Lily walked out quietly without saying another word.

On getting inside her room, she began to think about her past. She grew up in the orphanage and had no idea whom her parents is. Either her parents are alive or dead, she had no idea. Whenever she asks the mathron in the orphanage, she would always tell her that the orphanage officials found her placed as a baby by the road side and hence, was abducted to the orphanage.

So she literally has no family and it hurts to know. She has no one to call to cry to, laugh with, complain to or even fight with. Her entire life had been a lonely one. She needed someone very powerful to free her and her kids from Drake Bell’s force. Living with someone that you don’t love anymore is like living in hell. Walking around the house feels like one is walking on thorns. She feels sad most times in the house and she was always happy whenever she has the chance of leaving the house.

While in her sad state, a notification popped up on her phone. It was an official mail so she immediately opened it and read it. In the letter, it was stated that the headquarters of Yenny Designs had been moved from California where it was to the newly completed skyscraper here at NewYork. And that the CEO of Yenny Designs will like for her to report to his office first thing tomorrow morning.

CEO of Yenny Designs? Lily furrowed her brow in shock. Should she be scared or honoured? She had worked in Yenny Designs for years but she had never had a glance talkless of a look of the CEO of the company. Not just her, every employee in the company, even the investors have not seen his face. Some rumoured that he was an old man who was sick and can’t appear in public while others are of the opinion that he could probably be young but may he disfigured. The only person who had seen him directly was his personal assistant.

Now, Lily would get the chance to see this mysterious man tomorrow. She immediately pulled her laptop closer and began to pile up all her works so far at BELL’S LTD.

“Miss Lily, you may go in now,” the personal assistant to the CEO of Yenny Designs said.

“Thank you,” Lily said and breathed in deeply before walking inside.

On getting inside, rather than seeing a man seated calmly on the chair, she saw a man backing her. He was facing the window. He was dressed in deep black suits and just his figure from the back alone looked hot.

“Good morning, sir.” She greeted calmly, trying to control her nervousness. She couldn’t help but marvel on how tall he was. His black curly hair fits him perfectly.

He didn’t respond for a few seconds then he turned slowly to her. Lily’s mouth opened in shock when she saw his face. Her heart raced in fear, “Mr. Alexander!” She almost couldn’t breath anymore.

This was the man she had abruptly and irrational proposed to before Drake Bell’s office few weeks ago. Who would have known that he was actually his boss? But didn’t Drake Bell said he had got rid of him?

“Si…. r… r…” Her mouth shivered in fear, “I’m so sorry for the other day. I… I wasn’t thinking straight.” She swallowed hard. Would she be fired ? His face was emotionless but his aura was calm but elegant.

He walked up to her and said, “don’t tell me you are going back on your proposal?”

“Proposal?” Her eyes sparkled and her heart sunk. Oh! It dawned on her that she actually proposed to him.

“Please don’t be offended. I was irrational and wasn’t thinking straight.”

“Of course…”

His reply confused her. What does he mean by that?

“How can a woman like you ask me out?” He asked, making her heart sunk into her belly, “I feel very disrespected that a random lady can approach me and ask me out. Were you that desperate and shameless?”

“Sir!” She didn’t even know what to say but this were the last words she was expecting him to say.

“I made some underground research about you after your rude proposal to me and I got to find out you are the one representing us at Bell’s LTD.” He said with a face full of disgust then he sat, “I hope you are here with the works you have done so far?”

“Sure sir.” Lily immediately submitted the printed result of her works to him. After he had reviewed it, he said to her, “your works are impressive.”

Lily sighed, at least, he found her works impressive. But although there were about five air-conditioner turned on in the large office, she still felt hot and couldn’t wait to escape this place.

“But you can’t continue working at Bell’s LTD. I’ll now have you as my secretary.” He said and brought out a file, “read this, all your works as my personal secretary are stated there. Ask my assistant if you have any question. Report here before 8AM tomorrow and have my coffee prepared before 8. You may leave.”

Just like that? He didn’t even ask her if it’s what she wants to do.

“Sir… I…”

“Or have this…” He interrupted and brought out a letter. Lily saw that the letter was a sack letter.

“Oh! Okay… That’s fine. I’ll resume tomorrow morning and immediately write to Bell LTD about the change in plan. But I do hope it won’t affect the partnership of both companies, sir?”

Alexander didn’t even reply her, he was already making an official call. Lily felt embarrassed and left his office.

On leaving his office, she breathed a sigh of relief. But why didn’t he like her? She hadn’t done anything wrong or could it be because of the way she suddenly asked him out? That was rude indeed.

Lily then drove over to Bell’s LTD and went straight to the office designated for her. She immediately wrote a letter about the recent development and sent it to the human resources department.

A few hours later, she received a mail telling her the CEO of Bell’s LTD request for her presence in his office. That was Drake Bell of course.

Lily left her office and soon appeared before his office. After being given permission to walk in,, she appeared before his desk and greeted officially, “good afternoon, Mr. Drake Bell.”

“What’s with the recent development. You want to stop working here, huh?” Drake Bell asked.

“I already made that known in the letter. I’m not working for Bell’s LTD in the first place, Yenny Designs owns me and they decide what my moves are.” She answered. “I guess they will appoint someone else that can take over from where I stop here.”

“It’s either you or no one else,”Drake Bell said.

“Well, it’s not for me to decide. You may write to my company,” Lily said.

“Lily, I know for surety that it is your doing that you were being transferred from here. You probably wrote a letter to your company telling them you need to stop working here.” Drake Bell said and added, “I have not make this place uncomfortable for you in any way. If there is anyone making this place uncomfortable for you, you can just tell me rather than requesting a change.”

“Or… was it because of my engagement with Lily that you requested to stop working here?”

“Please stop!” Lily spoke immediately, “your engagement? What’s my business with your engagement? I don’t care if you get engaged or get married. Nothing is going to change, Mr. Drake. I should leave now so I can finalize all my works here.”

Drake Bell stood and walked up to her, when he was about to grab her hand, she immediately pulled herself away and spoke, “don’t even touch me. Your touch are like pins and needles to my body.”

Drake Bell was stunned at her words. This woman, in the past, longed every day for his touch but now, she dared to say his touch was like pins and needles. To what extent did this woman hate her?

“I should take my leave,” Lily immediately sped to the door.

“Lily…” Drake Bell called.

“Please let’s continue our conversation at the house if at all there is anything else to discuss,” with that being said, Lily walked out.

Drake Bell knew whom the CEO of Yenny Designs is. Although he was mysterious to the public, Drake Bell knew that his uncle was the CEO. He would have called him to tell him to let Lily keep working here but himself and his uncle are not on good terms. Infact, they could be regarded as enemies who never wants to lay eyes on eachother.

‘Well, she’s still living in my house, and hence, will always be in my custody,” Drake Bell mumbled to himself as he walked back to sit.
