, he couldn’t help but wonder if Lily and Alexander were already dating. If Lily has already fallen for Alexander Bell, then it will become even more difficult to win Lily’s heart.

After the dinner was over, he stood alongside the partners and walked with them outside. On getting by the car, he said to them, “thanks for letting me host you gentlemen. I’ll be waiting for us to have our scheduled meeting by 3PM.”

“Sure, “one of the partners answered. The two averagely old men shook hands with Drake Bell after which they got inside the Lamborghini that brought them.

Drake Bell watched as the Lamborghini drove away then he walked back to the restaurant. He sat on one of the empty seats then glanced at Lily who was still chatting comfortably and merrily with Alexander.

He breathed a heavy sigh. Should he go to meet them? No, that’s not right. These are two civil people on a date, they have done nothing wrong. But why was he going crazy? A part of him wanted to charge at them and scream on his uncle to leave his woman alone. But was Lily actually his woman? To him, yes, but to her, no.

Is this how this love thing works? Drake Bell asked himself. The last time he fell in love was when he was a teenager and that was with Amelia. Years had passed and his heart had become as blocked as ice. But after he got home six years ago and saw a divorce paper dropped by Lily on the table, he suddenly felt an explicable pain that held onto his heart as if it will rip it apart.

At first, he thought it would get over it but instead, his longings for her kept getting deeper and deeper so he searched the hooks and crannies of America for her but couldn’t find her. He had just got to meet her a few months ago. He was glad she wasn’t with a man at least, that would give him a chance, he didn’t expect for her to hook up quickly with another man and that man she hooked up with isn’t someone he can bully or scare away. That man is his uncle and a secretly rich and powerful man.

Drake Bell’s mind went to yesterday’s event when Lily jumped on him, it was such a beautiful moment. It was the moment he had been dreaming of for such a long time. Holding her very close and seeing her finding comfort in him was such a beautiful feeling. Although he had pulled away from the hug, she eventually remained very close to him when they were talking together.

He glanced towards their table again and saw that they had already stood and we’re already walking outside. He also stood and trailed after them. He watched as both adults got inside the car and drove off.

Drake Bell wondered if Lily saw him and decided to totally ignore him? What could she have done though?

Drake Bell felt sick for the rest of the day. When he got home that day, he took two bottles of alcohol with him to the bathroom. His bathroom was as large as a bedroom so it was very spacious. He stripped naked and soaked himself in a warm bathtub. His entire thoughts on Lily. How the woman who meant nothing to him in the past suddenly meant so much to him now wonders him. Perhaps, it’s fate’s way of dealing with him for trying to kill the two innocent cuties in her belly.

He began to drink aggressively, he eventually finished the two bottle, this time, he was entirely wasted and just remained in the bathtub like a log of wood.

Whereas, there was Lily who had been knocking repeatedly on the door for the past five minutes. The butler had confirmed that Drake Bell was inside the room but why was he not answering her? Could he be sleeping?

Lily wanted to turn back and walk away but a part of her was a little bit worried. When she saw him at the restaurant today, she felt a little guilty. She was not supposed to but she didn’t know why. Lily knocked a few more times and when a response wasn’t coming through, she held the knob and twisted it. To her surprise, the door wasn’t locked so she walked in.

She looked around the room but didn’t see him. However, she sighted their wedding frame laying on the bed. She walked up to the bed and picked up the frame. In the wedding frame, she was dressed adorably in a beautiful white wedding gown, holding Drake Bell’s hand dearly and smiling at him. Drake Bell was on suit and looked adorably too.

Lily felt touched at the picture, this was the peak of her life that time, she thought that the marriage with him would be a beginning of her happiness. She loved him so much and would do anything for him, just anything whatsoever. Even if it means inconvenienting herself or making herself uncomfortable for him, she will do it for him. She was a faithful and obedient housewife for years.

It’s unfortunate that Drake Bell who treasured her in the beginning of their marriage start taking a distance away from her just because she couldn’t conceive. He stopped giving her attention and even dislikes to see her. He made it obvious that he didn’t care about her anymore. But was it her fault that they couldn’t deliver a baby then?

Years went after years and his love for her faded off entirely, she was the only one who still love him, her love for him never changed. She kept praying and hoping to get pregnant for him someday. Since he apparently stopped loving her just because she couldn’t conceive for him. It seems God eventually answered her prayer when she found out she was pregnant. That was after five years that they had been married.

But instead of him to be happy that she got pregnant for him and start loving her back as she hoped, he accused her of having an affair. As if that wasn’t enough, he called the babies in her bastards and swore to abort it. Thinking of how he took her to the hospital for the abortion, how he made her lay in the surgical room, makes her always feel a higher sense of hatred towards Drake.

That man… he was heartless and unreasonable years ago yet now, he thinks he could bully her into winning her back. No!

Although they may have kids between them, nothing romantic will ever subsists between herself and Drake Bell. She was so sure of that. She had once given him his heart and all he does was break and shatter it. Never in this lifetime would she make that mistake again.

Lily placed the frame back on the bed and then wondered where he could be. She suddenly heard some sounds like gruntings coming from the bathroom. She walked towards it and spoke, “Drake!”

“Drake… Are you in there?” She asked, setting her ears keenly to any possible response from him but none was coming.
