Chapter 23
Chapter 23
After Amelia left, Olivia stood in the doorway for a moment. Then Olivia snorted and grabbed a towel to wipe her hair.
Her hair was no longer dripping. It was slightly wet, messy, and overlapped. Several strings of hair plastered on the cheeks, bringing out the delicacy and beauty of Olivia’s face.
“Knock! Knock! Knock!”
Someone knocked on the door three more times.
Olivia cried inside. “It’s so annoying!”
Olivia frowned and casually threw her towel out.
Outside the door, David impatiently watched Emma knocking on the door. His eyes were filled with annoyance.
“I’ll knock!” David yanked Emma over and raised his fist to knock.
“Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!”
David knocked so fast and heavily as if he was going to smash the door. Seeing this, Emma got nervous and said, “David, knock gently. You’re going to scare Olivia this way.”
David frowned impatiently after hearing Emma’s advice. David had a bad temper as if he was always in a rage. He often got angry for no reason and occasionally fought with others.
At this moment, David was at his limit of controlling his anger. However, he glanced at Emma and decided to fight back his anger and remain silent.
Emma came to the door and whispered, “Olivia? Are you still up? It’s me, Emma.”
Olivia took a sip of water in the room and did not reply to Emma.
Olivia had changed her pajamas and put them in the laundry basket with the towel.
Emma did not receive any response from inside after waiting for a while. She bit her lips and did not know what to do.
Emma raised her head and looked at David, saying, “David. Olivia must. have fallen asleep at this time. We can come to her tomorrow.”
Emma thought, “David knocked on the so loud that several servants got

curious and looked over here. I don’t think it’s a good plan if Grandpa knows about this.”
David did not want to be here to see Olivia. He came in the end because Emma forced him to. Now that Emma suggested they should go back, David was happy to hear without any doubt.
Thus, David turned around and was about to go downstairs.
David’s right foot just stepped onto the first stair, and the door opened. David and Emma turned around and looked over in unison. Olivia wore an ordinary set of sportswear. However, it perfectly demonstrated Olivia’s long legs and slender waist, making Olivia a unique beauty. Her hair was slightly messy. Her charm seemed to shine through if she grabbed her hair a little.
Emma had never considered Olivia as a threat. However, at this time, Emma thought, “Men who make a vow of chastity can’t resist such a beauty.”
Thinking of how Ethan’s eyes lit up last night, Emma half closed her eyes to cover her unhappiness.
Olivia glanced at David and Emma and made way for them, saying, “Get in.”
Emma took a deep breath and put a smile on her face. Then she enthusiastically stepped forward and asked, “Olivia, you’re still awake?” Hearing this, Olivia stared at Emma without a word.
Therefore, Emma could not continue her small talk. She immediately apologized, “Sorry. We shouldn’t have knocked so heavily. Sorry to disturb you.”
Emma was shocked after she finished her apology.
Emma thought, “That’s strange. Why did I subconsciously apologize to her? Olivia didn’t say a word, did she?
“It seems Olivia has an aura that I give in to her without noticing it.
“This is not something good.
“Auras exist among people. If one gets suppressed by the other’s aura, one will bow in unconsciously and never raise the head before the other again.”
Emma put herself together after getting into Olivia’s room. She said gently but condescendingly, “Olivia, we come to you at this time for

something important you can dedicate your help to.”
Olivia sat at the edge of her bed casually. Hearing this, she raised her head and glanced at David sitting on the opposite sofa. Then Olivia asked, “What? He doesn’t want to go to Gorshire?”
Emma cried inside. “How did she know about that?”
Emma was dumbfounded.
So did David.
It took Emma a while to come to reality. She could not use the speech she prepared before. Thus, she said while thinking, “Olivia. David will be lonely in a foreign country, and the family will worry about him. You also care about David and don’t want him to go to a foreign country. I know about that.”
Olivia did not reply to Emma. Instead, Olivia stared at an object in the room and let her thoughts flow.
Emma continued. “You know. William sends David to Gorshire because of you. David won’t have to go abroad if you talk to William. Please understand. David and I…”
“Don’t beg her!” David could not bear that Emma begged for help and stepped in to stop Emma.
Emma whispered. “David! Stay out of this! Do you want to go to Gorshire?”
David frowned and replied arrogantly, “Even so, there’s no need to beg her.”
Emma patted David’s hand. Then she looked at Olivia and explained with a smile, “David is a young adult with a bad temper. Please forgive him, Olivia.”
Olivia finally looked at the two of them, asking, “Why are you here since you don’t want to beg me?” All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.
Hearing this, Emma and David were too shocked to speak.
Olivia smiled. She rarely smiled and looked particularly charming with that smile. She continued, “Oh. You must think you don’t have to beg me because everything will be settled when you come to me and mention the request before me. In your plan, I should be terrified and blame myself for dragging David into it.
“I’m not close with the Taylor family and know nothing about it since I just returned. I should be stressed out if I know it’s my fault that David is

sent abroad.
Pm nobody in this family. Grandpa can decide if David goes to Gorshire with a word. William won’t disobey Grandpa’s decision. Besides, William has to agree in the end if Mr. and Mrs. Taylor insist on not letting David go abroad.
“Least of all, you two can go to William and beg him with tears. Then you swear you won’t make such a mistake again. I assume William will probably get soft with that since you are his younger brother and sister” Olivia exclaimed, “There are so many ways not to go to Gorshire” After that, she asked, “Then why do you come to me for help?”
Olivia spoke plainly without emotion as if talking about unimportant things.
Olivia raised her eyebrows and answered the question herself. “Because soft ones are always easy to manipulate, and I’m soft in your eyes.” She looked as cold as usual. However, Emma and David felt
sharpness in that coldness somehow.
Olivia continued, “I will be cold–blooded if I don’t help you. You don’t have to pay anything if I agree to help you since you think this is what I should do. Am I right?
“That’s a smart move. Which of you figured out that?”
Olivia opened her beautiful eyes and glanced at Emma and David. Emma got embarrassed instantly.
David also felt a little uncomfortable. However, Olivia had never been something in his eyes. Thus, David would never apologize or show a good attitude when speaking.
David shouted. “Stop gibbering and give me your answer! Help me or not?”
He sounded so arrogant that he was about to press Olivia to do him a favor.
Olivia raised her eyes and gave David a cold look. Instead of being angry, Olivia was very calm.
The way Olivia looked at David as if David was a barking dog but not a person before her. /
Olivia thought, “That dog knows nothing and keeps barking.
“But why would a human get mad with a dog?”
