*LATE AT NIGHT*
It’s been two days I left home and life has been lonely to me, Maynard left, I stopped picking my mom calls, There’s no one to talk to anymore, My life has been void and I don’t wish to fill it up again, Not to quick, Unless, Maynard will come to me himself.
After our love making this morning, It was as if I relieved him off the stress and burden he has been carrying on his shoulders, Even tho, It lasted for fifteen minutes only, I couldn’t take it off my head, Still.
I missed Maynard so much.
Swimming in my ocean of thoughts, My phone started ringing, I checked it and realized it’s mom calling.
I don’t want to pick it according to Maynard instructions but I can’t help it, I’m her first daughter after all, She must have missed me a lot.
” Mom….”I breathed and I heard her took a deep breath of relief.
” Where have you been?, I was worried “She scolded.
” I was scared because of Mr. Hampson, Scott was his favorite son, I hurt him “I sniffed before hugging my legs to my chest.
” It’s not what you think, Mr. Hampson was angry at his son because he tried forcing you to sleep with him, And he was worried about your whereabouts, He sent Scotts back to school already, And he’s not coming home anytime soon, Now, tell me, Where have you been and how have you been coping? ”
” I called my mom after the incident happened, He gave me one of the company houses, I’m staying here now, Don’t worry about me, I will be fine, You should take care of yourself as well ”
” Are you sure?, You can still come back here ”
” No, I don’t know how to face Mr. Hampson, Don’t worry, I will be fine Mom ”
” Alright, Magnolia, take care of yourself “She mumbled before dropping the call.
I dropped the phone on the table before going to bed to sleep.
MATEO POV
After disentangling myself from her naked body, I stepped down the bed to take my bath, It’s morning already and the time isn’t by my side anymore.
After taking my bath, I dropped one of my black cards on the table, I kissed her breathlessly but she only stirred in her sleep.
We had a long night , She’s not going to wake up anytime soon.

Few minutes later, I entered the company, The junior staff bowed at me, I made sure I reply to each of their greetings before taking the elevator.
Getting to Maynard’s office, He was pacing to and fro in the room, My heart skipped a bit.
Did something happened?
” Good Morning Sir “I greeted and he turned to me.
He had this cold expression which I can’t explain.
He’s really vexed.
” Why did you lie to me, Mateo? “He asked walking up to me, I dropped my briefcase on the chair and furrowed my brows.
What is he talking about?

” Why did you lie to me?, Why did you refused to show your identity to me?, Why?, I want to know “He thundered making the whole office shook terribly.
I bowed my head knowing it’s bursted already.

” I’m sorry “he apologized softly, I pushed my hair back before lifting his face up.
” You should know you’ve caused more harm to me already, And I don’t want this to continue any longer”
” I can still rectify this, I cut ties with Brea already, She’s my biological sister but I decided to separate myself away from her before she cause me more harm, I only want to get closer to you so I can protect you ”

Mateo is a very good man and I see no reasons why he would hurt me.
